Reluctant witnesses in FISA abuse probe

Key witnesses sought for questioning by Justice Department Inspector General Michael E. Horowitz early in his investigation into alleged government surveillance abuse have come forward at the 11th hour, Fox News has learned. Sources familiar with the matter said at least one witness outside the Justice Department and FBI started cooperating -- a breakthrough that came after Attorney General William Barr ordered U.S. Attorney John Durham to lead a separate investigation into the origins of the bureau’s 2016 Russia case that laid the foundation for Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s probe. While the investigative phase of the inspector general’s long-running probe is said to be complete,

This indicates that the matter has reached a critical stage. Those involved who placed their bets on the resourcefulness and resilience of their deep-state cohorts have now come to realize that it's every man for himself time. Prior false stories have crumbled as contradictions are revealed in testimony and facts. They're now turning on each other like the common criminals they are, desperate to avoid the consequences of their traitorous acts.

This could also be an attempt to delay the IG report once again. The Deep State may be trying to run out the clock in hopes Pres. Trump will be defeated in 2020 and his Dem successor will drop the investigation.

I'm with #2 on this one. IG Horowitz will not hold up the report if the information is not critical. I believe that U.S. Attorney Durham and AG Barr are bringing to light that people will be indicted. Everyone will be turning on each other to save themselves. I don't believe that Adam Schiff or Congressman Nadler can make enough noise to turn people away from the findings when they come out before the election.

If the IG’s report is released prior to the 2020 election, will any Dem presidential candidate be asked about this abuse of federal authority by Obama, Lynch and Comey? Democrats once believe that the CIA and FBI were not to be trusted, now these two agencies are made into defenders of democracy. If the IG’s report is issued by this Labor Day, what will radical House Democrats accuse Trump of forcing illegal aliens to drink, eat and perform in order to drive the IG’s report off of the news? AOC and her ruthless House colleagues managed to give the news media an excuse to overshadow the President’s historic walk into North Korea with the false toilet water story in the “concentration camps”.

For the sake of the country justice must prevail. So much has been brought to light that reasonable people expect their government to police itself and not make a mockery of justice by sweeping this under the rug. Are the criminals more powerful that the rule of law and the United States Constitution? Apparently we are heading for an answer to that question. In the meantime the democrats are doing everything in their power to taint this investigation and they will be aided and abetted in this endeavor by the media who will say or do anything to protect and defend the cabal. If and when the truth is revealed and the real perpetrators of this conspiracy to commit sedition is brought to justice, do not expect the democrats to yield in their opposition. They will fight like the devil to oppose the outcome. The media will be their defenders and it will be an epic battle. It will not be a case wherein for the good of the country they will accept the results of the investigation. They are not wired that way. The good of the country means nothing to them if it threatens their agenda. There are people inside and outside this government that will do or say anything to discredit the findings. This is not your granddaddy’s government where the rule of law and Constitution was sacrosanct. This is some very powerful people bth inside and outside this country who have aided and abetted sedition, a crime so egregious that it demands the most serious of consequences. God help us to get this right. The Republic is hanging in the balance. We cannot have any political party attempt the most serious of crimes and walk away scot free. Anything less than the full force and power of our judicial system upholding the rule of law is simply unacceptable because in this country one is above the law, no one.

I wish I could believe that justice will prevail on this. But, I smell a rat. Chris Wray possibly among the scurrying rodents? All of a sudden after two years people are now coming forward? As others noted above, I think this is a stalling tactic. I pray I am wrong, but I believe this report will never see the light of day before the election. The Dems, enemedia and deep state need to be able to continue their relentless attacks on President Trump. They will not stop until they can destroy him.

This ALL, and I mean ALL began with an illegal FISA warrant against Carter Page based on a KNOWN, PROVEN BEYOND ANY ARGUMENT, ANY DOUBT since January, 2017, false document, the Steele dossier. IT IS A LIE, period and that is NOT arguable whatsoever. EVERYONE involved in the FISA warrant INCLUDING the judges are guilty of serious crimes. They are felons, albeit unconvicted, JUST LIKE every felon in prison right this minute except these felons are protected by a government that will NEVER bring them to justice by design. Yet, what are the leaders doing? Adding confusion, investigating ad infinitum, accusing this that and the other thing, having hearings, appointing special this and that's, appearing before cameras with furled eyebrows of concern, puking their concern as talk radio guests, while stringing the story along knowing that time will make it fade away with yet another outrage like the 2020 Marxist election primaries. This should have been over in March, 2017 with all involved indicted, tried, sentenced and imprisoned just after Levin detailed this coup against a duly elected president. With the mountains of easily obtained evidence, a dog walking by a crappy law school could convict all involved. Except the ONLY thing that has happened is the guilty continue to be rewarded and the innocent continue to be destroyed against a surreal backdrop of "bombshell" revelations by Friends of Sean about yet another critical stage. There's a pattern here kids. The entire federal government is corrupt beyond any coming back from corrupt and this coup just proves it. Like Charlie and the MTA, this will ride forever 'neath the streets of DC and will NEVER see justice but it will sell a hell of a lot more sheets and pillows as the bombshell critical stories keep stringing it along.

To shut us on the right all up, someone will be the fall guy/gal and get thrown under the bus. Right now they're drawing straws to see who gets fed to the lions --- and that will be it. One ... maybe two ... people will get a show trial and a slap on the wrist and serve time at a sleep-away camp, minimum security prison to be pardoned by the next Democrat president (whenever) and full restoration of back pay and pension benefits. And that will be it. End of story. Nothing to see here! Keep it moving.

