CLEARWATER — Keondrae Brown was just 14 when bailiffs ?wheeled him into a courtroom in 2017, his bruised, bandaged face the latest symbol of Pinellas County’s deadly, juvenile-fueled car theft epidemic. His 16-year-old brother and two friends had died in the fiery wreck of a stolen SUV. Keondrae was the only survivor. “The problem is that these kids could have cared less about their crimes,” Pinellas Sheriff Bob Gualtieri told the Tampa Bay Times then. “They had no concern whatsoever about the juvenile justice system.” Now 15, Keondrae is still in the same juvenile justice system and in the same

Comments:

The 2017 accident that killed all but Keondrae terminated in the street directly in front of the local Ferrari dealership. At the instant of the T-bone crash with the Camry, the stolen Ford Explorer was traveling at 106 mph and became airborne before hitting five parked cars and bursting into flames, incinerating the two who weren´t ejected onto the macadam. This ruined kid won´t see his eighteenth birthday.

Sounds as though they revel in the commission of crimes. Gives them a charge. A thrill. They should be gotten off the street before anyone else loses his life because of them.

Before too long he will be charged and tried as an adult, and I use the term loosely. We can only hope that the youths he kills in the process are also in possession of 100+ felonies each, and not some law-abiding person simply in the wrong place with her children.

These kids only just barely meets the biological criteria for HUMAN, certainly not anything beyond that.

I wonder if he is a young black man judging by his first name. Not being racist but enquiring minds want to know. Maybe he is in a car theft gang and trying to make a name for himself. Apparently, they don´t have midnight basketball where he lives otherwise this could have been prevented. My bet he will be a leading candidate for the Darwin later this year. Good luck son and let us know how things work out ok.

#9, he is human. I think his mother should be punished alongside the boy. He is, only, a boy. I used to and still do blame these horrible situations on the absence of no father in the home. I then have to believe there wouldn´t be a fatherless home if the mother would have had enough of a moral code to not allow a man to impregnate her without the benefit of marriage. This young boy is an example of the result of a fatherless home and a mom somewhere, (home, maybe?) likely on food stamps, welfare and sleeping with yet another man most likely making another baby. Perhaps, doing drugs?
This is a 15 year old. Who will show him the way? Who loves him? And he is only one of likely hundreds if not thousands of Keondrae Browns in this country that are left to fend for themselves.
There isn´t enough midnight basketball, after school activities, free breakfasts and lunches that can take the place of a loving mom and dad. That makes me sad.

I followed the link to the article about the previous accident (the one that killed his brother and two friends). They were quite a little crime wave, roaring around town all night until they were killed at 4:30 a.m. after hitting another car. Luckily, the occupant of the car they hit (at 117 mph) wasn´t killed and had relatively minor injuries considering the force involved.

I can´t work up much sympathy for the dead ones - they saved the taxpayers having to support them in prison for the rest of their lives after their inevitable lifetime incarceration for murder. Yes, one of them was waving a gun around, so you know it was just a matter of time before he killed someone.

All the understanding and sympathy in the world does not change the facts, they are, in fact, irrelevant and immaterial to the situation. He is a killer, a stone cold killer. When we look to the promise of what might be we lose sight of what is.
Given the road he has paved for himself he will in all likelihood kill again. His fatherless home, his incompetent mother, and the mean streets he must live on do not have to add up to who he must be. Plenty under the very same circumstances do not follow this path. They said they couldn´t do anything until he was gone for 48 hours, as I recall.
I told them to hell with that stupid rule.

The Biden administration can be subjected to two empirical tests by any observer: first whether there will there be a new outbreak of war in the Middle East/North Africa (MENA) owing to the repudiation of the Abraham Accords and second, will it endorse restrictions on the exercise of the First and Second Amendments? We can leave aside for a moment the question of whether these possible developments are justified or beneficial. All that need concern the analyst for the moment is whether they can be detected. They most probably can because their signal characteristics are strong enough to burn through any spin.

Politicians have too much power over our lives. Many used the pandemic as another excuse to take more. Early on, politicians declared that they would decide who was “essential.” Everyone else was told to stay home. Much of the economy stopped. Millions were laid off. Then politicians relaxed the rules for industries that they deemed “essential.” “You can’t just call somebody essential without implicitly suggesting that half the workforce is not essential,” points out Mike Rowe, host of the surprise hit TV series, “Dirty Jobs.” That’s a big problem, says Rowe, because people find purpose in work. Now the Biden administration is eager to give money to people not working. It’s pushing

Last Thursday, as the House of Representatives debated H.R. 5, the Orwellian “Equality Act,” a seemingly exasperated Rep. Steube quoted the Bible to express the fact that millions of Americans
