The owner of the Red Hen explains
why she asked Sarah Huckabee Sanders
to leave

Washington Post, by Avi Selk and Sarah Murray

Original Article

Stephanie Wilkinson was at home Friday evening — nearly 200 miles from the White House — when the choice presented itself. Her phone rang about 8 p.m. It was the chef at the Red Hen, the tiny farm-to-table restaurant that she co-owned just off Main Street in Lexington, Va. Sarah Huckabee Sanders had just walked in and sat down, the chef informed her. “He said the staff is a little concerned. What should we do?” Wilkinson told The Washington Post. “I said I’d be down to see if it’s true.” It seemed unlikely to her that President Trump’s press secretary

SJW owner asked employees for their opinion. They “voted” to oust Sarah.

The intersection of business and politics is littered with the carcases of failed enterprise who made similar decisions. The NFL, Macy’s, Starbucks, Target, etc. The list is long and the stupid is strong. Never underestimate the ability of a public business to destroy itself. No policy is ever idiot-proof, merely idiot resistant; and there are always newer, bigger and more stupid idiots even in the sandwich business.

In the mind of a far-left progressive they believe their insane political perspectives are the only views that matter. They consistently over-estimate their geographical support, and find their need for superiority such that it affords them a bizarre moral right to force their positions upon others.

Control is a reaction to fear.

That one serves pretentiousness.

In a sane world, the manager would never have called the owner to "ask what to do" about Sanders´ presence. Who cared until a fuss was made? This restaurant, in the heart of liberalland, will suffer because of this. One way or another, they will not get off scott-free.

#7, it´s not fine. It´s stupid. Half of the country voted for Trump. A restaurant that wants to alienate that large a segment of the population won´t be in business for long.
And it´s not analogous to the gay wedding cake. That business didn´t refuse to serve gays. It just refused to bake a cake with a message that was inconsistent with
religious beliefs.

Conservatives are not welcome at her restaurant. Got it. Is she sure she knows enough liberals with actual jobs to keep her afloat? Business owners that telegraph the entire country that they are writing off 69 million potential customers are a special kind of stupid. I hope they close their doors quickly.

Thanks for the link #6. It says everything about this owner and her business. The chances that I would have patronized her business were slim before this event. Those chances are now zero.
As another poster said, fine. She´s the owner, and I recognize her freedom to run her business according to her "morality" (unlike those on the left, it would seem).
I´ll exercise my freedom to spend my money elsewhere. I recently dumped Spotify when I found out about their partnership with the SPLC and other radical leftists. Don´t miss them a bit. Next?

I´ve been in Lexington, VA, a lovely little town. If I ever visit again, I will not be eating at the Little Red Hen. I know they don´t want to serve anyone that thinks border laws should be enforced, they will call me the next thing to a Nazi. As far as the gay staff is concerned, don´t mean anything to me, but my vote apparently doesn´t pass muster with them.

The restaurant is located a little far (a few hours) from federal job heavy Washington DC to be able to depend on a constant flow of Lefties. It will no doubt thrive for a while as Lefties make a bee line for it. But if I know Lefties, and I do, especially if the Lefty owner makes the Lefty mistake of raising her prices with the onslaught of sudden fame (national coverage led by the Washington Post, no less), the Lefties will gradually decide that it´s a little too far to drive, a little too inconvenient, a little too expensive, and then the real effect of the owner´s typical bossy Lefty behavior will result in a genuine decline in business, and the place will close. Unlike Lefties, conservatives have a very long memory. I still won´t use Expedia, since I learned that they hired Chelsea Clinton for their Board, and pay her $250,000 a year of the honor. (Not with my money, they won´t.)

This story proves one vital difference between the left and the not-left. (To say "right" wouldn´t be accurate.) If Sarah Sanders were a member of the left, she would throw a fit, sue, and organize an angry mob to shut down the restaurant, then harass the owner at her home and threaten her children. If you´re non-left, you, like Ms. Sanders, say "Fine, I´ll leave," and take your business down the road. Now, who´s crazy?

Sarah & her family were actually fortunate that they were refused service at the Little Pink Hen. Their food might have been contaminated by these leftists. Would have been a terrible ride back to DC if her family had consumed food there.

