Puerto Rico Gov. Ricardo Rossello said he will “punch the bully in the mouth" if the White House tries to bully him. "If the bully gets close, I´ll punch the bully in the mouth. It would be a mistake to confuse courtesy with courage,” Rossello told CNN regarding the disaster relief efforts still needed on the island following Hurricane Maria in fall 2017. Aides for Puerto Rico’s governor said the White House warned them Wednesday that representatives of the U.S. territories were pushing too hard to discuss the island’s situation.

Natural disaster relief is one thing.
Relief for an incompetent Puerto Rican government is quite another.
I support the former and get enraged by the latter.

Trump could take him with one hand behind his back! The truth is that PR is too corrupt to function. But the booze is dirt cheap, think it has anything to do with their current dilemma? I bet the governor was drunk when he threatened POTUS. Burp.

When in this diatribe, he just had to thrown a vulgarity, didn´t he. I am appalled that this language is used in public.
I never even heard of that word until I was in 5th grade, and had no idea what it meant until a friend told me in whispers. Looking back, she didn´t really know its meaning either. Not surprising, as most of us girls knew **nothing** (and I mean **nothing** about sex until we were in 5th or 6th grade and even then we had to do some research in the encyclopedia to fill in the gaps in our knowledge.) And I never heard that low life vulgarity said out loud until I was a junior in high school--it came in the course of a fight after our school integrated.
Anyway, I object to his insulting language and his juvenile behavior. We don´t need DC or PR to become states.

The leaders of PR must have had Ray Nagin and Mary Landrieu as their hurricane disaster response experts. The best defense is a good offense, eh Gov?

Puerto Rico serves no purpose for the USA, other than to waste billions of our tax dollars every year.
Cut them lose, so they don´t have to associate with the mean old USA any longer.
Don´t worry, I´m sure China or Russia will be happy to adopt them. But I´m guessing they won´t be quite as nice as we were...

Puerto Rico is a toilet where US Citizens´ tax dollars get constantly flushed. Has been that way for decades. The US Navy used to use one of their offshore islands for target practice, but with the help of liberal Americans, they ran the navy out. So, the only positive value they provided us no longer exists. Cut the cord.

Outside of the US Navy´s use of one of PR´s islands for target practice, I see no reason why we support Gov. Ricardo his band of incompetents.

Some years ago there was a strong move in PR for independence. In 1950 two PR nationalists tried to assassinate President Truman. Both were fortunately shot dead by WH police and Secret Service.
You don´t hear much about independence these days since most don´t want off the US welfare teat. It´s a failed, corrupt and bankrupt island. Can Trump grant them independence by executive order? If so, go for it. It´s nothing but a liability to the US.

I just happen to know of a certain New York Congress woman who would love to be Queen of Puerto Rico. She’s a brilliant legislator who has all the answers to your problems and isn’t afraid to let you know if you’re wrong. PM me and I’ll give you her name.

The government of Puerto Rico should be responsible for hurricane recovery, not Washington DC. The Governor need to take responsibility for his failure to coordinate recovery efforts. Stop sitting back and blaming Pres. Trump about the failure of the Puerto Rico Government and people to take care of themselves and expect everyone else to do their jobs!

The reason the relief supplies rotted on the docks is because these layabouts were too lazy to help themselves, they wanted everything delivered to them.

We really need to get behind a strong push for Puerto Rican independence. No more connections to the USA.
None.
Taking this from Spain was a real disaster. We were smart enough to turn the Philippines loose long ago. Keeping PR was a really serious error.

Cut them loose and they would be another Cuba within weeks. They are too far away to reach Florida on rafts so it´s not a problem.

Personally, I don´t know who is left in PR. If they aren´t in Kissimmee, FL aka PR North, they are in NYC. Good time to bulldoze and start over. All you ever hear is whine whine whine. Here for 20 years and can´t and won´t speak English. They whined about the base in PR because it made too much noise and finally shut it down. Then it was whine because the economy tanked when they left. Every day all day.

What the heck happened to the millions of dollars in relief aid that went to PR right after the storm?? I have seen photos of donated goods left to rot on airport tarmacs. Why wasn´t all of the aid distributed??
