Beyond the humanitarian and security catastrophe unfolding at the southern border, there is a another crisis few know about. Migrants have been the focus of the border crisis for months, and with good reason. More than 700,000 people have been taken into custody by Customs and Border Protection (CBP) personnel at and between ports of entry in the first nine months of fiscal 2019, more than the previous 12 months. But less visible are the 14,750 rank-and-file U.S. Border Patrol agents who are forbidden from speaking with the media. They make up around 75% of the 19,500 agents on payroll as of late June, according

Maybe there aren't many applying for the jobs. I wouldn't want one. It seems the job description has changed.

HMS Montrose, a British frigate shadowing the tanker British Heritage, was forced to move between the three boats and the tanker, a spokesman said. He described the Iranians' actions as "contrary to international law". Iran had threatened to retaliate for the seizure of one of its own tankers, but denied any attempted seizure. Boats believed to belong to Iran's Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) approached British Heritage and tried to bring it to a halt as it was moving out of the Gulf into the Strait of Hormuz.

A failing campaign makes a man desperate, and Beto O’Rourke surely is a desperate man. The former Texas congressman was asked this week at roundtable event featuring immigrant and refugee participants to explain how President O'Rourke would fight white supremacy in the United States. "I know this from my home state, Texas, places that formed the Confederacy, that this country was founded on white supremacy,” the poorly polling 2020 Democratic primary candidate responded. He added, “And every single institution and structure that we have in this country still reflects the legacy of slavery and segregation and Jim Crow and suppression, even in our democracy."

The FBI on Wednesday arrested two former senior officials who served in administration of Puerto Rico Gov. Ricardo Rosselló, leading the chair of the House committee that oversees Puerto Rico to call for the governor to step down. The arrests also spurred concerns on Capitol Hill about the billions of dollars in aid that Congress has approved for the island. The federal indictment says the former officials illegally directed federal funding to politically-connected contractors. The arrests come about a month after Congress approved a controversial disaster aid bill that earmarked additional funding for Puerto Rico’s recovery from Hurricane Maria in 2017, which were tied up in part because President Trump called

An intruder was on the loose at Buckingham Palace at 2am this morning while the Queen slept just metres away. The Sun can reveal the man, 22, was able to scale a fence at the front of the building to get inside the 93-year-old monarch’s home, where he was able to attempt to bang down the doors of the residence. Sources say it took police on site around four minutes to apprehend him while they tried to assess whether he was as armed - causing panic within the Palace about the massive security breach.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents are preparing to conduct raids beginning Sunday to arrest thousands of illegal immigrants across the U.S. just weeks after President Trump announced that he was delaying the operation. The ICE agents will target at least 2,000 immigrants whose deportations have already been ordered, a New York Times report said, citing one former and two current Department of Homeland Security officials. Neither the White House nor ICE immediately responded to emails from Fox News seeking comment. An ICE spokesman declined to comment to the Times to ensure the safety of the department's agents.

Two-thirds of voters approve of a citizenship question on the 2020 census, and that includes a majority of Hispanic voters — despite claims by Democratic lawmakers that the inquiry would discourage participation in Latino communities. A Harvard University Center for American Political Studies/Harris poll found that 67% of all registered U.S. voters say the census should ask the citizenship question when the time comes. That includes 88% of Republicans, 63% of independents and 52% of Democrats. Most notably, the poll found that 55% of Hispanic voters favor the idea. Also in agreement: 74% of rural voters, 59% of black voters, 58% of urban voters and 47% of voters

NEW ORLEANS — A panel of federal appeals judges aggressively questioned whether Obamacare can survive during Tuesday afternoon oral arguments in a case that could upend the 2010 health care law. Two Republican appointees on the three-judge panel frequently interrupted attorneys to question whether the Affordable Care Act’s individual mandate is unconstitutional and if not whether the entire law could stand without it. The ACA’s future appeared murky after two hours of oral arguments at the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, but it’s not clear if the judges were ready to uphold a federal judge’s earlier decision invalidating the law.

Hidden behind a wall of secrecy is the truth about what really happened during the FBI and CIA’s joint investigation of the Trump campaign and Russia in 2016. Was it, as former President Barack Obama’s top cop and spy insist, an honest national security probe? Or was it, as Republicans suspect, a domestic political intelligence operation to “dirty up” then-candidate Donald Trump? Attorney General William Barr doesn’t buy the Team Obama story and is investigating the investigation. Special counsel Robert Mueller’s failure to find evidence of “collusion” bolsters Barr’s hunch. Trump’s granted Barr the rare unilateral power to

He can barely suppress a smile here:[video] The snark about him once again finding himself in the same position as Obama is icing on the cake, a kick aimed right at the left’s collective ass. Is it true that Obama’s ancestors owned slaves? It is — more than one ancestor, in fact. It may also be true, though, that not only was Obama descended from American slaves, he was descended from the first American slave. Friday’s June jobs report, with its expectations-shattering gain of 224,000 net jobs (including 17,000 manufacturing jobs) and its 4% unemployment rate (effectively full employment), reinforces what was already popularly understood about the Trump-era economy. Unemployment is historically low. Job creation is historically strong. Wages continue rising under Trump after a long period of stagnation under predecessors of both parties. You have to give the man credit — or so you’d think. Dozens of Democrats running for president beg to differ, but they also lack adequate excuses for how all this prosperity came about if President Trump’s presidency is really the disaster they claim it is. Joe Biden got it right, it’s just that he said it in the wrong country. In Joe’s country, getting it right is wrong, and the unwary pay for it. In Joe’s country a sucker never gets an even break, and everybody’s a sucker. Joe’s country is the modern Democratic Party, where the grown-ups looked at the field of dwarfs, concluded that not even Snow White could find a credible candidate for president among that motley crew of 25, and figured that Joe, who might not scare the horses, was the man they needed. He would be the wise, avuncular graybeard needed to steady the mayhem in the nursery. Joe looks credible.

I suppose I should be thrilled that the U.S. Women's soccer team won its second world title but I confess to rooting for all their opponents during the games. I don't particularly care for soccer anyway but it was the purple-haired star player Megan Rapinoe who turned me off by spouting her disdain for any White House visit before she was even asked. Did she do that for publicity or was her Trump derangement too deeply entrenched? Stomping on the American flag even accidentally during the World Cup celebration was more proof of her unworthiness to represent our great country.

California’s uncanny “earthquake pause” is over. It should have already had several “big ones” by now. All that pressure has to go somewhere. Some, they say, may even be more powerful than those experienced in the past few days. “(These quakes do) not make (the Big One) less likely,” local seismologist Lucy Jones told The Los Angeles Times. “There is about a one in 20 chance that this location will be having an even bigger

At one point, goalkeeper Ashlyn Harris said “pay us bitch” as her teammate Allie Long chewed on a piece of the confetti. (Snip) pay gap is far from just “gender bias,” the reason there is a pay gap between the men and the women is that the men bring in many more fans, and millions of dollars more in revenue than the women’s soccer. The pay gap is about economics, not gender bias.

The latest spat began on Saturday, when columnist Maureen Dowd of the New York Times reported that Pelosi had disparaged AOC and her allies on the left (original links):
