President Donald Trump addressed a large rally crowd in Cincinnati, Ohio, on Thursday evening, telling them that Democrats had mis-governed many big cities — especially in California.
Trump said:
The conditions in Nancy Pelosi’s once-great city of San Francisco are deplorable.
[Crowd boos]
They’re deplorable. Do you remember the word “deplorable”?
Crowd: Yeah!
Do you remember when Hillary used the word “deplorable” — she used two words. She used “deplorable” and “irredeemable.” And only being a politician for a few years. I said, “What a terrible mistake that she used the word “irredeemable.” But it turned out to be “deplorable.” “Deplorable” was not a good day for Hillary.

I hope that he keeps this up, nailing every single demonrat run hellhole in the country - Detroit, St. Louis, DC, NYC, Newark, and on and on and on, making the left defend every one of them. He has them so twisted up and they are so knee-jerk in their desire to go after him that they will leap right into every trap he sets for them.

I lived in the LA area from 91-96. The roads were well maintained and landscaped. The trash was picked up and the worst esthetic issue was graffiti.
I went back in 07. I was shocked at tge decline. The smog is worse. The graffiti is worse. The highway landscaping was dead and the roads were deteriorating. I havent been back since.

Make the Dems defend their running of LA and SanFran into the sewer - literally.
Anybody who is there knows how horrible it is, and this may be an opening for alternative ideas of government when the current folks have so massively, obviously, and "impossible ot hide" failed on a grand scale.

California is the distribution center for cheap Chinese products. That funnels a lot of money into pockets of crooked politicians, unions, and business. That is another reason why California wants all the illegal immigrants- cheap labor. Menial jobs in ports, warehouses, and related jobs are paid cheap wages, but unions charge the same, as if they were good paying jobs for citizens. Of course, unions support, and fund, crooked politicians.

Why, exactly, would President Trump “hammer … the whole State, for cultural, moral and political collapse? A bit heavy handed. The whole State is not Democrat. Are the nearly 5 million Republicans and a similar number of No Party Preference registered voters to be mindlessly trashed because of what has happened to Democrat cities San Francisco and Los Angeles?
One more time: Democrat voters outnumber the Republicans. Have for some time. Many of those Democrats came from elsewhere, as California was for many, many decades a Republican state. Many of us have lived here all of our lives, and our forebears before us for generations. Put the broad brushes away.

As for the Los Angeles area, I don’t know where others have lived in the past and now there is no trash pickup. Ours is collected twice a week. Our streets are swept once a week. We are required to keep our properties cleaned up and well-maintained. Our streets are resurfaced every few years (they are doing areas near us now; did ours two years ago).
When I read some LDotter reports, I am puzzled. Where are these awful places they have lived that are now so badly declined?

#6 Fellow native Californian here. My town is beautiful and well maintained in Northern California and I have friends who live in the beautiful neighborhood of Rancho Palos Verdes in Los Angeles. Our state is a beautiful place, but as someone who had to go into SF once a month, and does visit other parts of LA regularly, both areas have gone seriously down hill in places. I really feel like the worst thing that has happened here recently was when they make all the elections a one party race with that law that they passed. Dreadful and life changing. We are almost certain to be run by the horrid left wingers now for all time. We have to convince over 2 million registered demonrats to vote R. It could happen, but it would be another RINO like Arnie for sure. Still better than Gavin or Harris. Anyway I support President Trump going after democrat run failures, like Gavin and other states with horrible leadership. It does not make it easier to be a R living here though, that is for sure.

The UN has a goal to eliminate open defecation by 2025. Areas around the world with open defecation include India, Indonesia, Pakistan, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Sudan, Niger, Nepal, China, Mozambique, San Francisco, Los Angeles.

#6,40 million people in California, and you say 5 million Republicans. So, one person in 8 or 12.5% are Republicans.
That is pretty grim, sorry to say. Born in Cali, moved away a long time ago, still have friends and family, visit several times most years, but always happy to leave the madness and ubiquitous illegals everywhere.
He is hammering a state which is apparently 7/8ths supporting Marxist, destructive policies, across the board. I am sure he isn't intending to target the few Republicans left, but when they become that small a minority, all generalities about the state are not applicable to them.

#6/7: Don't take it personal. ''California'' refers to the state's government entities and their political malfeasance. You must admit that what was said is true.

Those who would deal in voter statistics should know that all of the population does not vote. Here are facts, always a good idea:

Having been at LCom since almost Day One, we have heard for years reports from LDotters who say they moved away from California. But not many. Only one that I recall was here as a serviceman’s wife years ago and said they lived in a trailer park in the area between San Diego and the Mexican border. The others have never said just where they had lived. Why they left. Tends to give a distorted picture. Were they they natives with family here or had they come for some reason and decided it was not for them?
In all the decades we have lived here - and our large families before us - with a large combined circle of friends - we have known only a small handful of acquaintances who left, some to live near their children and grandchildren who had relocated due to employment. We have lived in California all of our lives except for a brief period in 1960 when we lived in Seattle due to employment. It didn’t take long for us to realize that Seattle, lovely as it was back then, was not for us. We have travelled all of the United States except Alaska and never found another place where we would want to live.
We are not familiar with the mass flight that some seem to believe is occurring.
Our community is very nice. Lovely homes from large to modest. Highly-rated schools. Great medical facilities. Great, varied shopping at all levels. The entire area where it is located is not what some seem to believe (the media again?) is decayed or decaying. That just isn’t so.
And where else can you plant a tomato in March and harvest by June? Have lemons, oranges, and avocadoes growing in one’s backyard? No storm doors? No tornado cellars?
We are told to “lighten up” when LDotters go after us. I would suggest that those who seem to revel in California-bashing do the same… There are some serious political flaws here. Now tell us about how wonderful your home is and why you believe it is so… Fair and balanced….

Please, never take slams on "California" as slams on good, sensible people who live there, it is mostly
intended to be referring to the government and the extremists. Nothing personal, especially on LDotters.
I know three people who are leaving Cali, ASAP. One worked in the Hollywierd motion picture industry his whole career, will be selling this month and moving to Arkansas. Another is a retired LEO from San Bernardino, family arrived in the 1850s, moving to AZ soon, perhaps a year. The third is moving to Idaho, as soon as his wife, a CHP dispatcher retires in a few months. He is also recently retired LEO.
And another friend was also in the motion picture industry in LA, moved to Arkansas about 4 years ago when he retired.
A young friend is stationed in San Diego, USMC. He just shook his head when I asked him a week ago, home on leave, about "how is California". No chance he would settle down there, as so many service men did after WW2.
My family left decades ago. Normals moving out, dingbats, leftists, illegals and homosexuals moving in because they like what is happening in California. It is a self-sorting process, to some extent.

Trump did exactly as I had hoped last night. He should continue to hammer SF and LA and the whole State, for cultural, moral and political collapse. He should use the bully pulpit to talk about the failure of their socialist and communist policies.
