The beauty chain Sephora is closing its US stores for an hour on Wednesday morning to hold diversity training for the company’s 16,000 employees, three weeks after R&B singer SZA reported an incident of apparent racial profiling at a Los Angeles branch. SZA, who has said she has previously worked at Sephora, shared her experience in April, writing on Twitter that an employee named “Sandy” called security believing she had stolen from the store. In a statement, Sephora said the training sessions were not created in response to the incident, but it “does reinforce why belonging is now more important

Classic corporate response. Make 15,999 innocent people take the punishment of mandatory diversity training for the possible mistake of one employee.

After several dozen black mob shoplifting throughout the country every year, I would be suspicious of any young blacks entering the store. Unless the black community and its kids start changing their behavior, people will continue to profile for self-preservation. It's only human nature.

When I hear "diversity training", why do I immediately think of rows of jackboots marching in lockstep?
The Leftist "mind" has reached full inversion - black is white, up is down, good is bad, and freedom is slavery.

So now stores automatically capitulate on someone claiming racism. Where was the proof?

Virtue signaling by Sephora. It’s pathetic when individuals do it but it is particularly disgusting when businesses begin self-flaggelation. A memo would have been sufficient. Instead the company decided to pull out the stops and show how self-righteous they are. I don't shop there and definitely will not in the future.

Here's a thought instead of diversity training, how about just teaching manners and offer it to both your employees and your customers. It seems to me that half the time it is the customer that is at fault and is the one who needs the potty-mouth training.

Diversity training? Is that where angry black agitators come in and yell at you for being white?

Diversity training is actually a good opportunity to educate trainers and trainees. You learn there are more people like you in the training, and the re-education fails big time. It's annoying and stupid as heck for all the reasons L-dotters have stated, and it's a way for businesses to pretend they are "taking action," but it can be turned into a positive.

If the roles were reversed and a black employee accused a white customer, would the company be doing this? Of course not.
I’ve shopped at Sephora for years. Guess I’ll switch to Ulta now.

I just can't believe that a black shopper would shoplift. Maybe it's because Oprah showed them how it's done in that upscale store in Switzerland and those UCLA basketball players that were "forgiven" for doing it in Japan set an example to the others, when accused of wrongdoing just cry "Raciss!" Works every time. Newsflash to the diversity training industry, your stupid fantasies create the opposite effect of what you are attempting to convey as correct behavior but I understand that there is a big profit in the concept. As most corporations will tell you off the record, Diversity Sucks, but they will continue to go through the motions to avoid facing reality.
