Labor Secretary Alexander Acosta resigned Friday amid growing backlash over his handling of the 2008 sex abuse prosecution of billionaire Jeffrey Epstein. Speaking to reporters outside the White House Friday morning, President Trump said Acosta offered to resign to spare the administration from any distractions associated with the mounting scandal surrounding the lenient sentence Epstein received from then-U.S. attorney Acosta in 2008.

Hate that, as it's unfair, but with Acosta out, the Democrat Media Complex doesn't have a Republican available upon which to pin the blame for the Epstein evil.

In DC, were the Sun raises in the West and up is down, doing the right thing is always the wrong thing to do. No good deed by a REbublican shall go unpunished. Sad. Beat less happens to Slick.

Admittedly, I haven't been following this too closely, but I do hate to see the hyenas on the left win on this. Its just an invitation to keep trying with other targets in the admin.

I am angry. Acosta should have remained in office. No reason whatsoever for him to resign.
My message to Dems: MAGA, MAGA, MAGA!

With Acosta gone, the Epstein story will drop like a stone from the news. Tomorrow it will be "Jeffrey who????"

The presser with President Trump with Acosta standing right by him to make the announcement is exactly the right way to handle this.
Acosta is wrongfully accused but he was also slow walking regulation changes that Trump wanted implemented immediately. I look at his stepping aside as a help to the MAGA agenda. As Matt Schlapp outlined this morning, top NY Democrat prosecutors did NOTHING to Epstein and wanted less punishment than Acosta did.

Let Trump replace him with someone more agressive and hawkish. A display of power is trhe only thing that bullies respect.

He served his purpose, he brought out the fact that Epstein was "protected" by the deep state. Job well done sir, thank you.

The disgraceful press will never be professional Journalists as long as they remain left of center and not get back to the middle of the road

I'd have said screw 'em. The local Democrat DA dropped the ball and Acosta in the US Attorney's office at least made a small batch of chicken salad out of the chicken droppings that the Democrat DA and his henchmen left for him.
Media whores and Democrats just smell blood in the water. Trump kicked the human vermin out of his club (as a private citizen). More than Clinton or any Democrat ever did.

so, now it comes out that the State of Fla prosecutors had a 53 page indictment on Epstein. They were marching forward with a case that would have exposed everything. Epstein must have made a call- To Obama, or to Clinton and said, "Help me or else the world gets to watch your hubby playing nasty with a naked13 year old Filipino female child (Obama ...hope and change- right?). In rushes Acosta suddenly, late in the game, actually, and rescues what he could for Epstein. That played pretty sourly even in 2008...but, it kept the "Horndog" out of the limelight and by connection, his soon-to-be Presidential Candidate harridan of a wife- again! Something big is in this and I suspect it is about to be splashed all over the place. No telling how many rats are licking the business end of a .38.

Thank you #15. That’s my take also. Hope the .38 scenario turns out also.

Seriously Trump? You let a rotten Obamabot head the DHS that is responsible for our security, and let a decent guy like Acosta resign? I just wish some of this would bite Trump on his keister. He really needs to wake up and smell the coffee sometimes. I like Trump, but there are times when he can be especially tone deaf to some issues when it comes to how things play out here.

The wobblers on Acosta - those who have let the media convince them he’s a bad guy - need to go and read two articles, detailed reporting on what actually happened way back then. Both articles have been posted here in the last few days. Use site Search, find them, read them. A little real information is badly needed…
That said, this matter is far too complex for drivebys...

Uh-oh, Schiff & Co., it looks like that issue was just erased. Now what?
It’s back to proving Trump’s collusion with Russia to cheat Hillary, huh?

Our side resigns when in the right. When they commit all kinds of evil, leftists dig in and run for or get appointed to higher office.
