Stock futures fell on Monday night, adding to Wall Street’s losses from its worst day of 2019 amid intensifying trade-war fears. Dow Jones Industrial Average futures traded 358 points lower, implying a loss of 480.74 points at Tuesday’s open. S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100 futures also indicated sharp losses. If these losses remain, the Dow’s two-day decline would amount to more than 1,300 points. Once again Wall Street over reacts. They will continue to over react tomorrow. This happens all time. The market will recover.

Probably. This is totally overdone. Futures are notoriously fickle. Who here remembers what the Futures markets looked like around midnight after the 2016 elections? Down 8-10%... The open the next day? Huge rally. Not saying this is going to definitely happen, but I would not extrapolate much from the Futures markets for tomorrow's open just yet.

So, China devalues their currency, but not as much as they did after the 2008 Financial Crisis, and Wall Street over-reacts. Or, should I say the computers over-react? Factories are not receiving Purchase Orders in a host of China factories, companies are finding alternative sourcing for many products, so China pulls the currency devaluation lever? 10% tariff won't make much of a difference to most China exports, considering the factory takes some, the buyer takes some and the consumer takes some of the hit. China was losing some low-cost factories with TPP pending, and with the pollution issues, they have been looking to move those factories somewhere else too. They will still retain the higher-end products that require more skill and quality.

FWIW, my advisor is likening 2020 to 1832. The banks disliked Andrew Jackson then as much as they do Trump now, and he's recommending going on defense until the election is over.

The Dow is still waaaay up from when Pres. Trump was elected. These Wall Streeters are crybaby wimps. Just in the last few weeks, the Dow broke a record anticipating a rate drop from the Fed. When they got it, it was ho-hum, what have you done for me lately.

Shades of the October 1987 'crash' when the market fell 508 points to 1738? After some Japanese investors dumped stock in profit-taking, the price was lower so the money the made was re-invested the next day to BUY more stock at a lower price so they could buy MORE shares for less money-- We have seen this kind of volatile trading before, and that is the way of the market-- but it does seem artificially HIGH and in need of correction. 508 point in ratio to 1700 seems a lot worse than 780 of 25,717

After President Donald Trump drew attention to Baltimore, some of his supporters went down to West Baltimore to assist with a cleanup effort. The group posted pictures of the effort with before and after photos and found some interesting things along the way. According to OANN, the group was led by activist Scott Presler, who lead over 100 volunteers after the controversy first arose in the media. Presler said his cleanup effort started with a simple tweet about going to clean up Baltimore, even if it’s just by himself.

Former President Barack Obama issued a statement Monday expressing grief for the families of the victims of the El Paso, Texas, and Dayton, Ohio, shooting massacres and calling for people to reject language from leaders “that feeds a climate of fear and hatred or normalizes racist sentiments.” “Even if details are still emerging, there are a few things we already know to be true,” Obama tweeted on Monday. “First, no other nation on Earth comes close to experiencing the frequency of mass shootings that we see in the United States. No other developed nation tolerates the levels of gun violence that we do.

People must switch from meat-heavy Western diets to vegetarian or vegan diets to avert climate change, a United Nations-backed report has warned. By 2050, the world will need to produce 56% more food than in 2010, to feed a predicted 9.8 billion people. If the level of meat and dairy consumption rises in line with current trends, 2.3 million square miles of forest will need to be converted for agriculture. Our system of producing food already accounts for between 25-30% of greenhouse gases, the UN’s Creating a Sustainable Food Future report warned. John Solomon recently broke the news that former FBI director James Comey will soon face a “reckoning” for leaking memos of his conversations with the president. Solomon means Comey will be embarrassed by an imminent inspector general report containing stern language. Solomon does not mean that Comey will face any legal consequences, however, because “prosecutors working for Attorney General William Barr reportedly have decided to decline prosecution.” Many recognize Comey as a central figure in the Russia collusion hoax, the U.S. Department of Justice’s interference in the 2016 election, and subsequent resistance to the transfer of power to President Trump. It’s frustrating for knowledgeable observers to see Comey’s elite status

Kavanaugh’s time working in the White House for President George W. Bush. The move gives House Democrats a chance to relitigate the partisan confirmation battle through the committee’s oversight efforts. The New York Democrat said the Senate Judiciary Committee failed to review documents from Justice Kavanaugh’s time as a staff secretary in the White House from 2003 to 2006. Former Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Charles E. Grassley, Iowa Republican, had requested documents related to Justice Kavanaugh’s work in the White House Counsel’s office from 2001 to 2003.
