Rolling Stone magazine recently published an article titled "Trump 2020: Be Very Afraid," which carries the following subtitle: "America is the first country to ever elect a Mad King, and the way things are going, we may be dumb enough to do it twice."
The author, Matt Taibbi, sat down with CNN's "New Day" on Tuesday morning. Among other things, Taibbi said the enthusiasm at Trump's campaign events this year is even greater than it was in 2016, and reporters who cover Trump are not explaining that.
"What is the magic that he doles out?" CNN's Alisyn Camerota, not a Trump fan, asked Taibbi:
That C in CNN must stand for clueless.

So clueless. Try getting out of your air conditioned liberal bubble and talk to every-day Americans.

Sanity, competence and patriotism.
These are things that the Dems cannot grasp, or if they manage to understand what they are, they cannot manage to accomplish any of them.

It's the ground level bluntness of common sense, stripped of the slick pander of much smoother politicians, void of PC, and lacking in social graces that candy coats and evades harsh realities. Some of us prefer that.

Taibbi makes a tremendous error in his understanding of Trumps popularity. He states it at least twice in this article, and that is that Trump is only a popular figure in that vast desert they call flyover country.
Hate to break it to you, I live in the peoples republic of MA and I saw far more Trump signs than Hillary signs last time around.
Maybe, just maybe, Trumps popularity goes just a little beyond the stereotypical ignorant hick drinking beer and complaining about how the Amish have stolen all the good jobs. Maybe those ignorant fools in suburbia and rural America aren't as stupid as you think. Maybe they actually finished high school, or heaven forbid, survived four years in one of our institutional indoctrination camps. Maybe they think , just a little, for themselves. Maybe your Beverly Hillbillies caricature of conservative americans is, GASP, wrong.
Trumps popularity boils down, in one way or another, to this: We are just tired of being lied to by smarmy career politicians who speak volumes, say little and stand for nothing.

Miss Congeniality (Alisyn), it's because you and the msm refuse to be woke. You continue to cling to your 2016 election loss and thus reject the President's efforts to make America great again. That Marxist dogma that surrounds you in your working environment is toxic and has irreversibly polluted your mind. Brainwashing works, Alisyn?

He truly wants to fix things, and improve the lives of everyone living in the United States.
That's what scares them all, since most don't want to actually fix stuff, just talk about it for the last 50 years.

What is it? It's not magic. A health provider I see occasionally, a very liberal LBG type, said she couldn't understand why he is as popular as he is. I told her that it's because he does something that no Dem EVER does and that is that he offers hope! Dems offer nothing of the sort and I told her that I was bloody sick and tired of being called a racist or a homophobe or being thought of as mentally deficient....THAT is what THEY offer. She had no response.

Oh, Matt, you have a couple of errors in one of your sentences. It should read: America was the first country to ever elect an African King, and they were dumb enough to do it twice.

I can explain it with one word: Hope.
He provides hope that the political class can lift it's heads out of the trough long enough to show a little mercy on our pocketbooks. He gives us hope that there are still elites than can look out for the betterment of all of us, rather than the paid few.
Hope.

"What Is the Magic That He Doles Out?" As I see it:
1. He has the guts to say (sometimes clumsily) what no one else on the public stage will.
2. He is not afraid of criticism.
3. He loves this country and, attributes his/his forebears success to the economic structure, freedom and rule of law in America.
4. He does not care about being politically correct.
5. He is a successful business man who lives in the real world where truth matters and conflicts/problems must be confronted and resolved.
There is no magic. It's just plain old common sense.