Who knows what is happening where, but let's remember one simple fact: Indictments can come at any time - they don't wait for a giant investigation to "conclude" and a report. Once probable cause is found, the game is on, and there are all sorts of things where probable cause may not be difficult to establish, and the jokers know and understand that. Justice must be done, or we're done as a nation of laws. It appears that Barr knows and understands the gravity of letting this pass. I sure hope so. OTOH, we've all been fooled before.

#16 - My favorite curmudgeon. I'm leaning your way more every day. I'm sick to death of waiting for these "reports" to be finished and when they are, they can't be released until yet another "investigation and report" is completed about people and actions that are widely and publicly known. My patience has been exhausted. It is all stalling for time and making it as difficult as possible for President Trump to implement his policies. The Uniparty Deep State may have resigned themselves to a Trump second term, knowing how quickly four years can pass...and there is no one like him to follow. The dog pack press will hound him with the assurance that after the anomaly of Trump, the globalist plans for the Transformation of America will continue unimpeded. But, what do I know? I trust in God. I still believe He created and formed Donald J. Trump for this moment in our nation's history. I trust President Trump's intelligence, experience and his innate talent for timing. I believe The Donald is the greatest patriot in generations. I will follow him into Hell with a bucket of water if he asks it for the sake of our country. And so I wait. I watch. I pray, pray hard. i think with enough information in the public domain, tribunals should have started months, if not years ago. this waiting is a purposeful attempt to cover tracks, not uncover truth. i hope every day, that something will break, but nothing but a takeover of America from the States, Cities, and organizations willing to push the law, because now, with America waiting on the outcome of the Coup, the left began an assault on the remaining semblance of America. We are doomed without justice acting swift. If you add the shenanigans of the lower level corrupt people and the upper level coup, there will not be enough courts, jails, jurors, or prisons to finish the job.

I'm not too surprised this is taking so long. Even if these people weren't directly involved they are career bureaucrats. If they say something and Trump was ousted via impeachment or failing to be reelected, their career would be very shaky because you KNOW that the dems would shut down any investigations and bury the evidence. The average bureaucrat isn't looking to fight a political battle. They are looking to go to work, draw a paycheck, and pay the bills. They are not looking to be a "dead hero". The people that need to get the heavy lifting done is Durham and Barr. They need to find the people with needed information and make it clear it is expected that they will truthfully tell what they know. Hopefully, bureaucrats identified will talk truthfully if not eagerly.

Seven people, all from different households, not only gathered for Thanksgiving but distributed to the media pictorial evidence of them flouting mask mandates and social distancing edicts. No governor yet claims jurisdiction over the International Space Station but the astronauts have a lot of explaining to do when they return to earth. It’s not as though they lacked for space. Governors ordering around people 250 miles above their states seems far-fetched. But so, too, did the notion of governors usurping the role of legislatures. Eight months after the initial coronavirus lockdowns, citizens docilely accept the idea of a single person dictating the laws that govern millions of people.

Will Joe Biden and his foreign-policy team accept the extraordinary gift Team Trump is leaving for them under the Christmas tree — or is their hatred for the president so all-consuming that they will toss it in the garbage? I’m talking about the Abraham Accords, peace deals between Israel and various Arab states — the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Sudan — that have sought the Jewish state’s destruction since its founding in 1948. Normalization has proceeded so quickly, Dubai already has a kosher restaurant, and its supermarkets are stocking Israeli agricultural products festooned with Stars of David — a science-fictional sight only a year ago.

The practice of democracy in our constitutional republic flourishes in the presence of contradictions. Democracy, itself, is bound by our inalienable rights, bestowed to us by our Creator. These rights, not given to us by our government by any majority or by any vote, cannot be rescinded, for they were not wrought by man. Voting is a contradiction for it is both public and private at the same time. Its process is intended to be secret, but transparent. Its agency is intensely partisan, but its effect is intended to be unifying. The legitimacy of voting must survive despite the contradictions intrinsic to the process.

Will Judge Emmett Sullivan accept President Trump’s pardon of General Michael Flynn? No one has suggested that possibility, other than The New York Sun. The general’s case, though, has become a bonfire of the vanities of one district judge who has denied the presumption of regularity to an official act of the United States government — meaning Attorney General William Barr’s attempt to drop the case. So why would Judge Sullivan credit President Trump’s workaround of a pardon? We understand, the pardon could be the least fettered of all the powers that the Constitution grants to the president.

Many conservatives have moved their social-media accounts to the more freewheeling Parler, and often have slammed the supposedly monopolistic Facebook and Twitter as they’ve decamped from those sites. I have chuckled at some of their overheated parting rhetoric — especially the widespread misunderstanding about the meaning of the word “monopoly.” A monopoly is, as the Oxford dictionary explains, “the exclusive possession or control of the supply of or trade in a commodity or service.” Quite obviously, if one stops doing business with a company and heads over to its competitor, then the previous company is not by definition in exclusive possession or control of a service.

His wife, as the person closest to him, should have been the one to call the campaign quits in order to reduce stress on the man. Instead, apparently so anxious to become the First Lady by any means necessary, Mrs. Biden continued to push her failing husband’s campaign forward as if he were mentally qualified.
