2020 contender Kamala Harris came out swinging with a memorable performance in the second night of Democratic debates in Miami. It was Harris' confrontation with former Vice President Joe Biden where she pressured to get him on the record on his past support of segregation-endorsing Democrats and as well as his past stance against busing to desegregate public schools, that left a mark on would-be voters' minds. In an interview with "CBS This Morning" Friday, Harris responded to criticism from Biden's camp that the contentious moment was a "low blow." "It was about just speaking truth and as I've said

This was a master stroke on her part, helping to cut Biden off at the knees. The next polls should be interesting. I predict Biden and Sanders slipping badly. Harris, Buttigieg, and Warren climbing. Beto disappearing. And Tulsi Gabbard jumping up into the top tier while the others stay at or under 1%.

Let me tell you about bussing. Most people did not want busing for anyone. Kids were on those buses for three hours or more. During snowstorms some were on five hours. People werefor having the teachers move. There was absolutely no reason to bus kids to different cities. Keep the kids close to home and transfer the teachers. If Crazy Uncle Joe had ANY "testicular fortitude", he would have got his back up and railed at that woman: "I will have you know that this country's FIRST African-American President chose ME, whose civil rights record you have impugned, to be his Vice-President. HAVE YOU NO SHAME, MS HARRIS? If you did you would hang your head, leave this stage, resign the high office the African-American voters of the Great State of California helped to bestow upon you, and work to rehabilitate yourself in their hearts. I, MADAM, was not a person who prosecuted petty law violators and saw that they were locked away for ridiculous numbers of years in prison. I, MADAM, worked as a PUBLIC DEFENDER to protect such poor petty law violators from prosecutors such as yourself!" But Crazy Uncle Joe did nothing of the sort.

If the RNC has any guts at all, they will investigate whether Kamala Sutra is constitutionally eligible to serve as president. Here is why. Her father is Jamaican, and Jamaica was a British colony until 1862. He would have been a British subject, and Kamala Sutra would have been born a British subject, unless at age 21, she renounced her British citizenship. Kamala Sutra's mother was an Indian, and if she registered Kamala for Indian citizenship by age one (Indian law) that would disqualify Kamala from serving as President. Kamala and mom and sister moved to Montreal, Canada when Kamala was 12. Did mom apply for Canadian citizenship for them?? These are serious questions. The RNC ducked the question of Baracks's eligibility, and the cowardly U.S. Supreme Court looked the other way. And John McCain did, too.

Instead of whining about low blows, Biden should lay back, and at a most opportune time hit Kamala with her relationship with Willy Brown and the six figure income, no-show jobs he arranged for her while she was in his "service". Truth is, nobody likes a whiner. Kamala is one nasty piece of work, and it will be interesting to see if she can take it as well as she dishes it out.

California Sen. Kamala Harris' presidential campaign announced Saturday that it raised $2 million in 24 hours following her breakout moment in Thursday's 2020 Democratic debate. The donations came from more than 63,000 people -- over half of those, 58%, were first time donors, according to the campaign. The average contribution was $30, the campaign said. The campaign said it was its single best fundraising day since Harris launched her bid in January. "We have momentum," said Lily Adams, Harris' communications director. "After her dominant debate performance, where she proved she is the candidate best suited to prosecute the case against

The Democratic debates this past week provided the clearest evidence yet that many of the leading presidential candidates are breaking with the incremental politics of the Clinton and Obama eras, and are embracing sweeping liberal policy changes on some of the most charged public issues in American life, even at the risk of political backlash. Vowing to eliminate private health insurance, decriminalize illegal immigration and provide government health care benefits to undocumented migrants, high-profile contenders like Senators Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren and Kamala Harris are wagering that they can energize voters eager to dismantle President Trump’s hard-line policies. But with

TACOTALPA, Mexico — An engineer shouted for the young migrant woman to hurry up and climb aboard the freight train or she'd be left behind. In her bright red tennis shoes, she quickened her pace and was the last to get on when it pulled out near Salto de Agua in Mexico's southernmost state of Chiapas. Hours later and about 27 miles (43 kilometers) to the west, the train stopped near the Tabasco state town of Tacotalpa and the woman hopped off to buy some cheese-stuffed rolls. When the train crowded with migrants began to move again, she hustled to clamber

Few issues divided Los Angeles more in the 1970s than school desegregation and busing. It sparked protests and political movements — and led to white families pulling their children out of the Los Angeles Unified School District. These issues came back to life at the Democratic presidential debate. In a heated exchange, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris clashed over school integration, with Harris accusing Biden of not taking the morally correct position in favor of the mandatory busing of students. In California, school desegregation was part of broader integration efforts, including the elimination of redlining, which kept blacks and members of

Sen. Cory Booker accused Democratic presidential frontrunner Joe Biden on Friday of not having the right "language" to talk about race that's needed to win the party's 2020 nomination. Booker's comment came after Biden spoke about race relations in the U.S. during an appearance in Chicago earlier in the day. “That kid wearing a hoodie may very well be the next poet laureate and not a gangbanger," Biden said, making a rhetorical point during his remarks at the headquarters of the Rainbow PUSH Coalition, a group of nonprofits organized by the Rev. Jesse Jackson. But Booker, an African-American senator from

MIAMI —From one of the earliest moments of the debate, former congressman Beto O’Rourke demonstrated the promise and the peril of his presidential candidacy. He spoke of bringing the country together, and surprised some of his competitors by breaking into Spanish and displaying a fluency with connecting with Latino voters. He then dodged a follow-up question, and then another. Time and again, O’Rourke’s answers seemed

Last night, Kamala Harris repeated her story about how, thanks to busing, she was able to be part of only the second class to integrate in the Berkeley public school system. She used this story to thrash Joe Biden, who offered anti-busing legislation as a U.S. Senator in the 1970s. Last year, I questioned Harris’ story: [I]s it. . .true that Harris was in only the second class to integrate at Berkeley public schools? Based on an examination of old yearbooks from Berkeley High, Freida Powers reports that classrooms at Berkeley High were already integrated in 1963, a year before Harris was born.
