E. Jean Carroll, Donald Trump, and a rape
accusation from an earlier era

Original Article

E. Jean Carroll, the longtime Elle magazine advice columnist who on Friday accused President Trump of raping her 23 or 24 years ago, has a new book coming out next week. What Do We Need Men For? A Modest Proposal will "shock men and delight women," according to the book's promotional materials. Whatever the book's precise theme — it's still under wraps — it seems likely to represent a significant evolution from Carroll's 2004 Man Catching Made Easy: Mr. Right, Right Now!, a how-to guide that promised to reveal "How to land a guy in 6 days!"

Byron continues to sit astride the fence, sipping his white wine spritzers and nibbling on crustless little triangle sandwiches, never quite sure one way or the other whether to go for PDJT or his accusers. So he spreads it all out again and continues on the fence. In this respect, he has zero POV and adds no more to the discussion than would a crustless triangle sandwich. As boring and useless as his dated hairdo.

EJ, please allow me to offer some reconnaissance from deep behind the flannel curtain in flyover country. You see darling, here away from the enlightenment afforded by your garden variety densely populated urban paradise, the interests of our women are in alignment with our men. This may come as a shock, but our women care about their sons, brothers, fathers and, brace yourself, husbands. So what will shock men probably won't delight women. But you probably are targeting the bastions of progressive theology anyhoo.

A book deal, huh? I'm thinking a "book deal" is just the fancy, new term for "the payment a Democrat receives for falsely accusing a Republican."

Wow... I mean... what are the CHANCES that a book launch would coincide with an allegation of rape against the President? Meanwhile, in the very SAME universe, some conservatives with real concerns over real situations cannot get a tweet in edgewise...

Earlier poster #1 puts my opinion way more politely than I would. I loathe men who dither and cannot make up their minds. They are part of the Romney wet finger brigade, and I have zero respect for their POV as well.

" both women confirm Carroll's story. But both demanded anonymity" How convenient. Since Carroll can't make a legal case, there is no need for them to come forward. They can snipe from the shadows where the Left thrives. Can we make up stuff and "report it" anonymously, and have the media drool over it too? And Carroll says it wasn't rape and that rape can be "sexy" and that women "want to be chased". Was Carroll sending signals that SHE wanted to be chased? The problem is, it is the HUNTER that sets the rules of the chase. Carroll seems to recognize this, "Carroll not only told Thompson's life story but created an alter-ego who is dominated by her subject." Is the problem is that Carroll got "caught" a little more than she planned on? Carroll sounds a bit flighty, like Ford did when going after Kavanaugh. When are we going to stop chasing ding dongs that dredge up stuff that may or may not have happened decades ago and have absolutely no proof that it did. When Biden is caught (pictures included with women cringing) with his hands on women, he is allowed to say, "I'm sorry you are upset." and it all is supposed to go away. This is nuts.

With less than 10 days until the first Democrat debate, the most relevant question each and every candidate should be asked is, “Where’s the apocalypse?” Where is the doom and gloom we were assured would follow Donald Trump’s ascendency to the presidency? Where is the economic meltdown? Where is the tyrannical usurpation of power? Where? During the only presidential debate of 1980, Ronald Reagan cemented his legacy as “The Great Communicator” by asking one simple question, “Are you better off than you were four years ago?” Reagan’s question to the nation not only framed the election of 1980 in the most succinct and relatable terms,

The city of Waskom, Texas, has become the first in the nation to ban abortion, declaring itself a “sanctuary city for the unborn.” The Waskom city council unanimously voted Tuesday to adopt a resolution and an ordinance to make abortions in the city a criminal offense. Jesse Moore, the mayor of Waskom, a city located 18 miles west of Shreveport, Louisiana, and called “The Gateway to Texas,” said the city council was approached by Right to Life East Texas with concerns that, with Louisiana, Alabama, and Mississippi having passed laws restricting abortions, abortion providers may consider Waskom to be an ideal location for a clinic.

The New Yorker’s Ronan Farrow sure knows how to get a media crowd buzzing. The Pulitzer Prize winner accepted a Mirror Award for media reporting from Syracuse University on Thursday for his stories on sexual misconduct at CBS, including allegations that toppled the corporation’s former leader, Leslie Moonves. Like other award winners, he saluted fellow journalists and industry leaders at the Manhattan luncheon for bravery in producing stories that keep the media honest and transparent — even at the cost of burning bridges and losing job opportunities. At the same time, he said “I can see people who have lied to protect power.”

At least 24 Memphis Police Department officers were injured during a large protest Wednesday night, Mayor Jim Strickland says. The violence erupted after officers of the U.S. Marshals Service shot and killed Brandon Webber, 20. The shooting occurred around 7 p.m. local time, as officers from the U.S. Marshals Service as part of the Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force tried to take a man into custody. When the officers approached the man, law enforcement officials said, he was getting into his car in the Frayser community in northern Memphis, Tenn. That man was Webber, according to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, which is investigating the case.

In Hong Kong's huge protest over a proposed law that would allow extradition from the territory to mainland China, there is far more at stake than "confidence" in the integrity of Hong Kong's legal system, or the health of Hong Kong's economy -- important though those both are. The real showdown going on in Hong Kong has long been between despotism and democracy, between tyranny and the Free World. And whether we, the free people of America, and our allies, choose to think of it this way or not, the reality is that the showdown now taking place in Hong Kong will shape our future as well.

Associate Deputy Attorney General Bruce Ohr was perfectly positioned to advance the Russia collusion narrative. He had a rare set of relationships -- ties to opposition researchers and the FBI -- and would use his links to both in 2016 to connect federal law enforcement to those advancing Trump-Russia conspiracy theories. A mystery remains: To some in his narrow circle, Ohr was upfront about the compromising nature of his connections, yet he hid that fact from officials charged with overseeing ethics at the Justice Department. Why, then, did Bruce Ohr admit to the FBI that his wife worked for opposition researchers Fusion GPS while failing to disclose it to the DoJ?

On July 25, 2019, President Donald Trump picked up the phone in the White House residence and attempted to shake down a foreign leader. Trump’s language was elliptical and soft, not direct and threatening, but his intentions were clear: He wanted Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy to “do us a favor.” That was Trump’s entree to his improper, indecent requests that Zelenskiy’s government undertake two investigations that would benefit Trump politically. Trump didn’t explain his motives, which of course were self-serving. First, he asked Zelenskiy to “find out what happened” with Ukraine’s supposed meddling, alongside Russia, in the 2016 U.S. election. Then there was Trump’s “other thing”: his desire that Ukraine “look into”
