Clarence Thomas calls for abandoning
'demonstrably erroneous' precedent,

In a concurring opinion in a Supreme Court case announced Monday, Justice Clarence Thomas issued a lengthy call for his colleagues to overturn "demonstrably erroneous decisions" even if they have been upheld for decades -- prompting legal observers to say Thomas was laying the groundwork to overturn the seminal 1973 case Roe v. Wade, which established a constitutional right to abortion. Thomas' blunt opinion came in Gamble v. United States, a case concerning the so-called "double-jeopardy" doctrine, which generally prohibits an individual from being charged twice for the same crime. But both pro-life and pro-choice advocates quickly noted the implications of his reasoning for a slew of other future cases,

There is no right to an abortion. PERIOD. Penumbras of emendations are constructed of gossamer dreams. There is also no right to steal, as Oberlin recently learned. Let us stick with enumerated rights. Otherwise we end up with chaos.

There was never any right to murder. The argument surrounds the definition of what is a human and when does one become human. When the left redefined an unborn child as a fetus, that's when they set the stage for murder. Once an object is relabeled, then it can be destroyed. They continue to do the same thing now when conservative citizens are redefined as "deplorables" and other epithets.

Abortion has nothing to do with reproductive rights. A woman can choose to reproduce (become pregnant), or not. There are no laws against either choice. Once pregnant, the choice has been made. Reproduction is no longer the question, it has happened! Excuses of how the pregnancy was an 'accident'' or not, matters not. With the exception of rape, the woman made some choices. Choosing to have sex is the first choice, and choosing to forego birth control measures is the second. Being drunk or doped up is no excuse, as it is not an excuse for death from DUI. That was another choice made in the wrong circumstances. Once pregnant, the woman will deliver a child. If she chooses to have it murdered, and delivered dead (or delivered live and then murdered, that is a crime IMO. Of course, the man has been taken out of the picture entirely. Most of the focus is on men who benefit from an abortion, and would not be responsible. That is the excuse used by the abortion industry to help justify the abortion, and is true in many cases. However, there are some cases where the man wants the child, but he is denied rights in the matter. Face it, women must take responsibility for their choices. The abortion industry is profiting from relieving the women of responsibility. That's OK, liberal women already hate me!

FTA: "In his concurring opinion, Justice Thomas has made clear his willingness to reject precedents that he personally deems incorrect, a position that unnecessarily politicizes the Court." So according to FOX, following the constitution is "unnecessary politicization"?

Elizabeth Warren has

The ascent of Elizabeth Warren in the Democratic race should warm the heart of any policy wonk. Her mantra is “I’ve got a plan for that,” and she has more than three times as many plans as any of the other 22 candidates. But while the Massachusetts senator is to be commended for her relentlessly serious campaign, it doesn’t necessarily mean her ideas are good or that they will help her defeat a lowbrow president. On both counts, there is ample room for skepticism. Warren’s big idea is the opposite of President Bill Clinton’s. In 1996, Clinton said “the era of big government is over.” Warren thinks it is just beginning.

The Vietnamese government is forming a team of experts that includes several Russian scientists to help preserve the embalmed corpse of founding leader Ho Chi Minh, according to a report. The team is tasked with proposing scientific measures to indefinitely preserve the body of the former communist leader who died 50 years ago, Reuters reported. Each year, thousands view Ho's body, which is displayed inside a glass coffin in a mausoleum in Vietnam’s capital Hanoi. Using science from the former Soviet Union’s “Lenin Lab,” which embalmed the body of communist revolutionary Vladimir Lenin in 1924, other counties have embalmed their former leaders,

More than 200 men in black suits sit in a conference hall in a Baltimore hotel. On folding tables in front of them hundreds of pieces of paper are scattered and pitchers of water are placed at regular intervals. Two tables raised in the front are lined with people apparently in charge, each with a microphone. Everyone has a name tag, hung around his neck on a green lanyard. At a glance, you might think it’s a regional gathering of some professional association of paper salesmen, hotel managers, maybe even low-caliber lawyers. Only a careful look at their collars will show that these men are the apostolic shepherds,

Politics is about power, how to get it and how to keep it. Politics is about mobilizing votes. It should come as no surprise that candidates can say one thing on one day and another on another day because they will say whatever needs to be said to appeal to the electorate. Joe Biden instantaneously flip flops on abortion. Barack Obama and Bill Clinton were as much against illegal immigration as is Donald Trump. Hillary Clinton was once against gay marriage. In totalitarian societies, the truth is what the dictator says at any given moment. In democratic societies, the truth is what the mass public wants to hear at any given moment.

If there is one thing you learn about at Oberlin, the notoriously progressive liberal-arts college, it is surely privilege: white privilege, hetero privilege, gender privilege — you name it. Now, an Ohio jury has identified an entirely new variety — Woke Privilege — and resolved to hold accountable people who believe they are protected by it. The jury handed down a staggering $11 million verdict against Oberlin for a smear campaign against a local business and awarded another $33 million in punitive damages to the targeted mom-and-pop store, Gibson’s Food Market and Bakery.

Last week, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced a plan to reduce plastic pollution, which will include a ban on single-use plastics as early as 2021. This is laudable: plastics clog drains and cause floods, litter nature and kill animals and birds. Of course, plastic also makes our lives better in a myriad of ways. In just four decades, plastic packaging has become ubiquitous because it keeps everything from cereals to juice fresher and reduces transportation losses, while one-use plastics in the medical sector have made syringes, pill bottles and diagnostic equipment more safe. Going without disposable plastic entirely would leave us worse off, so we need

The Justice Department has rejected New York County District Attorney Cy Vance Jr.'s attempt to have former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort transferred to the notorious Rikers Island prison complex ahead of his pending state court trial, amid questions as to why the move was even contemplated in the first place, Fox News is told. Fox News first reported earlier this month that a New York State judge ordered the transfer at Vance's request. However, because Manafort has been convicted on federal charges, any attempt to move him out of federal custody must be approved by Deputy Attorney General Jeffrey Rosen. On Monday, Rosen denied the attempt, effectively

“What’s your pitch to the swing voter on the fence?” ABC’s George Stephanopoulos asked President Trump on Sunday. Questions of this sort are gifts to politicians, but interviewers ask them for a couple of reasons. One, they’re civic-minded. Politicians deserve the opportunity to make their cases straightforwardly — and voters deserve to hear them. Second, they save time. (Snip) Trump’s initial answer started off following the standard script. He got four words off that must have had his political advisors cheering, “Safety, security, great economy.” Ideally, this is where Trump should have stopped talking.

The lack of energy has created a sense of bafflement and disappointment among some of the president's most determined adversaries. But there are some simple reasons for it. Here are three: 1.) The facts are different. In Watergate, the underlying crime was a break-in at Democratic National Committee headquarters, perpetrated by burglars paid by President Richard Nixon's reelection campaign. The scandal proceeded from there. In Trump-Russia, the underlying crime was the hacking of the DNC's and John Podesta's emails — a crime committed by Russians in Russia.
