Washington-The top lawyer at the FBI when the Russia investigation was started said Friday that the probe was opened for "lawful, legitimate reasons," and pushed back on conspiracies that President Donald Trump has spread about the origins of the investigation. James Baker, the former FBI lawyer, said he felt compelled to speak out amid growing scrutiny of how the investigation started, concerns that have been stoked by Trump and Attorney General William Barr, who is conducting an internal review to see if there was any misconduct. Almost all of the top FBI officials who oversaw the Russia investigation have now publicly

"Almost all of the top FBI officials who oversaw the Russia investigation have now publicly spoken out against Trump"
There is a "consensus" of all the members of the gang who robbed the bank. They have complained how unfair it is that they are being held accountable for the robbery. All that money was just sitting there waiting to be taken.
Baker is, like others have, trying to reset the timeline of the start of the spying which was going on early in 2016.
On March 9, 2016, DOJ oversight personnel learned that the FBI had been employing outside contractors who had access to raw Section 702 Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) data. This activity was obviously happening before March 2016.
In response (April 2016), NSA Director Adm. Mike Rogers directed the NSA’s Office of Compliance to conduct a “fundamental baseline review of compliance associated with 702”.
THIS is when the FBI actors realized they needed a fig leaf to cover the political spying that had been going on.
THIS is when Baker´s "story" starts. and the dossier was born, a pathetic attempt to justify the political spying and a coverup to reset the timeline to hide the illegal FBI "contractor" work done before March.
Baker is either very stupid or very criminal. Baker may be a sap talking about his limited knowledge of what happened or he knew about illegalities and is still trying to cover it up. If the former, it is pathetic that a high level FBI lawyer could look at something as juvenile as the dossier and try to build a case on it. It was a "dog ate my homework" kind of document that only someone desperate to excuse their behavior could accept.

Baker is correct.
Trump Derangement Syndrome is a perfectly legitimate reason to spy on an opponent.

These vermin are now beginning to see the hangman´s noose and have started squealing in unison. It is interesting to see how their stories, CNN ´reporting´ is all on exact similar lines. Here is the catch. There IS an element of truth here and that is the Russians attempted to interfere in the 2016 US elections and this fact was known to the US authorities under 0bama. But that is where it ends. This did not justify the appointment of an SC and recusal of a sitting Attorney General. That was done because of the accusation that the interference was one sided in support of Trump whose campaign willingly colluded with them. There is now a slick attempt in unison to conflate these two issues and rewrite history.

If I remember correctly FBI Lawyer James Bake was upset because he thought Hillary should have been indicted.

Sorry, Mr. Baker, but you are a big, fat liar who is now in a CYA mode. Let’s hear you testify under oath in the near future. I hope they nail your posterior to the wall and lock you up with everyone else, especially Crooked Cop Comey, who participated in this cabal, right up to Obongo!

Yes, the Russians were spying on us and hacking our computer networks after Donald Trump was elected. Also after Barack Obama, George W. Bush, Billy Jeff Clinton, Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush were elected. Before that there were no networks outside of the military to hack but they intercepted all of our communications and routinely housed spies in their embassies. It´s what they do. It´s also what we do. There was no starting point. The first president to ignore the problem was Barack Obama therefore there was a need for them to pin the problem on Donald Trump or admit their lack of concern and incompetence.

Removing the President by any means necessary is perfectly reasonable and legitimate if you are an enemy of the American people.

CYA, pure and simple.
The rats are cornered, starting to whine and "explain" how they were ´just doing the right things´.
Sweat, rats, sweat. They´re coming for you.
I hope they all go to prison.
