Quietly, the US just became the

Of course, it’s a summer holiday week. So, this good news somehow slipped by most media critics of this president. But the latest government figures just showed that in April the United States produced a new record amount of oil per day — a stunning 12.16 million barrels of oil every 24 hours. [Snip] Of more significance, the oil production jump makes the United States the world’s largest producer of oil, ahead of the usual slippery suspects like Saudi Arabia and Russia. How’s that for energy independence? And how can presidential debaters turn that into a negative?

For most of my life I've been hearing about how we need to be energy independent. I really thought that was important until I realized (to my horror) that independence was secondary to special interest money. Thank you to our Very Stable Genius, President Trump.

This is the type of thing that needs to be monetized and localized.
How this helps local communities and many key states. How it affects their budgets with this new revenue stream, how it is helping steel makers, transportation providers, etc...
Many parts of PA and OH enjoy royalty payments and good-paying jobs being created, that Democrats want to eliminate.
Illustrate how CA is diminishing their economy by importing much of their oil (sending $$ outside of the country) what they don't drill for already, and not allowing expansion of refining capacity - after Richmond fire Chevron wanted to expand their refinery capacity but the environmentalists wouldn't let them without a complete EIR.
Don't believe CA allows pipeline either, which hurts their consumers when there is refinery fire, or some capacity restriction, since CA has their own unique blend.

Obtaining energy independence was the mission of the so called Department of Energy. How many billions were squandered by an agency that never came anywhere near what it was supposed to do? Who obtained the golden fleece for us? The US petroleum industry, that's who. Thank you PDJT!

Lot of good it's doing drivers in this country. Gas prices are as high as ever. I wonder how high the budget deficit would be if we weren't exporting the oil.

Quietly because the Enemedia want to stop it, and can't be part of letting the word out that "fossil fuels" are the REAL solution to all our energy needs.
Wind, solar and other BS "greenie weenie" stuff is a total ripoff and a joke. Unreliable, ultra expensive and just not something you can depend on.

A barrel is exactly 42 gallons, not about 42 gallons.

#9, you must like in left land. Here in Kansas I filled up for $2.35, and it is even cheaper in nearby states.
Corrected for inflation, that is just about where it was in 1972. And that is with endless. relentless efforts by the Dems to do everything possible to suppress oil production and refining.

So much for the "Peak Oil" Theory of the 1970's! Oh, but here was the rabidly liberal UK Guardian hyperventilating about the end being near in 2005... https://www.theguardian.com/science/2005/apr/21/oilandpetrol.news
And of course, the rebuttal... https://peakoil.com/business/peak-oil-myth-debunking-the-peak-oil-theory/comment-page-1

Many of us have known for a long time we in the US have enough oil for a couple of hundred years. Then there is natural gas everywhere. We can provide our own energy for all of our lifetimes and longer. Don't know where you live # 9, but gas here is around $2.50 something, yesterday and today. Do you live in California?

First of all throw away the term fossils fuels. Oil is geological in origin. There is plenty of it. You need technology more than geography to get at it. And, the US is best at that game.

Well, #15 oil is at roughly $64 a barrel, and gas prices are hovering around the same price as when oil was closer to $90 a barrel. The current price increases are due to the middle east/Iran issues. Prices in Maryland jumped from 2.79 a gallon to 3.09 over night. There is no reason for the increase except greed.

We just had a 19 cent jump in Illinois due to the gov JB Pritzger and his cronies doubling the state tax from 19 to 38 cents a gallon.
One would think, maybe some potholes would get filled, but mainly its to cover underfunded pension payments to state employees.
