People must switch from meat-heavy Western diets to vegetarian or vegan diets to avert climate change, a United Nations-backed report has warned. By 2050, the world will need to produce 56% more food than in 2010, to feed a predicted 9.8 billion people.
If the level of meat and dairy consumption rises in line with current trends, 2.3 million square miles of forest will need to be converted for agriculture. Our system of producing food already accounts for between 25-30% of greenhouse gases, the UN’s Creating a Sustainable Food Future report warned. Johan Rockstrom, former director of the Potsdam Institute

Convince all the people in China and India to go vegan and stop their wanton pollution as a daily habit and after I see results then I will consider it...not do it, but think about it.

And if we gave the UN total control, they would not just recommend this; they would mandate it.

Roll it into a ball and shove it.
I will NOT be doing that, and will make sure that my family and extended family don't go down that miserable path, either.

Absolute BS. Water vapor is the biggest greenhouse gas by far, about 99%. Most CO2 is from natural sources, by a huge margin (85%). 30% of the man-made sources of carbon dioxide and methane may be from food production, however.

Ill give up meat when I either have to slaughter my own or when tasty farm animals cease to exist.
You will excuse me now, as I have to fire up the grill for a particularly large slab of London Broil that requires my attention.

Humans are carnivorous, they have ever been so. The vegan "idealists" don't think it is good for you, and they are working toward removing choice, it's called dictatorship.

I suggest that all those that believe this nonsense, take ultimate responsibility and put a plastic bag over their heads and duct take it tightly closed around their neck. That will minimize CO2 and avert climate change. Put up or shut up.

Tell it to the Chinese. They bought Smithfield Farms, you know, Smithfield Virginia Ham, bacon, etc., in order to get a constant supply of Pork to feed their populace. When you buy s Smithfield product, you are sending your money to China. They’re not going vegan!

So, his comment of "our system of producing food accounts for 25-30% of greenhouse gases, is referring to cow FARTS.
Just AOC, she cited it in her New Green Deal, and the state of California is working hard at removing their once flourishing dairy industry, but it's just moving to AZ, NM and TX. But, CA will be able to say they're reducing their emissions though, by gosh.
How much more land would be needed just to plant all the fruits and veggies?
Lastly, remember about 30 years ago when Brazil was clear-cutting massive amounts of their rain forest, and how they suddenly found global warming which has later transformed into climate change? Any linkage to the loss of all those trees that were absorbing CO2?

RE #8:
Try that delicious London Broil this way:
Heat oven to 350°
Roughly chop one med. sweet onion and one med. green bell pepper. Dump in the bottom of a casserole dish with 1lb of baby carrots and salt and pepper to taste.
Season meat with a salt and pepper on both sides and place on top of veggies.
Mix together 3-4 cups of beef stock, depending on size of meat, 3 tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce, one packet of onion soup mix and one can of cream of mushroom soup. Pour around, but not over, meat until liquid is 3/4 of the way up the side of the meat.
Cover and place in oven and bake for 2 1/2 - 3 hours, until meat is fork tender. Serve over egg noodles or rice. This will make it's own gravy so you won't need to do anything
in but call the family to dinner.
Enjoy!!

Nope #8. I butcher my own. Venison, pork, chicken, you name it. A few weeks ago. I turned some people on to turtle. I like having control of the quality of my food. I do buy some from suppliers that I trust. Not giving up meat. Not going to happen.

Are we to believe that all UN-related individuals have been on a vegetarian diet for XX years?
But of course, wine, spirits and young girls and boys remain on their menu.
Sick creeps at the UN.

Maybe Zager & Evans were on to something in '68 with their one hit "In the Year 2525". By 2050 we'll, I won't, but some will be taking a couple of pills for breakfast, lunch and dinner. So until then, pass the horse meat.

Hope everyone is keeping a list of things that WILL BE TAKEN AWAY from us in 2020 if the likes of Blasio/Beto/Spartacus/etc are elected.
Planes, cows, cars, natural gas, private health insurance, borders, and the means to defend ourselves.
I’m guessing they’d go ahead and ban Chick Fil A while they’re at it.

That's a great solution, stop the evolution and physical and mental improvement of human beings so that climate change stops. Then there will be a nice green earth populated by cows and pigs.

Now We hear from them. No humanitarian aid on the border, but you want to tell me what to eat ? Maybe you should advise some countries to practice birth control, then there would be less food to produce. Some of those women are having 14 kids.
I am so hoping if this President gets four more years, he will boot these awful people from that prime real estate.

I'm not surprised. I seem to recall that cults make their followers eat a low/zero protein diet so that they are more easily manipulated mentally. Eat Meat!!!

Reserve meat eating for white people only. Anyone else is guilty of cultural appropriation.
