Rapinoe blasts lack of respect towards
women's game ahead of World Cup final

USA star Megan Rapinoe hit out on Saturday at the scheduling of the women's World Cup final on the same day as two major men's international finals and said FIFA president Gianni Infantino's pledge to double the prize fund for the tournament is not enough. "It's terrible scheduling for everyone. That's a terrible idea to put everything on the same day, in every way," Rapinoe said at a press conference on Saturday as the USA aim to retain the World Cup in the final against the Netherlands in Lyon on Sunday. The game is being played just hours before Brazil

Shut up Megan. You could cancel the Super Bowl, replace it with the women's soccer final, and 99% of the potential audience would switch over to re-runs of Hee-Haw. And you expect equal pay? Nice try.

The reason people are not that much into female sports leagues is because they cannot hold a candle to the men's leagues. Period. If you want to see the best in the world at the major sports, you have no choice but to watch the MEN.

Well, Meg, here’s the deal. You aren’t anywhere near as good as the men. The best players in any sport get paid the most. It’s why the players on the men’s tour play for a lot more money than the gals on the LPGA. The biggest draws bring in the biggest bucks. It’s simple reality...something the left wants to deny.

America has never embraced soccer to the degree the rest of the world has. Why would we embrace the women's game? You want equality, put out a product people are willing to pay to watch. Face it, other than tennis, when it comes to athletics men's sports will always draw more interest. You cannot demand an audience.

Megan Rapinoe can be tough and unrelenting but she also needs to understand that, as a rule, the public is drawn to the pinnacle of any sport. The pinnacle of virtually all athletic sports is when males play it. That's because males are naturally stronger and faster, and thus what you're seeing is the pinnacle of human capability. That's in no way a slight on women's soccer. These female players are excellent at what they do and deserve marks for what they have achieved. It would have been better if Megan kept her political observations at bay.

Joe Biden is looking for that sweet spot between “wise” and “over the hill.” That can be hard to find when your voting record is older than some of the other candidates in the race. People who know him have told me that the former vice president has decided, out of both strategy and conviction, that he should never apologize. He still sees himself as the same young-buck visionary, the one who was barely old enough to be sworn in to the Senate when he first won his seat in 1972, three years after Neil Armstrong walked on the moon.
