The United States is again ranked as one of the worst countries in the world for human trafficking. According to a recently released report by the State Department, the top three nations of origin for victims of human trafficking in 2018 were the United States, Mexico and the Philippines.
Secretary of State Mike Pompeo delivered the Trafficking in Persons report, which is created annually by the State Department to document human trafficking in the year prior, and highlighted the growing focus that government agencies and nonprofit organizations have dedicated to stopping human trafficking. The Department of Justice provided more than $31 million for 45 victim service providers

Most of them work in the kitchens of restaurants or are in the sex for money business. They keep a low profile and rarely cause trouble therefore they do not attract attention.

I’ve often speculated about the boom in nail salons. Lots of young girls, low skill requirements for this job. I’ve been in one where very few actually spoke English... after visiting one, my daughters credit card Info was stolen, so we now only use cash. I hope I’m wrong about my misgivings.

You can thank the Democrats. They have a long, deep, and despicable history of enslaving people.

Q: Why hasn't anyone made more of a fuss?
A: If you are not buying it, or selling it, or photographing it, you probably don't even know it exists.
It isn't on the radar of most normal Americans. We are too busy working and providing all those lovely benefits for the shiftless ones (and the interlopers).

A number of Hollywood movies have been produced that contain hard-hitting re-creations of the sex slave industry. American women are taken and sent overseas to clients who have need for more bodies. The firms include images of young woman who are kidnapped, drugged, and placed into disgusting and inhumane conditions where their bodies are abused and raped by paying customers. Then after these women are "spent" they are allowed to die and disappear.

O my! The victims are not mainly foreign and/or illegal immigrants. Please read the whole article. FTA:"These are American kids, American born, 50% to 60% of them coming out of the foster care industry." We are reaping the ugly harvest of the breakdowns of family, the demonization of masculinity, the attitudes of selfishness promulgated by society for the last 50 years & the denial of any spiritual reality in a material& secular intellectual climate.

I have said for a very long time that the democrats do not want the human trafficking problem solved because there is much too much money to be made. If you think that the cartels are only controlling Mexican politicians think again. There are billions out there to be spread around among the so called caring Hollywood and Political crowd. Abscam was chump change compared to the money that we are talking about here. It is always follow the money in the end.

So slavery is alive and well in the USA!
The article speaks of stifling demand. Hmmm...I don't know anyone out here in Normalville who frequents places that keep sex slaves. Maybe if they keep a an eye on politicians and virtue signaling billionaires they could get a handle on the problem.

George W. Bush made human trafficking one of his major issues. The MSM totally ignored his pronouncements and policies on the issue.

Well the answer to the massive human trafficking situation involving the international criminal smuggling cartels unlawfully smuggling millions of intending illegal aliens North to the US borderline is an easy one. It is all the fault of the UniParty do nothing US Congress.
The leftist and liberal Democrats want as many poor, uneducated, and socialist minded illegal aliens to be allowed to enter the USA as is possible, as the Democrats consider that social class of illegal aliens to be natural future Democrat socialist voters after they are granted amnesty and eventual US voting rights.
All illegal aliens are members of their own families and the Democrats do not want any illegal aliens now in the USA who are members of families to be arrested and deported, that is the lawful process contained in the immigration laws that were passed by Congress. If no illegal aliens are arrested and deported in the future it is common sense that millions of additional illegal aliens will be encouraged to gain unlawful entry to the USA and the illegal alien population will continue to grow exponentially.
Since there are now thought to be about 22 million illegal aliens in the USA, and if the vast majority of them are given US voting rights through a Democrat created “path to citizenship” and become Democrat socialist voters, the balance of politics in many parts of the USA would greatly change to the favor of the Democrat socialists thus keeping them in permanent political power.
Over the years many establishment Republicans and RINOS have supported and facilitated the Democrats placing loopholes in the asylum laws that have sabotaged all reasonable immigration law enforcement efforts along the borderline, to the effect that when unlimited numbers of illegal aliens appear at, or are arrested by the US Border Patrol as they are unlawfully entering the USA, who make a claim that they intend to apply for asylum in the USA must be allowed to enter the USA and pursue asylum in both the immigration and federal courts. That legal process takes up to five years. History has shown that about 90% of such borderline asylum claims heard by federal judges have been denied as being bogus claims. On top of that over 80% of the illegal alien asylum applicants never appear for their scheduled court appearances, and instead hide out to await the next mass Democrat created amnesty.
Most of those Republicans are in the pockets of the Chamber of Commerce and other business lobbying groups that want a flood of cheap foreign labor that can easily be hired by industry in the USA at low wages to continue to gain entry to the USA both illegally and legally. As that process lowers business labor costs, increases business profits, thus continues to enrich the international investor class to the detriment of millions of American workers.

I wonder what type of man frequents prostitutes. I think of the men in my life, relatives, neighbors, business associates and I can’t see any of them doing such a thing. The thought of having sex with one that’s unwilling is sickening to me.

It takes a particular type of man, Peter 12, but people like that are generally sociopaths, just this side of serial killers. They live to lord it over others. Having an unwilling slave at their mercy is titillating beyond belief, and revs them up to want everyone around them in that condition.
We know them as career politicians...
