Comcast has launched a feature enabling viewers with physical disabilities like spinal cord injuries or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) the ability to navigate their television using only their eyes. Xfinity X1 eye control is a web-based remote for tablets and computers that pairs with an existing eye gaze system and allows viewers with a single glance to change the channel, access the DVR or search for programs. The free service addresses a sizable population of TV viewers. According to Comcast, more than 48 million people in the U.S. have physical or mobility disabilities, and every day about 15 people are newly diagnosed with ALS, or Lou Gehrig’s disease.

Comments:

If it works with the disabled, it's a small step toward using it for everyone.

Comcast will quickly know what exactly I am looking at in their ads and programming. For example Comcast will know if I am looking at a pretty girl's butt in a car commercial, or watching the make,of car in the same ad. All the other TV service providers will soon follow suit, if they are not already doing it.

FACEBOOK is launching cryptocurrency next year that will allow people to move money from their smartphone into a digital "wallet". The currency is known as Libra, which the social network says it has "no special role" in governing and will manage equally with a group of big companies. Experts have branded the move a dangerous power grab that marks Facebook's "most invasive" form of surveillance yet. So far, Facebook has enlisted 28 firms, including Spotify and Uber, who each had to invest a minimum of £8million to be a founding member of the Libra Association, an independent not-for-profit membership organisation. It wants to attract 100 businesses in time for launch,

President Donald Trump’s migration reforms are cutting the flow of taxpayer funds to the American teachers and schools that welcome the children of illegal migrants, say education industry insiders. Federal funding for Baltimore’s John Ruhrah Elementary/Middle School has declined because many adults migrants are refusing to enroll in federal anti-poverty welfare programs, the New York Times reported June 16. The migrants are avoiding the welfare programs because of fear they will get deportation notices instead of green cards: The southeast Baltimore school lost more than $240,000 for the next school year after it was dropped from a federal anti-poverty program, called Title I

John Kerry, President Obama’s secretary of state, seems to be having trouble staying within the legal bounds of the Logan Act, so it’s not surprising that his State Department lieutenants were getting their hands dirty in the conspiracy to bring down Donald Trump. Judicial Watch now has received more evidence of this anti-Trump conspiracy. With The Daily Caller News Foundation, they just released 16 pages of documents revealing senior State Obama officials – Assistant Secretary of State Victoria Nuland and Special Coordinator for Libya Jonathan Winer – coordinated with incoming House Majority Whip Steny Hoyer’s (D-MD) national security advisor, Daniel Silverberg, to work on Russia dossier information provided by Christopher Steele.

During an appearance on “Sunday Morning Futures” on Fox News Channel, senior White House trade adviser Peter Navarro praised the tariffs used by President Donald Trump. According to Navarro, the tariffs achieved more in two days on immigration than Congress was able to accomplish in 20 years. “Polls show that about 80 percent of Americans believe there’s a crisis at the border. If you ask Americans in a poll, what do you think about 100,000 illegal aliens moving every day on a conveyor belt from Guatemala up to San Diego and El Paso, I’d say about 90% of them would object to that. And the tariffs that President Trump used,

A pro-Trump political group is eyeing a big investment in four 2020 battleground states. The Committee to Defend the President told Breitbart News in an exclusive interview it would invest $1 million each in Pennsylvania, Florida, Michigan, and North Carolina ahead of the 2020 presidential election. Its efforts will be primarily focused on mobilizing and registering one million new voters from those jurisdictions. Ted Harvey, the group’s chairman, told Breitbart News it was “crucial” for President Donald Trump to be reelected so he could continue to move the country forward for all Americans. “You look at what the president has done without even having Congress on his side,”

President Donald Trump on Saturday denied a New York Times report claiming the U.S. is ramping up cyber attacks against Russia, calling the decision to run the article a “virtual act of treason.” According to the Times, the U.S. is increasingly targeting Russia’s electric power grid and has even gone as far as to install debilitating code inside it. The operation is the first of its kind, according to the newspaper, which also claimed two administration officials said President Donald Trump is believed not to have been briefed on the mission. Reacting to the report in a pair of tweets, President Trump wrote

The United States is stepping up digital incursions into Russia’s electric power grid in a warning to President Vladimir V. Putin and a demonstration of how the Trump administration is using new authorities to deploy cybertools more aggressively, current and former government officials said. In interviews over the past three months, the officials described the previously unreported deployment of American computer code inside Russia’s grid and other targets as a classified companion to more publicly discussed action directed at Moscow’s disinformation and hacking units around the 2018 midterm elections.

"It is a great advantage to a president,” said the 30th of them, “and a major source of safety to the country, for him to know he is not a great man.” Or, Calvin Coolidge would say today, a great woman. While today’s incumbent advertises himself as an “extremely stable genius” and those who would replace him promise national transformation, attention should be paid to the granular details of presidential politics, which suggest that a politics of modesty might produce voting changes where they matter, and at least 270 electoral votes for a Democrat.

James Madison is justly celebrated for his frequently stated opinion that “all power in just and free Government is derived from compact.” But Madison’s view is not endorsed by all purported champions of the founders. A recent article, “Our Unwritten Constitution: Orestes Brownson and the Foundation of American Liberty,” published as part of the Real Clear Policy series on the American Project and co-authored by Richard M. Reinsch II and the late Peter Augustine Lawler, argues that Madison is utterly mistaken in his claim. In fact, the authors claim that reliance on “Lockean contract theory” produced a constitution that was “devised solely in the interest of the rights of individuals”

That's the verdict at the Daily Caller and Fox News, both of which have spotted evidence that CNN's self-regarding hairspray boy's melodramatically titled: "The Enemy of the People: A Dangerous Time to Tell the Truth in America" isn't exactly selling like hotcakes. Despite Acosta's built-in soapbox for hawking the whole thing to the public, the book sports a mere #179 rating for all titles on Amazon.com. So now he's taken to doing desperate things. Recently, my local morning news channel aired a story about a body discovered in a city park. Sadly, that’s not especially unusual. I was still a little bleary from having just gotten out of bed, so I don’t recall many details. I think they said the body was aged thirty or so, but I remember very clearly that they said it was the body of a man. I remember this because, being of a cynical turn of mind whenever I am conscious at all, I asked my wife -- “How do they know it was a man?” My wife ignored me, of course, either because she was asleep or

Um, capitalism by design is extractive and in order to generate profit in a capitalist system, something has to be exploited, that’s land, labor or resources And I think that we’re in late phase capitalism and we know it doesn’t work and we have to move into something new.

At least 15 people broke State Department rules in mishandling former Secretary Hillary Clinton’s emails, the department said in a new review released publicly Monday. While the full review is not completed, the department said it’s found 23 violations and seven infractions of security protocols related to Mrs. Clinton’s emails. Some of the 15 people got write-ups placed in their security files at the department, according to a letter sent to Sen. Chuck Grassley. Those could affect future attempts to gain security clearances, the department said. “The department considers and violation of security policies to be a serious matter,”
