President Trump on Tuesday said Congress should not consider any "final agreement" on election security that does not include provisions mandating voters present identification while casting ballots. “No debate on Election Security should go forward without first agreeing that Voter ID (Identification) must play a very strong part in any final agreement. Without Voter ID, it is all so meaningless!” Trump tweeted Tuesday. (Tweet) Trump has long touted unfounded claims that he only lost the 2016 popular vote by 3 million ballots because of “millions of people who voted illegally.”

I am quite satisfied with the methods in Oklahoma. You show your ID and voter registration card. They find your name in the book for your party. You sign by your printed name. They hand you a paper ballot. You go to a booth and mark your ballot with the felt tip pen. When finished, you go to the ballot box and insert your paper ballot.
Easy peasy, and there is a paper trail. I believe voting is not a "right" but a duty of citizenship. One should be responsible to make sure your voter registration is correct to your current address...at least 30 days before the election...and there should not be extended days to "vote early." It is a duty, a sacred duty, and besides you can take time off work in need be to vote on election day.

Same way we do it in Indiana except we don't have to carry voter reg. The clerks have a roll and your id must match address on the voter list. paper ballot, felt tip pen and picture id.

Let the cries of "racism" begin. I've never understood why we have to spend so much time and money on something as basic as voting. If you want to vote, no one will stop you as long as you're legally permitted to do so.

Without California in the mix Trump would have had the popular vote. However, we are a democratic republic not a pure democracy. Thank God for that. Otherwise, we would be Vensula on a much larger scale.

Even in Colorliberal (formerly Colorado) we show ID for crying out loud. I would like to see some real teeth in voter fraud laws, as in hard time.

Here in Florida, we have to show photo ID plus a voters registration card, sign our name and then vote with a paper ballot. MUCH better than the People's Republik of Vermontistan where no ID of any sort was required to vote and any Tom, Dick or Harry could wander in and vote for either Tom, Dick or Harry, depending on what precinct they were in!!

What kind of voter ID? Don't say a driver's license because illegals get those too.

Most of the California GOP stayed home and did not vote. Last I looked, there were at least 5mil GOP voters who did not bother to come to the polls because they knew their vote would not count. PLUS - many vote absentee. Do they even bother to count those anymore?

The article states "The president went on to retweet a post claiming without evidence that certain areas in California, a reliably blue state, have more registered voters than adults." Uh, so the Hill is unaware of the lawsuit that the County of Los Angeles lost (the largest county in the US and larger than 11 states in population) that showed 121% of the county was registered to vote? Come on, how much effort does it take to find some truth???

Michigan drivers licenses have a magnetic strip on the back with card information. When you vote, while certain other pieces of ID are acceptable, you hand your DL to the election official who 'reads' the strip with a swipe, checks it against a computer record that shows whether or not you are registered or have voted or was sent an absentee ballot. If all is OK, you are issued a paper ballot. All good. Except I see a big push on getting absentee ballots going... which lessens the load at polling places but means the ballots, and the filling out of the ballots, takes places ... somewhere else.

Open borders and no voter ID. Doesn’t that tell you all you need to know about the democrat party?

The Democrat reply:
But, but, but, that would prevent the dead from voting. The grave yards have our most consistent voters. At least non-citizens who registered to vote when they obtained their drivers licensees because of Motor-Voter will be able to vote. This will make problems for those who vote early and often in different precincts.
And, how will this affect our "vote harvesting" operations?
You deplorable Republicans are trying to steal the election!!!

They cannot even be bothered to do research at The Hill. Judicial Watch lawsuit
From BizPac Review.
Los Angeles County has a registration rate of 112 percent of its adult citizen population,” the watchdog group noted in a statement Thursday. “The entire State of California has a registration rate of about 101 percent of its age-eligible citizenry.

In Kentucky, you show your ID and they find your name in the book for your precinct. You sign the book and they give you a paper ballot. You fill it out and put it in the scanner. Done. I used to live in a precinct that was mostly black. Everyone had an ID and no one complained.

It's not fair. PDT is closing off the dems last chance to push a raving lunatic, a genuine racist, a 2034th Native American, a dedicated homo and his husband, an old communist or an old child-groper into office. At least Barack Obama gave them hope 'n change, Trump is giving them nothing.

No kidding. California has 1.7 million more registered voters than legally registered citizens. Michigan has
225,000 of the same. Only God knows where New York stands on this fraud issue. President Trump is right again!!

As with Poster 12 from Michigan, here in FL they swipe my DL. I can only assume it is matched to registration and address. All the new DLs also indicate if you've shown proof of citizenship or not.

This will get more interesting and more contentious as we get closer to the 2020 election. The left has always contended that voter ID disenfranchised people of color...Leftist Translation: "People of color are too stupid to get a photo ID to vote". This time around Trump has voters of color "Woke" and they will question why the democrats don't want to ensure the integrity of the vote.

Dems believe in majority rules (wins) with the popular vote, but only in political contests. In cases of LGBTQWXYZ, or AA, the minority must have the final say, majority be d***ed.

I am in favor of all LEGAL votes being counted. I had no idea there were more registered voters in CA than population. My wife, Mother In Law, and I are all CA Republicans, and we vote in every election. Well, my wife intends to, but doesn't always.
