The decision not to prosecute former FBI Director James Comey over his deliberate leaks to the media isn’t a sign of weakness or lack of will, but of the professionalism and well-reasoned restraint of President Trump’s Department of Justice. Attorney General Bill Barr’s number one goal since taking the helm at the DOJ has been to restore the impartial and professional ethos that has characterized that agency for more than 200 years.(Snip)Before this “investigation of the investigators” is over, there will undoubtedly be many cases of misconduct that warrant criminal prosecution. Comey’s, however, was not one of them.
Who conservative people are guilty, don't you know that?

OK, I'll buy this, but at some point, Comey needs to go to prison.

There's checkers, there's chess, and there's the n-dimensionality long game of a New York real estate mogul and his minions, which is what we have operating here.
In time the old edifice will come down and new one will be built, to code.
Chill.

Agree, #3, but he will need to go to prison on an absolutely clear-cut case. Comey's memo leaking might be a bit too ambiguous to qualify as clear-cut illegality.
E.g. Comey could claim the memos were personal "memoirs," not classified; and that besides, even if classified, he had the power to declassify them.
We all know these were evil deeds ... but I believe it's doubtful they could be successfully prosecuted.

Barr knows that the enemy want us to go for Comey's jugular. As Kruge said to Kirk in the Search for Spock: Because you wish it.

I've always figured Comey would be the first to go down; he's definitely the dumbest of the bunch and will likely sing like a scalded parakeet when the time comes.
Kind of like a Joe Valachi in diapers and training wheels.

When the DOJ has to spin a narrative, I wonder if they are doing their jobs. Why does it take a day to commit a crime, but 3 years for the DOJ to investigate it--and decide not to prosecute it? There have been 2 criminal referrals to the DOJ, Comey and McCabe, and the DOJ has decided not to prosecute in both cases. That is just not impressive to me, despite the unwelcome narrative. Please, in future, do your job, and then days of spin will be unnecessary.

Either Comey violated federal statutes given his actions or he didn't. But, this must be one item of many on the list of his transgressions. Why did this decision come out now? Ok I get it.

I hope DiGenova is right about justice being served-there was TREASON comitted and proper justice needs to be meted out. It goes all the way back to Obama so if it takes another year or two to get to him, well, it'll be a fun ride to say the least.

Just because the DOJ isn't bringing charges now, does not mean they can't tack them on to future charges.Keep your powder dry.

One correction here - McCabe didn't lose his pension. He lost the enhanced part of it, given to those federal employees serving in risky jobs.
His misconduct was the reason for the loss.(please correct me if I am wrong.)

Now that Mueller's testimony is over the President and his team are free to begin the process of going after all the bad apples in administrations past. Had they begun too soon they would have been accused of obstruction and retaliation. Also they want to wait untl Dan Coats, another swamper, leaves on the fifteenth. Once Ratcliffe is the DNI Barr will have someone in that position who is not working to protect people; I think they will start the DECLAS some time toward the end of August or September.
Regarding the continuing saga of "Where Did THAT Money Go??' don't be surprised to see the Red Cross hit the news soon. I've seen photos of dozens of Red Cross boxes filled to the brim with cash.
We've known for a long time that the RC was suspicious; so it's about time they have the spotlight shine on them.
I'm choosing to be patient; I believe we will see arrests and prosecutions and not only of the small fry.

I hope you're right, Joe. If several big fish aren't made an example by being sent to prison, the Deep State will have won. They'll get right on with subverting what's left of rule by the people, and there will be no stopping them.

I don't care if it was a weak case. This dirt bag needs to be squeezed like Flynn and Manafort and made to cry uncle and give up the rest of the plotters. He needs to be thoroughly disgraced and financially ruined. Anything less is a gross miscarriage of justice.

Yeah, it's early in the game, but I've got a feeling this the first of many disappointments to come. The deep state never misses an opportunity to cover itself.

Heads must roll (be thrown into an actual jail, not a white-collar one) for justice to be served and faith restored to the CIA and the rest of the 'intelligence community', the FBI, and the rest of the DOJ.

No one in the Obama regime will be prosecuted by Trump’s DoJ. Not Comey, not McCabe, not Lynch, not Brennan, not Clapper and certainly not Hillary or Obama. After 32 months of zero prosecutions by Trump’s DoJ to believe that there will be indictments and actual justice is sheer fantasy. Joe diGenova is deceiving himself and us.
AG Barr’s decision not to prosecute Comey is no different than AG Sessions decision not to prosecute the IRS’ Lois Lerner in 2017. For reasons I cannot understand, all of the Obama officials who violated federal laws are exempt from federal prosecution. As much as I want to be proven wrong, I won’t be.

Is Barr turning into Sessions?
The GOP bends over backwards, handles the Liberal cases with two pairs of white satin gloves.
Meanwhile, the Dems are throwing Trumps men behind cold steel bars. Manafort, Cohen, maybe Flynn too. So disappointing!
