Yesterday the Department of Justice sent a letter to Special Counsel Robert Mueller informing him it is appropriate to stay within the boundaries of his 448 page report during testimony on Capitol Hill Wednesday morning.
"Please note that there should be no testimony concerning the redacted portions of the public version of the report, which may not be disclosed because of applicable laws, court rules and orders," the letter states. "Any testimony must remain within the boundaries of your public report because matters within the scope of your investigation were covered by executive privilege, including information protected by law enforcement, deliberative process, attorney work product, and presidential communications privileges.

The Republicans should set up a perjury trap during the questioning of Mueller today. Give him a dose of his own game to see how he likes it when he is on the other end of the trap

I read the first 100 pages of Herr Mueller's report last night (I expected to finish it last night, but my elderly eyes let me down) and make this observation about Russian attempts to influence the 2016 presidential election.
Yes, they did.
Is there evidence of conspiracy on the part of the Trump campaign?
No, there isn't.
What I read confirms something I know about political campaigns. There are all sorts of characters who make themsel;ves important by pursuing lines of communication and a book full of important contacts, which, in turn, allows the campaign groupies to puff themselves up in the eyes of the candidates. Every campaign, dimocrat or republican, has these characters. (I had a classmate who worked in Albany, NY, and was a political campaign volunteer. During the 1976 campaign, she drove Rosalyn Carter from the Albany airport to a downtown event. My classmate explained to me how important it was to have that sort of time with Rosalyn, because she could tell Rosalyn how things should be handled.)
When we add in the fact that DJT was a developer of real estate, and had discussed the possibility of a Trump Tower in Moscow, and a few people, including Michael Cohen wanted the project to happen, there were lots of contacts with Russians. Duh.
My tentative conclusion, which could change after reading the other 300 pages, is that this entire episode is a joke. It is important for the ruling class to keep businessmen out of politics, and the best way to do that is to assault DJT's reputation.
The dimocrats should be laughed out of D.C.

Obviously another cya moment for Mueller, and I am sure he will do plenty of damage via implications drawn and his demeanor in any case. This is a no win......

If you look at the actual letter from DOJ, it opens with the FACT that Mueller ASKED for guidelines for his testimony. Further, the guidelines are the standards that have long been in existence, which Mueller already should be quite familiar with. Mueller, being an incompetent coward, can now fall back on the letter as reasons for why he can't go on an unhinged political rant. However, there are no special expectations, just limits of law and common sense. Mueller was acting as part of DOJ as he did his work and he is bound by laws and department regulations.
Nadless' faux fury is a pathetic joke, yet it is a view to what these hearing are really all about. It will be a screenplay about how awful Trump is, produced by dems/Left/media. It is a profane and deceitful piece but thankfully it will be a limited engagement and will close shortly with lackluster reviews.

Mueller’s testimony today so far has been a joke. While Mueller has been repeatedly saying that he can’t get into the internal deliberations that took place inside the Justice Department during the course of his investigation. But it appears that Mueller’s obstruction of justice case against President Trump so far is all about internal deliberations that the President had with his staff in the White House that never resulted in Mueller being fired or Mueller’s investigation being obstructed in anyway. So in the end you have to conclude that Trump at the end of his internal deliberations took the advise of his legal counsel and his staff resulting in no actual obstruction of the Mueller investigation, in addition Mueller was never fired by the President, and remained in his position until his investigation ended. Common sense will tell you that in order to reach a final decision regarding almost any matter, any President must be able to hold deliberations with his staff to reach a final decision, and after those deliberations ended it is the President’s final decision is what is important. If the Justice Department is entitled to keep its internal deliberations confidential, why should not the President who under the Constitution is in ultimate charge of the Department of Justice also be entitled to keep his internal deliberations confidential that never ended up with any actual crime being committed. So far Congressman Radcliffe's questioning has been the star of the show.
