Turning light particles into visual information is hard work, and your body relies on oxygen to get the job done. This is true whether you walk the land on two limbs or swim through the sea with eight. In fact, according to a recent study in the Journal of Experimental Biology, the amount of oxygen available to marine invertebrates like squids, crabs and octopuses may be far more important to their vision than previously thought. In the study, published online April 24, researchers saw a significant drop in retinal activity in four species of marine larvae (two crabs, an octopus and

I wonder how much tax-payer money was used in this study and how much more and how many grants it will take to finally have all the answers!

Ditto 5, Canes or oxygen tanks.
All in all, they're still pretty tasty and the Iron Chefs can do some cool stuff with the ink.

Key word(s) to look for on all these chicken little messages: Could, maybe, might, possibly. These modifiers mean they don't know and are guessing. Science = asking question(s) and running experiments to try and find answers. So many scientific "facts" have become not facts down the road when additional experiments have proven them wrong. Look if the weather guessers can't get it right two or three days out how can you possibly guess absolutely right about what's going to happen 10, 12, 50, 100, years down the road, other than to look at the natural cycles that occur and figure where you are in those cycles,

Weasel words may, might, could, possibly etc. are not scientific terms. Typical hysterical Leftist reaction.

How did they EVER survive these millions of years when the oxygen level has dropped countless times?
But I have an answer to the current crisis! Just release more CO2 into the atmosphere, somehow, and the plants will increase photosynthesis, thereby increasing the oxygen levels. Crisis averted!
You're welcome.

I thought it used to be Bush‘s fault. Nothing worse than a blind octopus. As a ldotter myself and others have noted a significant drop in mental intellectual activity among many members of the scientific community that have way too much time on their hand trying to connect the dots of man cause climate activity and crises on the planet with the only crisis existing in their delusional imagination.

No science related to climate. Just "concern" that the amount of oxygen in the water could drop. No evidence that it will. It's just that climate change is responsible for everything bad. Everyone knows that.
Truly pathetic.

Science is getting a bad name from all these fake scientists in search of grant money. All Oxygen in the atmosphere comes from photosynthesis that converts Carbon dioxide into O2 and Glucose. Incredibly, our own Academy of Sciences supports this Global Warming Hoax. At least the Australians just voted against Global Warming. See you November 2020 at the polls.

Please donate to the Save the Octopus Vision Fund. National Geographic is sponsoring it, and plans to inject Oxygen into the Oceans. If even One Octopus vision can be saved, it will be worth it!.

It could be happening in the atmosphere too. Oxygen is necessary for human brain function and this is the first plausible explanation for what is happening to the democrats.
Meanwhile I feel sorry for the octopi that will be bumping into everything on the ocean floor. Kudos to #5 for the brilliant comment.
