Geraldo Rivera: AG Barr interview should

Fox News correspondent at-large Geraldo Rivera is warning several Obama-era intelligence chiefs that they should be worried after Attorney General William Barr aired his concerns about the origins of the Mueller investigation in a new interview. During an appearance on "Fox & Friends" Friday, Rivera said it's clear Barr wants to get to the bottom of the Russia probe's origins and that he has "his target" on some of the biggest names associated with it. "If I were James Comey right now or James Clapper right now or John Brennan right now, I would be quaking in my boots," Rivera said.

Comments:

Even plodding, lefty, "I really don't like Trump" Geraldo is finally seeing what the heck has been going on here, and that AG Barr is likely to really 'get to the bottom of this'. For once, I agree with Geraldo. These guys should be worried.

I do not think Geraldo R is a never-Trumper. In fact, he appeared on The Apprentice show. I am certain he was on the show twice, He either won on one sow - or- was in it to the end; and I think he was also on a show with some of the stars of previous episodes. Speaking of The Apprentice, Joan Rivers was a winner on the all-star episode, and she was a great friend of DJT's. It is a pity that she did not live long enough to see him elected POTUS; and also to be able to share her witty sense of humor about his enemies.

All the name-calling and accusations coming from Clapper, Brennan, Comey and Hillary these days is to set up a case for claiming Trump is using the DOJ as an instrument for revenge. They would think such a scheme is plausible because that is exactly what they did when Barry had his feet on the Resolute Desk.

Geraldo is also a lawyer, and while he leans left, he also has known Trump for over 20 years. I think he knows his character, as do many others in NYC, particularly when Trump was a Democrat.

#2, I very specifically did not say he was a neverTrumper. I said, he seems to not like Trump very much. I may be wrong on that, but I have yet to hear him say anything actually positive about the President. Perhaps I just missed it. I tend to avoid watching Geraldo, I am NOT a fan.

Why should they quake? I'm betting Mueller gave them all complete immunity. That's his playbook along with hiding exculpatory evidence.

When assembling a cabal, prudence dictates that one choose the participants with an eye toward circumspection. After all, a loudmouth is not the best repository for your darkest secrets. President Barack Obama may be about to learn that lesson the hard way. In 2010, following the roughshod passage of Obamacare, the American people during the midterm elections unambiguously expressed their disgust with high-handed government edicts. A furious populace handed a solid House majority to Republican leadership, who promptly squandered the opportunity, never missing a chance to stand down, pledging unconvincingly to "fight on the next one."

If I have to choose between sneaky radical leftists who pretend to be small-d democratic activists and honest ones who admit they would stop at nothing in punishing people like me should they gain power, I would always choose the honest ones. Like radical jihadists, they believe that their cause is so righteous that opposition is immoral, and the evil people who oppose them deserve no constitutional protections once they are in power. In fact, the Constitution itself is an obsolete document, written by evil white slave-owners, and a hindrance to the utopia they believe is in reach if only we submit to their command.

“What’s your pitch to the swing voter on the fence?” ABC’s George Stephanopoulos asked President Trump on Sunday. Questions of this sort are gifts to politicians, but interviewers ask them for a couple of reasons. One, they’re civic-minded. Politicians deserve the opportunity to make their cases straightforwardly — and voters deserve to hear them. Second, they save time. (Snip) Trump’s initial answer started off following the standard script. He got four words off that must have had his political advisors cheering, “Safety, security, great economy.” Ideally, this is where Trump should have stopped talking.

Why haven't efforts to impeach President Trump gained Watergate-style momentum? The lack of energy has created a sense of bafflement and disappointment among some of the president's most determined adversaries. But there are some simple reasons for it. Here are three: 1.) The facts are different. In Watergate, the underlying crime was a break-in at Democratic National Committee headquarters, perpetrated by burglars paid by President Richard Nixon's reelection campaign. The scandal proceeded from there. In Trump-Russia, the underlying crime was the hacking of the DNC's and John Podesta's emails — a crime committed by Russians in Russia.
