Streaming giant Netflix lost subscribers in the United States for the first time in nearly a decade, dropping a net 130,000 over the second quarter of 2019 while also adding nearly two million fewer customers than predicted.
Although overall paid subscribers rose by 2.7 million, this was well below Netflix’s target of adding five million subscribers worldwide. The platform also lost 130,000 subscribers across the United States, marking the first decline since 2011 — sending the company’s stock tumbling by over 12 percent in after-hours trading.
“Our missed forecast was across all regions, but slightly more so in regions with price increases,” Netflix CEO Reed Hastings wrote in a letter to shareholders.

It's a lie! They are NOT losing subs! The brilliant 0bama is producing content for them so their subscriber base is growing!

Not that it made a big difference to them, but when we dropped Netflix, I told them exactly why. All we can do is vote with our feet.

I dumped Netflix about five years ago when they were beginning to go hard left. Their original series shows and movie selections sucked in my opinion (and they've gotten worse based on what I've read), and about the only thing I found useful about them was I could binge-watch Breaking Bad. Once I finished the series *BOOM* taste my nightstick.

If they're losing subscribers, you can thank their cozying up to Obozo

I cancelled Netflix when they doubled their fees years ago. Haven't missed it.

I have Netflix. My observations include:
Fewer new releases
A massive increase in Bollywood and foreign language films.

I have a more basic complaint. Netflix brought the end to video stores, where you could go to browse, find a movie, whether it be classic or just something to take a chance on some Friday night, take it home and watch it for a fee. No subscription.
Well, Netflix first had the mail service, which was ok, but shuttered most video stores. Then it put the emphasis on streaming, which meant we could watch nearly any movie by clicking it up. Not! Like Amazon Prime, it is hard to find a movie to watch that you don't have to pay an extra fee for. What the heck! What is my subscription for if I have to pay extra for a particular movie that I want to watch? And now, they are selectively banning movies that are not PC. Where will that end?
I'd rather go back to the local video store, where I paid for what I wanted to watch without a monthly subscription.

Ignore your customers and suffer the consequences. The economy is booming but Netflix and Disney are missing customers. Duh.

They went left and I cancelled. I was going to anyway because I had watched most everything I wanted to and their lineup was stale. Then came the virtue signalling with Obama and Rice but what probably cost them was the fee increase. There is a point where the cost of something is not worth the benefit and Netflix seems to be bumping that ceiling. I don't use Google and am about to drop Facebook. I am no luddite and the internet can be a wonderful thing but every useful thing can have a dark side to it.

I've subscribed to Netflix for far too long. The level of trash they are now pedalling is barf inducing. I stream some shows, but most of what I want is by mail, DVDs. Hollywood can't get out of the dumpster.

So far I have been able to ignore most of the more Leftist programming on Netflix, Hulu and the like. But Netflix is deliberately making it harder to do as a subscriber. Luckily, most of the things like Obamaflix will be in their Original Programming category and with few exceptions, like The Crown and Longmire, that section is mostly avoided.

Netflix has a company policy that is similar to the policy that lets my elected senators and representatives totally ignore my wishes. Luckily, I could vote with my pocketbook to tell Netflix to hit the road. If they didn't notice my departure, mine was only a steady 8-bucks a month. Before I quit working, that $8 was not a big investment for the fun of watching elderly movies. Now it is a top-off for gas tank. I don't miss Netflix. I hope it is mutual. It was apparanly worth it to them to let Barrack bankrupt the house.

My family and most friends cancelled when we read about the Obama payoff. We will not support anything having to do with him and his stinking family!

I had decided to get a Netflix subscription when I heard about the Obama deal, and immediately nixed that idea. Anyone who can support The Zero like that is not someone I want to support.
