Artist Mona Shafer Edwards gave the world a sneak peek of what was really happening behind closed doors in the courtroom. Edwards’ colorful sketches of actresses Lori Loughlin and Felicity Huffman facing the judge for their alleged involvement in a massive college admissions scandal quickly spread throughout social media. (Snip)the freelancer was determined to portray the players in the high-profile scheme accurately. One of her illustrations showed a weary-looking Huffman, 56, who was awoken Tuesday by seven FBI agents, with guns drawn, at the family home she shares with William H. Macy and taken into custody.

I don´t think Lori Loughlin is a conservative, since she is part of the Hollyweird crowd out in Cubafornia -- where it´s career suicide to be a conservative. But she is "perceived" as a conservative due to her parts on the Hallmark Channel.
So I have to wonder if Mona Shafer Edwards may have a little "bias" in how she looks at "conservative" Loughlin versus well-known lie-beral Huffman...

Loughlin,s career is probably pretty much over on the Hallmark channel.

I don’t believe this courtroom artist had the foggiest notion of these women’s politics. Lori Loughlin exudes “do you know who I am?” through her pores. Entitlement. The girls are the same. They won’t be missed at USC.

Lori Loughlin is much wealthier than Huffman/Macy. That´s why her bond was higher. I overheard a conversation where one person was asking, "Where will Loughlin´s daughter ever be able to work again?" I´ll tell you where . . . at Daddy´s company or one of their parents friends. They don´t need a college degree. That was just vanity.

#1 is right. What it comes down to is finding a profitable niche for these people. Katy Perry was a Christian singer before switching to a sleazy pop phenomenon. Amy Grant followed the same path but she wasn’t sleazy, if we ignore her barely discreet affair with the married Vince Gill. Laughlin found her calling which demanded a publicly decent persona, which didn’t matter in her private immoral behavior. IOW they are who they are, and will do what they have to do to get fame and fortune.

So these people are in court because they bypassed the standard method for gaining entry into alleged educational institutions. This did harm to those who went trough the time, effort and expense to enter the right way.
Has anyone ever been in court for harming immigrants who suffered through the arduous process of becoming a Citizen the right way?

High school drop out 4th rate actress showing her true colors! All the money in the world wasn´t making up for the fact that she and her husband did not come from any stellar academic background, so the added patina of some posh school for her daughters had to be added.

Folks... you are about to meet the new Kardashians... that family is set for wealth untold and those young ladies are set up for life if that is what they want. Remember, one of the daughters didn´t want to go to college to learn, but to party... they are set to make a fortune in Hollyweird!

FAR: ´´So these people are in court because they bypassed the standard method for gaining entry into alleged educational institutions.´´
No, they are in trouble for fraud, cheating and tax evasion. It perfectly legal to bypass the standard model, if the educational institution agrees and no laws are broken.

This is just the opinion of one media related person. Too much weight is being given to it. It may turn out to be true, but again, it may not.

Am I the only person who thought that the FBI´s tactics in arresting all of these people were totally over the top? Really...you need 7 agents, screaming, with guns drawn to get "surprise" Felicity Huffman and William Macy? A bit overkill, no?
BTW, I think this whole scandal is overblown. There is a HUGE scandal in admissions and it has more to do with the quota system than a handful of people (by comparison to the general population) bribing a few people at elite schools. How many hard working Asian and White students are denied entrance to their schools of choice every year simply because of their race?

I´m with you Hermione. How many kids did this bribery scheme displace among the "elite" schools? Two, three? I´m more interested in which administrative officials made out like bandits and which SAT/ACT proctors got a fat gift.
The real scandal is the numbers of uneducated kids who get to go to elite schools and bump out the best and the brightest. That is way more significant than fat cats who want their offspring to get a diploma. Haven´t they heard of diploma mills? Pay for the sheepskin and it would be a heckuva cheaper than half a million.

At least these parents used their own money to get what they wanted. Democrats and Republican congressmen use OUR MONEY to settle their SEXUAL HARASSMENT law suits. ....and kept it CONFIDENTIAL!!! So the worse low life human being is.....?

Always remember they are ´actors´
All of the emphasis seems to be on these two and not the schools. If there were 50 parents, who are they? They offered money, but somebody gladly took it.

The FBI is involved? I already know the outcome: Nothing to see here since no reasonable prosecutor would prosecute.

An interesting sidelight on this story. Huffman shrinking in her seat; Loughlin looking arrogant with arms crossed. Loughlin’s daughters come across the same way. Husband Mossimo just looked shell-shocked.
Loughlin got to negotiate her own surrender. No perp walk at dawn with armed FBI agents like Huffman.
