Black babies in the US are still more than twice as likely to die in infancy as are white babies, disheartening new data reveal.
In 2017, 22,341 American infants died before their first birthdays, according to the numbers released Thursday by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). But whereas less than five out of every 1,000 white infants perished, nearly 11 out of every 1,000 black babies lost their lives. Infant mortality rates in the US have fallen year-over-year since 2005 but, as is the case with so many public health gains, this improvement doesn't apply to all Americans equally.

Any mention that 60% of black pregnancies in NYC end in abortion?

Leading causes of preeclampsia are obesity and chronic hypertension, both much more common in black women. It’s nothing to do with racism, Trump, or climate change.

"Some experts have even suggested that the stress of racism in the US itself may be driving the differences in life and death between black women and infants and their white counterparts."
This expert poster suggests that the death of black babies is contributed solely to leftists' racism, policies of inequality, and decimation of black communities in democrat governed cities across America.

Bad stats not taking into account the clear reasons for the deaths. Dealing with drugs causing premature births is not an easy problem to solve, this is a misleading article but then what else is new. The press is always looking for the race card in the deck. Maybe it is a lifestyle choice and maybe the choices the mother's make during pregnancy have something to do with the ability of the child to survive. The comparisons to other nations is also skewed in that many nations don't even count premature infants in their death totals. We are much more likely to try to keep an infant alive therefore our stats look worse. We have 1 1/2 lb babies survive which is not likely if you are somewhere else in the world. Sooo again the press trying to make us look bad but let's keep lifting the curtain to see the truth. We certainly can't depend on them to give it to us.

Are there ever articles in The Daily Mail critical of the cultures in Britain? Maybe
We are lucky in the U.S. where we still have a semblance of free speech in the public square, so I think it may be easier for a British publication to criticize our cultures than their own. I was saddened, though, when I recently read that a quotation from Saint Augustine (of all people) was declared verboten by one of the social medias. It occurred to me that Big Tech is not necessarily made up of organizations that wish to promote free speech in the public square, We may soon become like Britain where certain kinds of independent thought are declared verboten.

After the Daily Mail drops its blockbuster clickbait headline, and a few paragraphs of statistics, they finally get to some of the reasons. Chronic and genetic disease, conditions like hypertension and pre-eclampsia in the mothers, insufficient medical care (we have been told that blacks do not trust white doctors, so this is not a fault of the system), poor nutrition in the mother (due to poor eating choices, not lack of food), and so on. And then the drugs mentioned by some. But even without the drugs, their health is not generally as good, they don’t take care of themselves…
The DM is a tabloid that has decided it is fun to tinker around with America, create problems if it makes for a big headline.

A poorly explained issue with a eye catching headline.
There are hints in the article that many of the problems are due to poor maternal health or a bad lifestyle in general. Hispanics have only slightly higher mortality than whites. Don't they supposedly suffer from racism as well?
This is the typical garbage that looks at an outcome and assigns it a popular cause without the slightest proof. The same type of thing that says Blacks make less money without noting that Blacks fail to get a good education or seek jobs in areas that pay more and are more challenging. Women are collectively paid less than men but they eschew jobs in high paying fields like technology because it doesn't appeal to them.
People make bad or alternative choices and the outcome is poor or not as good compared to others. It's not a surprise. It's how life works.

If you ran the study comparing Democrat to Republican voters, the same would hold true, I bet. If you included abortion as a factor, you would wonder why the Dems arent going extinct.

This isn't scientific, anyway. Science sets up control studies. This is the same abuse we get with nutritionists, when they ask 1000 people what they had most often for breakfast over the last 30 years and conclude eggs cause heart disease, without checking for any other contributing factor.
Never mind that most people can't list what they've eaten in any past week!
Scientific fraud.

I have read that some pre-teen black girls become sexually active, get pregnant before their first period occurs, don't know they missed their period because they never had one, thus not going to an OB/GYN until well into the advanced stages of pregnancy. Children having children - higher rate of complications. Smoking and drinking and using drugs during that time frame contribute to the mortality problem.
There has to be a change in lifesryle.
(I had an appointment with an orthopedic surgeon, on the floor of a building where there was also an OB/GYN practice. It was shocking to see so many young girls, young and pregnant. And most of them were black. And in some urban middle schools, baby care is provided!)

The DM forgot to mention gang related deaths due to bullets flying through the inner cities as a cause of infant mortality. How many times have we read about infants being killed in drive-by shootings or being killed on their porches or in their homes by their fellow hoodies having a shoot-out in the street?

OP hits the nail on the head. The boyfriends are often accused and proven to be bad guys. Kill babies that aren’t their own. But I will agree that health of the mother is critical in good fetal outcomes. Back in the day, I worked in neonatal intensive care.

The CDC can not prevent anybody from dying of lead poisoning either, the powder-projected kind. It wasn't clear, did they include abortion as murder or is it still a "procedure?"

"Don't they supposedly suffer from racism as well?" (Hispanics). #9 poses an interesting question that is actually provable. If you are white, choose any large city in the US on a Friday night. Walk down the main street of a black neighborhood. If you survive that experience, walk down the street in a Hispanic neighborhood. Assuming that you survive the many incidents of harassment, attempted solicitations, robberies and physical confrontations, walk down the street of a white neighborhood. Odds of being accosted in some way in scenarios 1 or 2, 100 percent. Odds of NOT being accosted in the white neighborhood, 100 percent. Now who be raciss?

Due to chronic diseases and obesity.
I wonder whose fault that obesity is? Must be Trump's fault.

The self-styled experts can't explain why this is true, even when controlling for income differences. It can't possibly be unhealthy lifestyles or drug use or failing to follow doctors orders or being unmarried, and they gloss right over the "unintentional injuries" slot (angry boyfriends). The consensus, then? Post-traumatic stress caused by racism! It had to be either white people or global warming.
