Congress Should Be Ready to Arrest Attorney General William Barr If He Defies Subpoena

On Sunday, the chairman of the House Judiciary Committee threatened to subpoena Attorney General William P. Barr if he refuses to testify this week about the Mueller report. But a subpoena is unlikely to elicit Barr’s cooperation. “We’re fighting all the subpoenas,” says the President of the United States. In other words, there is to be no congressional oversight of this administration: No questioning the Attorney General about the Mueller Report. No questioning a Trump adviser about immigration policy. No questioning a former White House security director about issuances of security clearances. No questioning anyone about presidential tax returns.

Why doesn´t the democrat Congress just question Mueller about the Mueller report? He wrote the darn thing and he´s one of them.

You remember him, don’t you? They guy who set up and maintained Illary’s illegal and unsecured server? The guy who was subpoenaed by congress and blew them off? The guy who suffered NO consequences?

Where was the voice of Reich when Smidgen was playing dictator for eight years? Money was stolen and people died. That still qualifies as crimes, does it not?

So le me get this straight. Congress should arrest Barrr if he doens´t show up for the show trial. If Barr refuses its denies Congress its constitutional power of oversight. Right? But if Congress arrest anyone, its a clear violation of the constitutiona nd seperation of powers. THe constitution gives law enforcement to the Executive branch, not the legislative branch. Nice to see Reich has flexible seperation of powers.

No mention that Barr himself voluntarily offered to testify May 1 and 2. No mention that Barr is testifying before the Senate today. No mention of the irregular rules Nadler imposed for Barr´s testimony tomorrow. No mention that the reason Barr declines to testify before the House tomorrow is because Nadler shifted the goal posts. No mention that Barr is willing to testify tomorrow before the House committee without Nadler´s new conditions. No mention of Nadler´s threats and dictatorial pronouncements.

Robert Reich makes Alfred E Neuman look like a genius. What this moron forgets is that AG Barr never had to release the report. It was a report from the special counsel to the AG, that´s it. The only thing Robert Reich has between his ears is a bucket of cement. Got it.

Congress no longer has that power little man. They want somebody prosecuted, they have to refer it to the DOJ. They used to be able to do this, I think pre-50´s or so, but they cannot. Somebody needs to read their law a little closer.

Was there any congressional oversight of the obama administration? Where were they when obama was selling guns to drug cartels, or using the IRS to suppress and harass Tea Party groups. They were asleep during the obama years, and abdicated their duties. Now all of a sudden they are sticklers for the law.
Demoncrat always do this. They were deaf, dumb and blind during the clinton years, as well. It´s getting old.

Does Reich even know we have a constitution and a bill of rights? Has he never read a single thing about how the laws work and what the limitations on government arresting people are? Reich is a total idiots and here Newsweek is actually publishing this crap sandwich. No one over there at NW has any idea how to research the procedures Congress has to follow? Do they not realize, Congress has Zero, none, nada power to arrest anyone? They are legislators (supposed to be, anyway), not cops, not U.S. Marshalls, not Sheriff´s deputies, not even police officers or mall secuirty guards. They have no power to do anything but make laws and hot air.
