Police near Chicago say six teenagers were trying to break into a house when the elderly homeowner told them to leave and fired a gun after they refused.
The youngest of the group, 14, was shot and killed.
Now the other five, including four under 18, have been charged with first-degree murder as adults, the Lake County Sheriff's Office said in a statement on Facebook.
One is legally an adult, 18-year-old Diamond C. Davis, the sheriff's statement says. Three are 17. One is 16. Authorities did not name the minors.

Works for me #1
FTA "And the homeowner? "We are waiting for the completion of the investigation before making a final decision on charges surrounding the homeowner,"
how about an award?

How about non-political PTSD therapy for the home owner.

That’s right. Their pal was killed during the commission of a crime they were also committing. That’s the way it works, kids….

This must've broken CNN's heart. Not the death -- they never give a rip about that stuff -- reporting it must've killed them; fake forced narrative and all... Having said that, this is actually a relatively well-written article.
Broken clock syndrome. Usually is with CNN these days.

FTA: "Taken into custody, some of the defendants, "most of whom have significant criminal histories," stated they'd run because they "did not want to go back to jail," according to Nerheim."
Just think; if the criminal justice system had done its job as designed, these little punks would likely be in Juvie or jail and not out getting shot at by their intended victims. Oh, well. Live and learn.

So, what's your point, CNN? That there is something wrong with them being charged? Their crime led to someone being killed in the commission of that crime. It doesn't matter that it was the homeowner who fired the gun in self-defense.

Diamond? Yes, you know the story. With six of them approaching him, the homeowner should have kept shooting. Yes Virginia, sometimes you DO need an AR-15.

The only problem I see is does the entire state or only Chicago have gun control laws?
The are feral because: mother is on drugs or grandma has custody because mom is dead, on drugs or skipped out, and grandma cannot control them.
The court will find the homeowner guilty for shooting a future rocket scientist, the others will sue and take his property.
in this state, # 4 is correct.

We live in a remote area with a lake in front of us. And believe me we are aware of these slimey little punks that wander the roads and highways.
DH has a powerful gun on his side of the bed and we have no problem making any 'punk' DRT* if they appear inside our house without being invited.

#11, you are very uninformed, misinformed or disinformed on the law on this sort of a crime. In any felony, in most states, if one person is killed for any reason during the commission of the felony, all of the criminals are equally responsible for the death, and it is a felony murder.
They are getting what they deserve.

Either the DA will reduce charges to a hand slap or some judge will determine no jail time because they "all came from a good family." Why else do you think they all had large rap sheets?

Good news story of the day that shows what a 75-year-old and a legal gun (I assume) did when 6 animals descended upon his house at 1:15 AM. (They brought a knife to a gun fight. HA!) Let's see how CNN continues to report this. Bueller?
