Valerie Jarrett, a top adviser to former President Barack Obama, published a book that ranks dismally on Amazon and at Barnes and Noble, but was placed on The New York Times Best Seller list. Anomalies around the book’s sales figures in industry databases have some in the book business questioning whether Jarrett, who’s rumored to have received a million-dollar-plus advance, paid a company to game the numbers. Her book, which was published April 2, is number 1,030 on Amazon’s list of top sellers and has only three reviews on the site. It similarly ranks 1,244 on Barnes and Noble

This crappy book made it to the NYT´s bestseller list the same way Michele´s crappy book did.

Someone needs to look into the money laundering that clearly runs out of the book publishers. They seem to pay an exorbitant amount of money for books they know no one will want to read let alone buy. The DNC and other political groups buy as many as they can but that really can´t add up to much. So the question is how does the company justify these huge advances? And just where do they get the money to do it? Something just doesn´t smell right here and I would love to know how this scam is being played and by whom.

Its just liberals pushing liberal agenda helping liberals make money in a capitalist ecomony that they hate. NYT best seller list means nothing.

If you´re a loud liberal you write a book, receive a huge advance, fill the two covers with empty pages then get rich in the process. It beats the hell out of working for a living.

When there used to be numerous bookstores around, I remember how they would stack-up the liberal books right near the entrance. But if you wanted a book by a conservative author, it was generally hidden on a remote shelf.

Amazon nor Barnes and Noble got the memo. It’s in the mail. Give them a day or so.

Answer may be that the thousands of public and school libraries order multiple copies since libraries tend to be run by progressives. Our local library seems to always have 6 to 10 copies of every book released by Obama and Hillary propagandists. Add in the thousands of public and private schools plus the colleges, and you have a top seller without consumers.

It´s a scam, and something needs to be done about it. People who do harm to the country when in power, get paid through less than honest means, and we all look the other way while it happens. It needs to stop! I don´t care what the rules are, obama and his wife, bill and hillary, crazy Joe, and senile Jimmie Carter need to have their security details removed, and all those former "security people" like Brennan, need to have their clearances revoked. This is all outrageous!

It ain´t which list the book should be on.....it´s where the NYT wants it to be.

As a non celebrity who has been writing and dealing with publishers and agents for years, I know exactly what we are dealing with, a bunch of smarmy, lazy, dull, untalented marketing specialists who faithfully follow trends and reject most of the good material submitted to them in favor of some disgusting politician, movie star or liberal nut case who might have a little name recognition. Publishing anything by Hillary or either of the Obamas is laughable. They all claim to be too busy to talk or review a manuscript but they will never skip a three-hour, three-martini lunch or miss that Friday noon closing to get a jump on beach traffic for the weekend.
The NYT bestseller list has been proven many times to be a dishonest, liberal-promoting marketing tool.

Barak & Michelle combined could not write "Dick & Jane" with proper grammar & sentencing. It took a muslim,s twenty million donation to get Obie past the front door at Harvard. Only God knows what Moochelle´s ticket cost!!

Can’t be the millennials buying them. Most of them can’t read or, apparently write. A hopeful sign I saw however. Some public schools are starting to teach “cursive” and basic math again! Hope it catches on. I expect that most Jarrett books sold go to the same massive storehouses that store Hillary’s best sellers.

When was the last time a credible analysis was performed to verify the NYT´s "bestseller" list accurately represents nationwide book sales?
My own suspicion is that, however honest the list may have initially been, it had become more of an editorial "favorites" list for the Times. Or even a tool for promoting the political views of the editorial board, who could make any claim and then point to their heavily-cooked list as evidence that the public agreed. A sort of "democratic" gauge that could be totally manipulated to suit their whims...
