Will wonders never cease. One of the most dysfunctional elements in our notoriously dysfunctional immigration system is the ability of municipalities to declare themselves “sanctuary cities.” In essence, this means that cities refuse to cooperate with efforts by ICE to apprehend and deport illegal aliens, (Snip) Where my line is drawn is when these goons demand that the federal government take my money to support their effort. That was the issue in a case called City of Los Angeles vs. William Barr that was decided yesterday in the Ninth Circuit. The Justice Department awards several billion dollars in grants

The popular police chief in nearby Pasadena, CA, tried a stunt. Would not go sanctuary city but did the next best thing, pledging total noncooperation with ICE. And boldly told the world that he didn’t care if Pasadena didn’t get the $300,000 the DoJ would have given in a grant for police programs. Chief Sanchez is gone.

Isn't this President Trump wins a victory over the formerly ridiculous 9th circuit court which suddenly seems to have gone a bit conservative?

I predict when President Trump is reelected and the Senate Majority is further increased and the House is back with a Republican majority that future 9th Circuit judges appointed will make this appeals court the most conservative in the country. At that point the radical left Dems will be jumping off sky scrapers in LA and San Francisco.

We had to wait a few weeks to see how the Beijing communists and Xi Jinping hardliners were positioned for new trade talks; and now things make sense. Initially it seemed at odds with Beijing’s prior position to restart U.S-China trade negotiations with Vice-Premier Liu He. The prior three months of negotiation came to a collapse when Beijing resoundingly rejected the trade terms organized by Liu He. If the Red Dragon was so opposed to conciliatory terms, why would team Xi restart with the same negotiator? Now it makes sense, they didn’t.
