Update 10: Emmanuel Macron has arrived on scene, and is giving a speech outside the cathedral, after authorities claimed that the body of the cathedral has been ´saved and preserved´. I think the jury is still out on the origin of the fire.

We´ll know if there is a cover up should the phrase "unidentified persons" is used.

Twin towers.
Holy week.
Mooslim "Workers".
Admitting it was Jihadis would require a response and we can´t have that.
Even The Hildabeaste proved she would rather
smoothe it over than have to respond in kind.

... or if it is the ROP, we get the insipid “it’s not who we are” speech.

Sure am glad they so quickly figured this had nothing to do with:
(1) the threats by Islamists to burn it down; (2) the previous attempt to by Islamist to blow it up; or
(3) the hundreds of other church arsons and vandalisms throughout France.
That´s fascinating and awesome detective work!
I just want to know how they knew it was construction and not swamp gas or a weather balloon.

They may have to admit it was arson, but then be completely clueless as to who the arsonists might be.

The fire is not even out but the two announced certainties are that this is neither arson nor terrorism.

"Paris is beheaded"
What a strange choice of words, considering the history of France´s bloody revolution and the current Islamic invasion of this country.

Its no secret who started the fire. Trump! Nader has already announced that his committee is demanding documents from Trump to reveal the conspiracy. Naci said it was a disgraceful thing the Neo-Nazi Trump just did. Oh, but don´t say anyone or any religion was invovled as that is some type of phobia.

I just saw pictures of the inside and it is not too bad. The altar and Cross remain undamaged. I believe God was looking out for those. The roof is basically gone and makes the structure dangerous--but it seems not as awful as it looked from the pictures of it burning. I know who did this. I think most people know who did this.

We must wait for the facts, of course, since truth is often the first casualty in such events. This is especially a problem with governments and press that protect certain policies and groups.
That said: jihadists are at least "persons of interest" in this matter.
It would be great if some of the precious relics survived this, but again: places, buildings, artifacts, and persons are secondary to Christians. Our treasures are [or should be] where no one - not even Satan - can touch them.
Let this remind us of what - and Who - is important this week.

The muzzies did it. Everyone knows it. I´m saying it. I will not retract it; even if the governments come up with a non-muzz scapegoat. THE MUZZIES DID IT. G-D MUZZ.

The news is much better than I feared, after examining many photos from this AM.
The primary structure of the cathedral is the stone walls, the flying buttresses and the interior stone roof vaults. These interior stone roof vaults almost totally held up the huge burning wooden roof beam mass of fire and embers, keeping almost all of it out of the interior.
The literally fantastic news is that these stone interior ceiling arches are largely intact. The wood roof structure with copper exterior sheeting is not primary structure, just a weather cap to keep the water out of the primary stone structure.
The majority of the primary structure, my estimate is about 95-98%, is intact, with just the wooden "rain cap" destroyed. This wooden roof is something that is not seen at all from inside the cathedral, and while historic, not terribly architecturally or artistically important, and can be rebuilt, although it can never again be original. :-( Only one full interior stone roof vault is shown fallen, and one small hole. Amazing. I think the prayers were largely answered.
Of course, NOW the race is well and truly on to get some sort of a temporary rain cap on to protect it from water damage from coming storms until the new roof can be built, which will likely take years.

(cont´d)
But, as an engineer who has studied cathedral structures since art history in college 50 years ago, and visited many, and gone up inside whenever it is possible, to learn more, this is WONDERFUL news.
And it appears that the organ largely or totally survived, and the great majority of the art and artifacts were saved. And the bronze statuary from the now fallen small central spire had been removed for repairs, did not get destroyed. The main towers with bells seem 100% intact.
SO, SO much better than I had feared. Prayers of thanks will be sent.

I am no great believer in coincidences.
Holy week, jihadis everywhere, workmen with access to the wooden roof structure.

#13, apparently some were quickly on site, but the crazy Paris drivers couldn´t let the bigger trucks get through the rush hour traffic, is what I heard.
I had the same question.
IMO, they should have put the fire engine in low gear and started literally pushing through the cars, you can bet that they would have found a way to move.

This is the latest in a series of updates that started earlier today. Probably the best reporting of all on the devastating Notre Dame Cathedral fire. I imagine it may continue to be updated.
