A number of hopefuls for the Democratic nomination for president found common ground Saturday as they defended rival Sen. Kamala Harris against online allegations that she is not an "American Black." Former Vice President Joe Biden, who clashed with Harris at Thursday's Democratic debate in Miami after she criticized his position five decades ago against school busing, said the social media attacks against the senator from California were clear echoes of "birtherism." "Birtherism," promoted by some Republicans, including Donald Trump before he assumed the presidency, was a movement that denied former President Barack Obama was a natural-born U.S. citizen, implying

FTA: After the clash with Biden, a Twitter account under the name Ali Alexander posted, "Kamala Harris is implying she is descended from American Black Slaves. She's not. She comes from Jamaican Slave Owners. That's fine. She's not an American Black. Period."
Yet she of non-black heritage claimed it was "personal and hurtful" that Biden worked with segregationists a few decades ago. For the record, my quick research seems to support that at least one of her Jamaican ancestors was a slave owner, so I can see how mentioning that would trigger charges of racism. (# sarcasm)

Constitutionally unqualified is the issue. And no, Obama wasn't either. Both parents must be naturalized citizens AND the individual must be born in the U.S.A.

I don't have a clue where Barry was born, but other than the DMV, if you produce the birth "document" he did to get any government job you would probably get arrested.

She is a half Jamaican descendant of slave owners. Of course we are not supposed to know about that. She also was born and went to school AFTER busing ended in Berkeley, so she was talking trash then too. She also had a relationship with Willie Brown, who introduced her to the right political connections in return for her sleeping with him. She has blown off Mr. Brown and hopes we don't know about him. As a DA or the AG, she left an exonerated man in prison an extra two years, so where does that guy go to get his life back?
But I suspect he will never forgive her disrespect to him, and that is why he has freely talked about their past. She has already been told publicly on at least one occasion that she has to have a strong black male presence on the ticket if she gets the nomination. They will not thank her for being married to a white guy. I think that Trump will be the only man in DC capable of standing up to her deck of favorite democrat playing cards, and he won't be afraid to respond to her. He will take great delight in unmasking her for the thoroughly nasty and mean woman she is. Kind of like a younger and darker complected Hillary.

I live in California and I've been seeing her face over the years, but I never thought of her as black. I know that it's common American usage to call anyone "black" who is of mixed race and partially black, and I get it with Obama, but she still doesn't look black to me. It's just hard to see it. I guess, per the article, that's just an evil racist observation. Almost as bad as "misgendering" a trans. But when conservatives have a black candidate, like Herman Cain or Alan Keyes, at least there's no confusion, because they're really black.

Lotus Blossom's Dem pals are unable to put up the conclusive proof of her birth in the U.S, so instead they hurl the name "birtherism." Show the proof and remove all doubt.

If she ends up on the ticket, the press will brook no criticism of her views. They'll be opening a new pack of race cards every day.

The big question is: will she have to pay reparations?

Kamel-face used sex to get ahead, and is a mean, obnoxious, power hungry witch without any love for this country.
She is going nowhere, and deserves NO respect. Nasty, creepy, untrustworthy and I am certain she would stab anyone in the back to get ahead.

Article omits that some black voters are questioning her black authenticity. No one is questioning her birth parents. She is not 'African American', she prosecuted black men, and is married to a white man, which raises questions in the black community.
