Congress and the Trump administration are inching closer to a legal fight over President Trump’s tax returns. House Ways and Means Chairman Richard Neal, D-Mass., wrote Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin on Saturday with a new deadline to transmit Trump’s tax returns after Mnuchin missed Neal´s original April 10 deadline. The Ways and Means chairman now wants the administration to provide Trump’s tax returns to his committee by April 23.
Believe he advised his taxes are under IRS review, and have been for years.
And, thought I read the same law the Democrats are citing also allows the President to also demand someone´s tax returns too?
Maybe he should look into how so many became millionaires only after becoming a member of Congress?
How many Democrats have been paid, or have their relatives being paid, by foreign companies or countries because of the access and influence they bring to possible business developments?

Someone please clarify something for me. For the Dims to ask for anyone´s tax returns don´t you need a clear justification. If not then if the repubs take the house then they can ask for Pelosi´s, Shumers, AOC´s, etc. tax return for no reason at all. Please let me know.

There has to be a ´justification´ or ´reason´ (criminal investigation) to obtain someone´s tax returns.
There is NO ´reason´ congress can specify that allows them access to a person´s tax return.
This is a Political Tactic used for Fund Raising.
The same Fund Raising letter will be sent out after/if the Mueller Rpt is released with the ´by law´ necessary redactions. The libs will scream the redactions cover the criminal activity - Political Tactic / Fund Raiser.

FTA: "“I am aware that concerns have been raised regarding my request and the authority of the Committee. Those concerns lack merit,” wrote Neal. “Moreover, judicial precedent commands that none of the concerns raised can legitimately be used to deny the Committee’s request.”
Neal added that the law allowing him to request and review those returns is “unambiguous,” and that he would view Mnuchin as violating the law if he blocked cooperation by the new deadline he set on Saturday."
Has Neal not heard of Separation of Powers?
The JUDICIAL BRANCH is tasked with determining violation of the law, NOT the LEGISLATIVE BRANCH. Trump is head of the EXECUTIVE BRANCH and is right to challenge the authority of the LEGISLATIVE BRANCH´s right to his personal tax returns without legal justification, which Neal is yet to provide.
Democrats continue to search for reasons to impeach Trump. Their attempts to do so bring disrepute on the House and the entire LEGISLATIVE BRANCH.

Pelosi’s entire family first! Then Feinstein’s husband. After that, Sharpton, Jesse Jackson and Maxine’s husband. Let’s look into EVERYthing Clinton and Obama for the last 35 years.

Am very confused as to how many years of tax records the IRS maintains. When I called them because I couldn’t find an original document from 10 years ago, they told me they don’t keep those records for that long. We have not a pittance of the Political class wealth, so, if the IRS couldn’t help a lowly taxpayer such as myself, Why would they be able to produce anyone’s tax returns from 10 years ago?

Oh, Man! I have to go out and get more popcorn. I can not wait until April 24th. I am dying to see what happens then.
Obama´s very moveable "line in the sand" comes to mind.
"Oh. Not going to deliver on the 23rd? Okay, then, I warned you! We are now moving the deadline to May 23rd- and you will not believe what happens then if you do not deliver!"
"What? You will move the deadline to June 23rd?"
"Doh! Call the Atty General, right now. It appears we have somone leaking our plans!"

Up yours Neal. Maybe you need to have a tax audit to see if the IRS is doing it right.
