A 22-year-old man was arrested this week after allegedly planning to carry out a terrorist attack in Times Square, the most popular tourist destination in New York City. Ashiqul Alam of Jackson Heights, Queens, was arrested after planning to buy a pair of 9mm Glock semiautomatic handguns. The serial numbers on the weapons had been obstructed. Alam was arrested as part of an FBI sting operation. As alleged, Ashiqul Alam bought illegal weapons as part of his plan to kill law enforcement officers and civilians in a terrorist attack on Times Square,” Brooklyn U.S. Attorney Richard Donoghue said in a public statement.

In all seriousness, I believe that severe punishment is critical. In addition to that is immediate deportation of all his family members. Anyone connected to this man needs to go immediately. That way, it might deter others and encourage family members who get wind of these kinds of plots to go to the authorities in order to save themselves from being deported. We cannot brush this off. We must have a no tolerance policy for Muslims who come here and threaten to do us harm. Declare yourself an enemy of this country and the penalty should be swift and severe.

What happen to the 'war on terror'? This is a battlefield and Asphalt Alam was caught on it with weapons so swift justice is in order here. We haven't move along from 9-11-01 that we forget who is the enemy we owe it to the victims of that attack on us. Parts of the US was stupid enough to elect a Muslim barely ten years after the attack but trust me those people (Muslims) are not here to live peacefully among us. They hate us and our country and this is one example.

The legal debris field has been cleared and the objections of Native American and environmentalist special interest groups nullified by a three-judge panel of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. The Washington Post reports: A three-judge panel of the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals on Thursday ordered dismissal of the lawsuit by environmental and Native American groups, saying President Donald Trump had revoked a 2017 permit allowing the $8 billion pipeline to be built. Trump later issued a new permit, and the appellate judges agreed with Justice Department attorneys who say that nullifies the legal challenge involving environmental impacts.

Twitter is aflutter with news reports that Maxine Waters got something right. But did she? Did President Trump “back off” a “bluff” about Mexico tariffs? Or did he, in fact, wrangle the win in negotiations with our neighbors to the south, undercutting Mad Maxine in the most brutal return volley ever? The drama began with just another ho-hum tweet by the left-coast congresswoman on Friday, when she wrote: “Spineless GOP Senators grew a backbone this week & finally stood up to their Dictator Trump on something: Mexico tariffs, also known as a TAX INCREASE on American consumers. Bet your bottom dollar, Trump will back off by the weekend. Just another bluff!”

While there is nothing “inherently untoward about such arrangements,” as noted in the Washington Post, there is much ado being made in the anti-Trump media about who foot the bill for President Donald Trump’s family to join their father this week during his state visit to the United Kingdom. Unfortunately for the cabal, according to a source who spoke with the Daily Mail, his sons, Donald Jr., Tiffany and Eric, and his wife, Lara, paid their own way. Much of the overseas media was positive in its coverage of the president’s visit, as he presented himself as a strong, competent leader.

House Democrats apparently believe all of their hard work chasing impeachment, collusion and obstruction claims against President Donald Trump deserve a reward. Tone-deaf Congressional Democrats are now proposing a pay raise for themselves, lifting a nearly decade-long pay freeze that would effectively give them an extra $4,500 next year, according to The Hill. Cost-of-living pay increases were guaranteed by a 1989 federal ethics law which was suspended by a Democratic-controlled Congress back in 2009 when salaries were at about $174,000. But now, with the House poised to vote next week on a $1 trillion spending package, 2020 funding bills could give lawmakers their first bump in salary in a decade.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has reportedly told top Democrats that she wants to see President Donald Trump 'in prison'. Pelosi's remarks came in a meeting on Tuesday with top House Democrats, including Judiciary Committee chair Jerrold Nadler, who is aggressively pushing for impeachment, Politico reported. 'I don't want to see him impeached, I want to see him in prison,' Pelosi said in the closed-door meeting, multiple Democratic sources familiar with the meeting told the outlet. Pelosi, who fears political disaster if impeachment proceedings are launched without broad public support, argued that it would be better to see Trump defeated in the next election and then criminally prosecuted as a private citizen.

President Trump’s threat to impose tariffs on all Mexican imports until Mexico takes serious action to control its border with the U.S. shocked the Washington Beltway, Wall Street, and the Palacio Nacional in Mexico City. These centers of financial and political power, lulled by a U.S. Congress that has refused to act and activist federal judges who have stymied Trump’s border control efforts at every step, were jolted awake by Trump’s ultimatum. But they should not have been surprised. The president issued a similar threat back in April. The 2020 election is lurching toward us like a malfunctioning robot, and I think we must ask ourselves: Can we risk nominating a man for president? Men selected as major-party nominees for president have failed to win the popular vote 50 percent of the time. Contrast that to the 100 percent of the time that a female nominee for president has won the popular vote. More importantly, are Americans ready to withstand another four years of male presidency? It is unpleasant to traffic in stereotypes, and many men are in no way like this, but recent experience teaches that for usually 31 days a month (sometimes 30, occasionally 28),

The deal to avert tariffs that President Trump announced with great fanfare on Friday night consists largely of actions that Mexico had already promised to take in prior discussions with the United States over the past several months, according to officials from both countries who are familiar with the negotiations. Friday’s joint declaration says Mexico agreed to the “deployment of its National Guard throughout Mexico, giving priority to its southern border.” But the Mexican government had already pledged to do that in March during secret talks in Miami between Kirstjen Nielsen, then the secretary of homeland security, and Olga Sanchez, the Mexican secretary of the interior, the officials said.
