House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler said Monday that his panel could recommend articles of impeachment by late fall, sketching a rough timeline for potential efforts to remove President Donald Trump just days after a majority of House Democrats signaled their willingness to support an impeachment inquiry. "If we decide to report articles of impeachment, we could get to that late in the fall, in the latter part of the year," Nadler said on MSNBC. Nadler is petitioning a federal judge to get lawmakers access to grand jury evidence collected by former special counsel Robert Mueller, and his committee is preparing to sue former White House counsel

All this little POS Nadler is trying to do is keep the impeachment idea alive until the 2020 elections in hopes that stupid Americans will think that there is something there there" because it is going on so long and therefore vote Trump out. Nadler is a sorry excuse for a human, but a perfect Democrat.

Montana Republican Sen. Steve Daines’ new resolution – S. Res. 289, “expressing the sense of the Senate that socialism poses a significant threat to freedom, liberty, and economic prosperity” – takes three pages of text to say what can essentially be said in four words: “Stop socialism. Choose freedom.” Don’t get me wrong – Daines (pictured) is to be commended for pushing his resolution. It has gotten so bad recently that it seems necessary to put the United States Senate on record declaring that “Marxism and socialism are failed ideologies” that “pose a significant threat to the freedom, liberty, and economic prosperity of all countries and peoples around the world

President Donald Trump, the California Republican Party, and the national GOP joined together Tuesday to sue California over a new tax-return law Gov. Gavin Newsom signed last week. The law requires Trump and other presidential candidates to release the last five years of their tax returns to get their names on the state’s 2020 primary ballot. Trump has yet to weigh in on the issue himself. His personal attorney Jay Sekulow criticized “California’s attempt to circumvent the constitution.” “Today we have taken decisive action in federal court challenging California’s attempt to circumvent the U.S. Constitution,” Sekulow said in a statement. “The issue of whether the president should release his federal

A federal appeals court revived former U.S. vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin’s defamation lawsuit against the New York Times, over an editorial that she said maliciously linked her to the 2011 mass shooting that seriously wounded Representative Gabrielle Giffords. In a 3-0 decision on Tuesday, the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Manhattan said the judge who dismissed Palin’s case ran afoul of federal rules designed to ensure fairness by first hearing testimony from Times editorial page editor James Bennet, and accepting it as credible. Circuit Judge John Walker also said Palin had plausibly alleged that the Times defamed her, though she still bore the

Kavanaugh’s time working in the White House for President George W. Bush. The move gives House Democrats a chance to relitigate the partisan confirmation battle through the committee’s oversight efforts. The New York Democrat said the Senate Judiciary Committee failed to review documents from Justice Kavanaugh’s time as a staff secretary in the White House from 2003 to 2006. Former Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Charles E. Grassley, Iowa Republican, had requested documents related to Justice Kavanaugh’s work in the White House Counsel’s office from 2001 to 2003.

erhaps it isn’t possible to establish a direct connection between the El Paso massacre and the president. Anticipating that Trump would be held responsible, the killer insisted in an online rant that his own white-supremacist views predated the 2016 election, and that blaming the president would be “fake news.” Perhaps the killer’s denunciations of a “Hispanic invasion” and of Democratic politicians using “open borders” to achieve political power resembled the president’s language by sheer coincidence. Perhaps the killer’s retweets and shares of Trump’s Twitter posts can’t be laid at the president’s feet. Terrorism in America isn’t state-sponsored, and Trump isn’t the kind of strongman who orders

We probably should have seen Connor Betts coming. Betts killed nine people — including his own sister — during a shooting spree Sunday in Dayton, Ohio. He harbored violent fantasies about raping women and killing classmates. And his dark predilections were no secret. His friends knew. One says she urged him to get counseling. His school knew. He reportedly was once suspended for compiling a hit list of people he wanted to kill. "This isn't a mystery to me," a middle school classmate told reporters. But nobody stopped him from obtaining a firearm and committing a massacre, even though the red flags were there for everybody to see.
