Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand teared up in front of a crowd of progressives after admitting that she benefitted in her life from “enormous amounts of white privilege.” During the Netroots Nation conference in Philadelphia over the weekend, the New York senator told a story about a poor, white mother she recently met in Youngstown, Ohio, who couldn’t understand the concept of “white privilege.” “This conversation about white privilege is so important because what she doesn’t see is that as her son grows older, as my sons grow older, there’s going to be moments in his life that his whiteness protects

The White Devil may be paying attention to Federal Uniform Crime reports and simply using good risk Management techniques when he doesn't answer the door.

You know something, Sen. Gillibrand, you don't get to choose where you come from. You only are responsible for where you go with it. So why feel guilty about something, the circumstances of your birth, that's not your doing. I sure as heck don't.

Really? Her son's "whiteness" will prevent him from being discriminated against when applying for a job?
Affirmative Action has guaranteed that he is the least desirable hire. Minorities must be hired. Women must be hired. LGBTQXYZ must be hired. HB1 visa holders must be hired. Muslims must be hired. Hispanics must be hired. Only after all the boxes above are checked will your son even be considered for a job.
Or admission to any of today's colleges and universities. The only people more discriminated against than white males are Asians.

Somehow “Whiteness” keeps some White boys from doing drugs and committing violent crimes as much as other boys, and they should feel guilty about that (as opposed to feeling guilty about doing drugs and violent crimes). Should Black Americans feel guilty about their Blackness making them taller and taking a disproportionate number of positions in the MBA? How does all this work?

Either Gillebrand is pandering to black voters or she is monumentally stupid.
Nowhere in the article does she acknowledge the effects of behaviors. Many black communities are rife with gang violence, drug use and trafficking, fatherless households, teenage and out-of-wedlock mothers, lack of marketable skills needed by employers, etc. Instead of addressing these significant issues, blacks frequently criticize other blacks for "acting white."
Blacks can and should address problems in their own communities and perhaps they will overcome them and earn the American privilege to which they are entitled.

White priviledge is a term used to make excuses for other's bad life decisions. I don't believe in white privelidge but I do believe in black dysfunction. Why are there so many unsolved murders in the black communities acoss the nation? Why is the black school dropout rate so high? Why is single parenthood so high in black communities? In spite of years of racist, anti-white affirmative action laws, the problems of the blacks can all be laid at the feet of failed Democratic policies. No person of color should vote Democrat-or any other person for that matter.

I'd have never worked 14 to 16 hour days and been separated from my family for long periods of time, if I'd known that I could have everything I have with just white privilege.

Kristen, your white privilege did not get you Hillary's Senate seat. It's the fact what you "did" to / for Bill Clinton. That, madam, is the oldest profession - not white privilege.

Guess what? Your Parents and Grandparents and Great Grandparents suffered and saved and built,
so you could have White privilege - which just means that you enjoy the fruits of their labor. You did not
get here through the fruits of some exploited person of color. You got here by the sweat and sacrifice
of your family. And, you are incredibly UNGRATEFUL!

I've been a white dude for...umm...all my life now, and I'll admit to one very big white male privilege. I know that I'm on my own and if I want to succeed, I'll have to do it myself. That's a big motivator. The stupid left doesn't realize how much harm they do to minorities by treating them like infants. I guess they don't care.

White privilege is an argument to make white people shut up. Democrats don't take that argument to West Virginia, or Central PA, anywhere in the South, or outside of most states that border on water. Everyone struggles in life. "White Privilege" is identity politics writ large and just another way to divide us.

I almost got in an argument with a white person today because I said Why don't you talk about "Black privilege" ? I was shot down "because there is no such thing. Sure there is. It's called Affirmative Action.
Try naming something with "White" in the sentence.

Per Gillebrand's feeble and teary premise, she should resign from her stolen position as a US senator and halt her ridiculous quest for the presidency. Hand over her wealth to Persons of Color too, you hypocrite.
