In some ways, Christopher Steele’s infamous dossier is as much a story about the media as it is about Russiagate, the monumental scandal that it both spawned and richly informed. The dossier, after all, was being whispered about among Washington journalists—some who’d been briefed off the record—for months before it exploded into the open. After BuzzFeed made the controversial decision to publish it in early 2017, Steele himself became a media phenomenon, garnering mouthwatering profiles from the likes of The New Yorker and Vanity Fair, and inspiring best-sellers like Luke Harding’s Collusion and David Corn and Michael Isikoff’s Russian Roulette.

Even Christopher Steele doesn´t believe that most of it is true.

You´d think "the media" would lay off the cover-up attempts by now. But no. I guess they´re hoping Trump will do a George W. Bush and let treasonous Democrats walk free. We don´t think that´s Trump´s plan at all.

as stated in the article that most of the information was third hand and not worthy of their publishing

Why doesn’t someone look into the supposed reason why Putin would want Trump to be President over Hillary. Putin already knew Clinton was corrupt and he could easily funnel money to her to get access, as so many have done. I still don’t get it.

The point that the "dossier" is being given ANY credibility at this point is tragic. We have a document generated by a retired spy. Spies not only discover information, they provide disinformation. Then the spy has shadowy sources in Russia, who turn out not to be the original source either. Now we have another, completely unknown, "source". As far as we know, it could have been a Russian FoB (Friend of Bill). Maybe even BJ himself.
Using this document for anything but trash is absurd. It was a Paid for, opposition research document, carefully removed from the owners, Hillary and the DNC, by a Legal team and and "research" group, GPS Fusion. That alone should have made it radioactive for ANY legal use.
So the full chain is media > BO & RINO bureaucrats > BO counterintelligence > Hillary & DNC > legal firm > GPS Fusion > Steele > shadowy "Russian" sources > unknown sources. Along the way GPS Fusion and Steele provided cheerleading to media and government agencies. Plus there were connections between GPS and DOJ.
If we tried to hang such an accucatory document on Hillary´s neck, say about Benghazi, NO ONE would take it seriously. No one should.
The "dossier" is squashed flat road kill and dems/media/Leftist loons are still "examining" it for signs of life. The only value it has is proof of the extremes that BO, Hillary, BO´s counterintelligence groups, media, and others were willing to set up to interfere with a presidential election.

The "dossier" was a CIA/FBI creation - - laundered through Nellie Ohr and former British and Australian spies - - then peddled through Trump-haters like McQueeg back into the CIA/FBI where it had originated.
Its sole purpose was to provide a cover for the previous illegal spying that the CIA/FBI had already been doing for at least two years.
Only the most delusional leftoids can still possibly ascribe any scrap of innocence to it. And that´s the target audience for this laughable exercise by Vanity Unfair.

Vanity Fair is a name that works. That publication is an open door to the egocentric, globalist, entitled, elite and their interests are NOT yours. They would be a kind of French court joke if they weren´t so rich and powerful. Hopefully their day is due and they will be exposed for the vicious liars they are.

FAR: ´´As far as we know, it could have been a Russian FoB (Friend of Bill). Maybe even BJ himself.´´
Given what we know about Bill Clinton, as well as Herself!, it is not unreasonable to believe the antics alleged with prostitutes could come from such minds...

Steele didn’t write the dossier. Nellie Ohr did. And he’s no “Paul Revere”. What a bunch of rubbish. I am amazed that an LDotter, of all people, would let this stuff rattle their cage. We know where to find real information. Why on earth are we messing about with Vanity Fair?

No, not anything in common whatsoever with Paul Revere, Steele was Col Tarleton. Steele is NOT an American, NOT a patriot, he is a Brit, and an evil criminal SOB.

#12 sometimes you need to know what the ´guilty´ delude themselves with...?
Vanity Fair is sticking with Steele as the sourcing point. Read it quickly but don´t even remember seeing Glenn Simpson mentioned by name.
Joe Pompeo is protecting/hiding the Murdoch Media´s role in another phony dossier scandal. If you want to sell papers, you take down celebs with your tabloid apparatus (spies). Likewise, if you want to extort, co-opt or take down important political figures, you use the same apparatus but you put all the juicy stuff in a ´dossier´ and then leak to other like-minded journos.

So, my take-away from this whole article is, Leftists journos still insist the Steele Dossier is golden, and journos who have gotten their hands dirty and reputations smashed by it say, "We should have known better..."
We still do not have a journalistic mea culpa.
