Jon Voight hails Trump as 'the greatest

Jon Voight is once again sharing his love for Donald Trump. The 80-year-old actor has posted a video message praising POTUS on Twitter. Angelina Jolie’s father--who was tapped by the president to be a trustee for the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts--called Trump the “greatest president” and said a 2020 re-election would be “God’s trust for this nation.” “My fellow Americans, I stand with you and the truth of our nation, with great pride and honor. I say this truly from a place of God’s truths. Our nation is stronger

Comments:

Mr. Voight’s recognition of the God-given gifts of President Trump, and courage to express his gratitude for President Trump, are appreciated more than Jon Voight can know. The unrelenting vicious attacks against President Trump and his family violate every shred of common decency and, most certainly, the wisdom and guidance of Scripture that includes the Ten Commandments—with more specificity, “Thou shalt not bear false witness.” Thank you, bless you, Mr. Voight.

Gibson’s Bakery v. Oberlin College:
$5 million attorney’s fees

In one of the last hearings in local court regarding the Gibson’s Bakery v. Oberlin College case, Lorain County Common Pleas Judge John R. Miraldi heard evidence today on what the college owes in attorneys’ fees. As previously reported, Gibson’s signaled in court filings that it intended to seek $9-13 million, including a so-called lodestar. (Snip) This is in addition to the $44 million they found Oberlin College owes the Gibson Bakery and Market. Verdict caps mandated by Ohio law have downgraded those initial verdicts down to $25 million, however.

EDGEFIELD, S.C. (AP) — Attorney General William Barr said Monday he sees a way to legally require 2020 census respondents to declare whether or not they are citizens, despite a Supreme Court ruling that forbade asking the question. In an interview with The Associated Press, Barr said the Trump administration will take action in the coming days that he believes will allow the government to add the controversial census query. Barr would not detail the plans, though a senior official said President Donald Trump is expected to issue a memorandum to the Commerce Department instructing it to include the question on census forms.

Reviewing the intense public relations campaign launched by Oberlin College after the $11 million compensatory and $33 million punitive damage verdicts (later reduced to $25 million under Ohio tort reform caps), I felt an “intervention” by someone who “truly cares” about Oberlin College was needed: (Snip) An intervention has been attempted by S. Frederick Starr, Oberlin College’s president from 1983-1994, through an op-ed in The Wall Street Journal, Oberlin College’s Legacy and the Need to Have Enemies. The main point of Starr’s op-ed, as the title suggests, is commentary on Oberlin College’s culture as it has developed

The video showing Quillette reporter being Andy Ngo savagely attacked by Antifa at a demonstration in Portland, Oregon, last weekend has rocked the nation. The footage of masked thugs beating him with blunt objects and throwing “milkshakes” allegedly filled with quick-drying cement is shocking to many. But I’m not surprised by this horrific behavior—I was once behind the mask. (Snip) Antifa will only grow more aggressive if it is not stopped, and we must target it where is has found fertile ground—our college and university campuses.

Two pastors stood their ground after Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., seemed to dispute their claims that conditions at facilities they toured were "drastically different" from what she saw. Rev. Samuel Rodriguez, president of the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference, the world's largest Hispanic Christian organization, and senior pastor of New Seasons Christian Worship Center in Sacramento, asked the White House if he could take a group of pastors to see for themselves the reported deplorable and inhumane conditions for illegal immigrants at an El Paso County, Texas migrant detention center.

“I never expected to see you in this place,” North Korean leader Kim Jong Un said to President Trump as they met Sunday at the Demilitarized Zone on the border between North and South Korea. Were you surprised, too? Wondering what to make of Trump briefly setting foot in North Korea by taking a few steps across the border?(Snip) Trump wants the 70 years of war and hostility between the U.S. and North Korea to end. The takeaway from the DMZ visit is that U.S. Special Envoy Stephen Biegun will resume working-level talks with the North Koreans.

In 2012, the last election Democrats won, a headline from their convention read: "Democrats boo God." In 2016, they heckled a preacher during the opening prayer. It's a perception they've been trying to change since, especially on the 2020 campaign trail. (Snip) The DNC hired former Washington, D.C. anti-Trump pastor, Rev. Derrick Harkins, who held a similar position in 2012 and has been the senior vice president of Union Theological Seminary in New York City, which recently celebrated "rejoicing in the queerness of God."

Oberlin College has taken a public relations beating in the wake of the massive verdicts against it and its Dean of Students Meredith Raimondo in the Gibson’s Bakery case. (Snip) The stories are too numerous to list, but there has been widespread criticism of Oberlin College’s conduct. What Oberlin College wants to do is now (in addition to winning an appeal) is not to become the next Mizzou or Evergreen State, where unsavory social justice warfare by faculty and staff, egging on students, cause enrollments to collapse. Oberlin College, already suffering from weak enrollment numbers, faces that real possibility.

The most legally dangerous territory for the Gibsons is ahead. The facts of the case were so strong for the Gibsons that in some ways the easiest part is behind them. Now they need to protect what they have earned from numerous legal dangers.

I suppose I should be thrilled that the U.S. Women's soccer team won its second world title but I confess to rooting for all their opponents during the games. I don't particularly care for soccer anyway but it was the purple-haired star player Megan Rapinoe who turned me off by spouting her disdain for any White House visit before she was even asked. Did she do that for publicity or was her Trump derangement too deeply entrenched? Stomping on the American flag even accidentally during the World Cup celebration was more proof of her unworthiness to represent our great country.
