Cory Booker blames flooding in the Midwest on lack of empathy

Senator Cory Booker got his sanctimonious platitudes mixed up yesterday in an on-air interview with Chris Matthews yesterday on MSNBC. The topic was "hate" and the unspoken target beyond obvious, so perhaps secure in the knowledge that there would no probing challenges coming his way from MSDNC, he put his brain on auto-pilot as he activated the synapses, leading to his store of vaguely profound-sounding empty banalities. In an age of anger, the man who carelessly called himself "Spartacus" now poses as a great healer, hoping to distinguish himself from the large and growing field of Democrats seeking the Oval

Why is it surprising when an idiot says another idiotic thing?
Booker is always saying things that are clearly BS, although I suppose to some people, the other stupid things may be more difficult to discern as BS than this obvious stupidness.

The man is not Spartacus but is a Bozo. The flood in Nebraska was caused by a lot of snow melting as has happened every so many years since European immigrants first showed up in Nebraska in the early 1800’s.

Sorry, folks, but Booker is no dummy. He has both a BA and MA from Stanford, a degree from Oxford in England which he obtained under a Rhodes Scholarship, and a law degree from Yale. Both his parents were executives at IBM. Short of it is, Booker is firmly established as part of the elite and views himself as one of our betters. If he was talking jibberish it was because he thought so little of his deplorable, white, Iowa audience that he thought they would just accept it all without question. He was insulting them, and probably laughing up his sleeve at them.
Do not under-estimate this guy Booker. He knew exactly what he was saying.

All of Booker´s degrees COULD have been bought and paid for. We now know that happens all the time! Surely Booker´s parents didn´t want the world to know they have a Dim Bulb in their family. I think every time Booker opens his mouth, he proves he is NOT President Material!

#14, I would guess that Booker got all those degrees the same way that 0bama did. And Bill Clinton was a Rhodes scholar too, so I don’t put much value on degrees from those universities.

I had to reread his comment more than once, to see if maybe I missed the part where it made any semblance of an intelligent, cogent point. It doesn’t.
No, Mr. Booker, the floods in Nebraska happened because of a record amount of snowfall, followed by a sudden warm up, combined with heavy rains, thus melting the snow quickly, that left nowhere for the water to go because the ground was still frozen. Thousands of people have lost everything, and many are trapped in their communities because the immense sudden rush of water has washed out highways, streets, roads and bridges. Livestock have to be airlifted out flooded areas; at least the livestock that is still alive.
We are struggling to help each other because that’s what we do. We don’t whine or ask for special treatment. We roll up our sleeves and get to work, just like Nebraskans always do when there is an emergency that most of the world could care less about.
You want to know about empathy, you pathetic, moronic poseur? You come here and roll up your Calvin Kline sleeves, pal.

To listen to some, there has never been flooding in this part of the Midwest. Why then, all the levees?
While I agree that we have been in a vicious weather pattern lately, MMGW is not the cause, and politicians can´t change it.
The peoples of the Midwest, like most of flyover country, will band together and help their neighbors out of this mess, like they´ve always done. Having Booker seize their assets in order to appoint a Flood Czar is foolish at best, criminal at worst.

Sorry to disagree with a previous poster, but all those degrees mean absolutely zero in the real world. Given he was more than likely an AA quota admittance to those schools, his parents probably also benefited under the AA system as well. Given the state of education in this country, the only thing Booker knows how to do well is scam and shine on anyone he needs to to get his own agenda moving.
We know that most professors are leftist, and they are also not going to give any kind of real failing grades to those AA students, even if they deserve it. AOC and her BU econ degree is a prime example. These two would be terrifying if they had the ability to actually put a brain in gear before opening their mouths.

Booker was probably just deflecting having the truth come out. This massive flooding has happened before (2011), destroying homes, businesses, farms and produce, animals. It is caused by the US Corps of Engineers and the EPA. The water is saved for the benefit of lake-residents, then hugely released when rains/snow come. It is unnecessary and evil.

They get away with it because the vast majority of democrats are illiterates. They don´t belong to a political party they belong to a religious cult. Remember this guy Chris Matthews is the one who said he got a tingle up his leg when Obama gave a speech. These people are mentally unhinged. Got it.

Flooding is all about a lot of rain in a short period of time. Empathy has no effect on this.
I can tell you why California has flooding and water shortage problems. Instead of spending money for reservoirs/retention ponds, they are spending money on a shiny bullet train.
Currently, California has a number of big ditches (E.g., Los Angles river) that are designed to drain water directly to the ocean. But, they are not everywhere. By building reservoirs where they collect rain (and melt-off) surges, flood water can be can be contained for use during dry periods or released at a much slower rate. This is not as flashy as a bullet train, but it would be a much bigger benefit for Californians.

There! All dried out now? Good.
Cory screwed up. Should have blamed it on Global Warming. Afterall, the snow melted.
