A rainbow flag with the words “Gays Against Guns” unfurled in Times Square as activists chanted “GOP. NRA. How many people did you kill today?”
As the nation still reeled from back-to-back mass shootings at a Walmart in El Paso, Tex., and an entertainment district in Dayton, Ohio, Gays Against Guns rallied for gun control in New York City.
“They say more guns will help,” said activist Marti Gould Cummings. “Well, Walmart sells guns. Did it help?”
Gays Against Guns, a group formed in the aftermath of the Pulse shooting in Orlando, has lobbied for gun control through three years of die-ins and protests.
The event also drew speakers from other organizations

Savages and madmen walk amongst us. You have the right to stay disarmed and run the risk of becoming a victim. Many of us have chosen differently. There will never be enough members of Law Enforcement to guarantee your safety.

What is it about Leftists that drives them to create imaginary problems like climate change while proposing imaginary solutions to real problems like gun violence ???

That tears it...now that "Gays Against Guns" came out with this statement I'm going to sell all my guns and place a rainbow flag on my empty gun safe in solidarity.

When I started competing in shooting competitions in the early 80s, I met a number of police officers, and we became friends. Over the years, discussing their jobs and learning about how they do the job, and how much real violent crime is occuring daily around in our relatively low crime area of the country (more than is in the papers, trust me) permitted me to put away my Pollyanna views and learn more about the real world of violent criminals. Some kill just because the feel like it on that day.
I started lobbying and helped found a state gun rights organization and worked for 12 years to get CCW legislation passed in KS, and help write the regulations for CCW.
I refuse to be an unarmed victim of the deranged, the violent, the criminal class. In different areas of the country, your odds of running into one of these violent people varies tremendously, but it is never zero.
Think hard about pretending that you are safe to go through life unable to defend yourself. You might be right for a long time in some parts of the country, and you might not.

I met plenty of gun-supporting gays. They don’t like liberalism any more than we do. I even met a Mexican gay who likes Trump. Go figure. People come with all sorts of things in their head. These political groups do not represent average every-day people.

Almost all mass-shootings happen in gun free zones, so if you want to create another target-rich environment, ban guns there. Banning guns does nothing to address the hatred needed to perform such an act in the first place. If someone wants to kill a lot ofpeople and guns aren't available, there are other means. Look at the terrorists in Europe, running over dozens of people with trucks and cars. Guns are not the problem-hatred is.

Aids has probably killed more people than guns but they don't mind spreading that around.

First, every politician is protected by a gun or by a person with a gun. Hypocrites! Then, they are quick to get in front of a camera, pretending to be concerned for the public, and tell everyone that we need more gun control, by taking guns away from "average folks" who shouldn't have the right to protect themselves.
Second, I would rather live in a nation where there is little gun control, where I at least have a chance to defend myself, and take my chances of being shot... than live in a nation where only the "ruling class" has the guns, and I have no way of protecting myself or my family from thugs and for politicians who I can't trust. Keep America Free!!!

It has been posted elsewhere that Police have no duty to protect you...if, by chance, one or more is at the scene then their heroism will kick in (most of the time) and they will do what needs to be done...other than that, it's interviews and marking chalk lines around the bodies...
So you NEED to protect yourself..that includes situational awareness and not placing yourself in dangerous situations...and carrying a gun when possible...plus AVOID gun free zones, which are now becoming 'free fire zones'...
This from a 35 year policeman....

Where terrorist of whatever sort cannot access guns, they resort to killing by guns, trucks/motor vehicles, bombs, machetes, farming implements, knives, steel tipped boots and wooden poles, acid etc.etc . It is not the fault of the weapons but of the terrorists who used them for the purpose.
