Popular Knitting Platform Ravelry Bans All Trump

Ravelry, a company that describes itself as a community of knitters and crocheters, announced Sunday that its website is erasing President Trump — banning any and all expressions of support for the duly elected president of the United States. Not being a crafter myself, I had never heard of Ravelry—a site that boasts 8 million users. The announcement was brought to my attention by a reader who uses the site. "Not even crafting is safe," she lamented in an email to PJM. Indeed, it appears that social justice warriors have taken control of the site, which is the go-to source

Comments:

Maybe Trump supporters should start knitting red, white, and blue Triangles, since liberals want all readily identified for public scorn.

On the other hand, there are directions for a " Bernie" hat. And there is a "Happy Pride month" post although what that has to do with knitting, no one knows.

Don't care if the political ban is fair and even handed. But I'd bet good money that; 1. the majority of crafters are not liberal-minded and might well care as being Trump-supporting fly-over deplorables and 2. the owners of the site ARE leftist Trump haters and are appalled that their Ravelry site is attracting those they hate, and 3. the ban will be one-sided.

That's perfectly fine, so long as no other expressions of support for political causes or candidates are allowed. If they are, then Trump Supporters should be allowed, as well. They justify it because all Trump supporters are "White Supremacists." It is so good of leftists to define what I am and what I believe. I didn't know I was a White Supremacist. Most Americans, including White Trump supporters, don't wish to be "supreme" over anyone. They just want to be left alone by government and Live and Let Live. I am White and a Nationalist, since I believe in putting our nation first, so I suppose that makes me a White Nationalist; but that's very different than being a White Supremacist. There are many minorities who also support President Trump. Leftists are so tiring in their minor tyrannies, trying to silence anyone who does not agree with them.

Not that we have word of any openings coming up on the Supreme Court in the immediate future, but it always pays to be prepared, right? Particularly when you have several justices in their septuagenarian or even octagenarian years and one of them regularly talks about packing up his RV and touring the country. But given the politically poisonous mood currently gripping both Congress and the nation, would President Trump really want to open that can of worms and introduce a new nominee if someone suddenly retired? Oh, baby… you know he’s champing at the bit. (The Hill) President Trump

Climate change is threatening ancient Greek monuments, among them the Acropolis, one of the most-visited archaeological sites in the world, scientists said. Air pollution and acid rain are eroding marbles, while extreme weather phenomena such as droughts or torrential rains have led ancient walls and temples to develop structural problems. Even though the Acropolis hill, where the Parthenon stands, is probably Greece's best preserved archaeological site, there are signs that climate change has been increasingly affecting the monuments that stand on the hill. Democratic presidential candidate Beto O'Rourke on Monday proposed taxing affluent American families who do not have members in the U.S. military as a way to fund healthcare for veterans. The former congressman from Texas unveiled a plan for military veterans that includes a "war tax," in which taxpayers who earn over $200,000 a year would pay $1,000 in a new tax for each war embarked on by the United States. O'Rourke, who did not serve in the military but sat on the House of Representatives Armed Services and Veterans' Affairs committees, said the tax would be levied on households without
