The FBI on Wednesday arrested two former senior officials who served in administration of Puerto Rico Gov. Ricardo Rosselló, leading the chair of the House committee that oversees Puerto Rico to call for the governor to step down. The arrests also spurred concerns on Capitol Hill about the billions of dollars in aid that Congress has approved for the island. The federal indictment says the former officials illegally directed federal funding to politically-connected contractors. The arrests come about a month after Congress approved a controversial disaster aid bill that earmarked additional funding for Puerto Rico’s recovery from Hurricane Maria in 2017, which were tied up in part because President Trump called

This is Haiti all over again, except that the FBI has jurisdiction to make an arrest. The only relief effort I trust with money is Franklin Graham's Samaritan and Southern Baptists who cook meals (NOT red cross)!

I seem to remember San Juan Mayor Carmen Yulín Cruz standing in front of boxes and boxes of aid sent from us to them, screeching "THEY ARE DYING." I wish we would just cut PR loose and let it founder like all the other socialist run hell holes. Nothing but a money pit.

The unfortunate thing is the Puerto Ricans are U.S. citizens and can freely travel to and live in the United States. Conversely, Haiti is merely Haiti's problem. Puerto Rico is ** our ** problem. And there are many who want to make it a state. Of course the Dems would:::::: PR would then be allowed to have voting members of the House and Senate and also have electoral votes. Today they have a basically non-voting "resident commissioner" in the House, nothing in the Senate, and can only participate in electing the President by sending delegates to the primaries.

Trying to actually deport illegal immigrants whom courts have ordered deported is now considered authoritarian. Ken Cuccinelli, a top official at the Department of Homeland Security, made clear that he intended to follow through on President Trump’s plans to remove foreigners in the United States illegally for whom final removal orders have been issued. Cuccinelli said this on national TV on Sunday, and told reporters Wednesday that these operations “absolutely” were going forward. The reader needs to understand the modesty of this undertaking. Nobody is talking about deporting all 10 million illegal immigrants. Cuccinelli isn’t even talking about deporting every illegal immigrant who has been ordered deported by a judge. Cuccinelli

Former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn’s defense attorney Sidney Powell on Thursday blasted the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court for approving a warrant she said is based on flimsy evidence presented a dossier cobbled together by an ex-British spy. Ms. Powell — a fierce critic of special counsel Robert Mueller and the investigation into allegations the Trump campaign conspired with Russia to influence the 2016 election — slammed the court in a speech before the Fund for American Studies, an educational nonprofit. Ms. Powell said it was “beyond an outrage” the court would approve a warrant to spy on Trump campaign figure Cater Page and others based

Long before Jeffrey Epstein pleaded guilty to prostitution charges in Florida more than a decade ago, his fellow Palm Beach resident and hedge-fund manager Douglas Kass was intrigued by the local gossip about his neighbor. “I’m hearing about the parties, hearing about a guy who’s throwing money around,” says Kass, president of Seabreeze Partners Management. While stories about young girls swarming Epstein’s waterfront mansion and the sex parties he hosted for the rich and powerful were the talk of the town, Kass was more focused on how this obscure person, rumored to be managing billions of dollars, had become so wealthy without much of a track record. Pete Buttigieg soared from obscurity to third place (at one time) in the Democratic race for the presidency. His candidacy struck me as interesting for about a week. Then, I realized that he’s just another left-wing Democrat, distinguished from the rest of the field primarily because he happens to be gay. And he has fallen back in the polls. Even at its peak, the Buttigieg campaign faced a huge problem — lack of support from African-Americans. One poll I saw had him at zero percent among this cohort. You can’t make a credible run at the Democratic nomination for president with zero percent black support. Things got even worse

Nancy Pelosi issued a spanking to the enfants terribles of her caucus this week. The corporal punishment elicited more of the temper tantrums that brought about the spanking in the first place. Pelosi, channeling her inner Bill Belichick — the well-known critic of Snapface and Instachat — told The New York Times, “All these people have their public whatever and their Twitter world. But they didn’t have any following. They’re four people and that’s how many votes they got.” In other words, talk is cheap on Capitol Hill, where passing or stopping legislation, and practicing politics as the art of the possible rather than howling Man of La Mancha-style impossible dreams,

HMS Montrose, a British frigate shadowing the tanker British Heritage, was forced to move between the three boats and the tanker, a spokesman said. He described the Iranians' actions as "contrary to international law". Iran had threatened to retaliate for the seizure of one of its own tankers, but denied any attempted seizure. Boats believed to belong to Iran's Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) approached British Heritage and tried to bring it to a halt as it was moving out of the Gulf into the Strait of Hormuz.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents are preparing to conduct raids beginning Sunday to arrest thousands of illegal immigrants across the U.S. just weeks after President Trump announced that he was delaying the operation. The ICE agents will target at least 2,000 immigrants whose deportations have already been ordered, a New York Times report said, citing one former and two current Department of Homeland Security officials. Neither the White House nor ICE immediately responded to emails from Fox News seeking comment. An ICE spokesman declined to comment to the Times to ensure the safety of the department's agents.

Beyond the humanitarian and security catastrophe unfolding at the southern border, there is a another crisis few know about. Migrants have been the focus of the border crisis for months, and with good reason. More than 700,000 people have been taken into custody by Customs and Border Protection (CBP) personnel at and between ports of entry in the first nine months of fiscal 2019, more than the previous 12 months. But less visible are the 14,750 rank-and-file U.S. Border Patrol agents who are forbidden from speaking with the media. They make up around 75% of the 19,500 agents on payroll as of late June, according

Two-thirds of voters approve of a citizenship question on the 2020 census, and that includes a majority of Hispanic voters — despite claims by Democratic lawmakers that the inquiry would discourage participation in Latino communities. A Harvard University Center for American Political Studies/Harris poll found that 67% of all registered U.S. voters say the census should ask the citizenship question when the time comes. That includes 88% of Republicans, 63% of independents and 52% of Democrats. Most notably, the poll found that 55% of Hispanic voters favor the idea. Also in agreement: 74% of rural voters, 59% of black voters, 58% of urban voters and 47% of voters

I don't particularly care for soccer anyway but it was the purple-haired star player Megan Rapinoe who turned me off by spouting her disdain for any White House visit before she was even asked. Did she do that for publicity or was her Trump derangement too deeply entrenched? Stomping on the American flag even accidentally during the World Cup celebration was more proof of her unworthiness to represent our great country.