Link to show that the owners of the restaurant wear the same vulgar hats as the wife and daughters of then FBI Director James “No bias here” Comey:

The left using the story of the baker who wouldn´t bake a cake for the Gay´s is half of a story. The real story is the gays did buy from the bakery in the past no problem. But what they wanted on top of the wedding cake was disgusting, that´s when the baker said no. Allegedly it was men´s private parts.

This demonstrates the maturation of the development of the Darwinian Left. For decades the Left projected might-makes-right demagoguery on any responsible action the Nation took in world affairs. Well, now they´re actually conducting a might-makes-right campaign against anyone and anything that doesn´t tow the misbegotten, totalitarian, Progressive line.

The party that spends half its waking day coming up with new schemes and rules to impose "fairness" on the rest of the world, seems to have figured out -- it doesn´t have to play by any rules.

They are the ultimate ends-justify-the-means movement in American history.

I seem to remember a cake baker who was ruined for choosing to refuse service to a person they disagreed with. Apparently to the left its ok to discriminate against those they disagree with but the right should be forced to accommodate those with whom they disagree, by force of law if necessary. Unintended irony alert: According to the article, this virtue-signaling quote from Martin Luther King Jr. appears as a placard in the window of the Red Hen. A "mission statement" of some sort:

“Love is the only force capable of transforming an enemy into a friend.”

In the Leftists´ Bizarro world, they always exemplify the opposite of what they claim to espouse. Was Sarah Sanders feeling "the love" at the Red Hen? Would its spirit guide, MLK Jr., have detected any "love" wafting out of that kitchen? It is to laugh.

However, Sarah Wilkinson and her staff have managed to conduct a "crash course" (pun intended) on how easy it is to turn potential friends (customers) into enemies. This Red Hen has laid an egg that will affect the business long after the Washington Post has turned its sympathetic attentions elsewhere. As others have said, conservatives have long memories, and in this new climate of doing unto Lefties as they exuberantly do unto others, the Red Hen may only endure in the long term as a cautionary tale.

Face it, the Leftists/Dems have chosen to break the bonds of civilized behavior, to throw their never ending temper tantrum. And they are trying to intimidate all the rest of We The People into submission. I say not just no, but hell no to that! They are not our masters, we are not their serfs. Look at this place and even further than this. They "organize" themselves as a mob, to project greater group leverage. And then think that their "organizing" is the noble part?! They have no apparent ability to self reflect. They think that whatever they do must be in the right, because of "their feelings". Their logic is circular and inconsistent. Hence their actions ridiculous, and infantile.
They also do not like that all the rest of us have begun to organize to defend ourselves. That´s why Twitter and Facebook have been going after "Conservatives".
It´s time to start investigating, and dismantling, their little fiefdoms and stop their mafia style behavior.
We didn´t choose this fight. But if its a fight they want, it´s a fight they´re going to get, and lose. Because, We The People want to Make America Great Again. And those fighting us, clearly don´t.

Correction to earlier post (#39): The name is Stephanie, not Sarah, Wilkinson. Looks like I criss-crossed the names. My apologies to Sarah Sanders for tainting her name by confusing it with that of the infamous Stephanie.

As #32 says, the media is reporting (so maybe it´s true?) that the infamous Stephanie is related to Meryl Streep. I wonder if Wilkinson was having a "what would cousin Meryl do" moment when she made the decisions she did. I daresay she will soon find she may enjoy a sliver of cousin Meryl´s notoriety right now, but she won´t enjoy the same "sacred cow" cushion that allows her relative to stay aloft in her bubble.

And many many dittos to post 42.

She is another like David Hogg’s mother. Probably worse. A feminist with a wimpy husband and son, both fully emasculated and tamed based upon that family photo of them at a feminist protest, all three in pink pussy hats. No one is going to change her mind.

The restaurant seats 26. Tiny. In Liberal Lexington and DC, they will always be able to find 26 to eat basically overpriced vegetarian meals, so protests just make us look bad.

I saw the yelp and google review pages. There were enough bad reviews of just the restaurant and its food, its value for (high) price to convince a person to rethink going there, regardless of their politics. The bad reviews mentioning Sarah were good but political. The others that just talked restaurant quality, any rudeness by staff, etc., are far more effective for keeping potential diners away.

Clearly Sarah Sanders should have stuck to barbecue instead of unwittingly being the catalyist causing the very liberal Red Hen to commit possible business suicide, as any restaurant who would kick a paying customer out of a restaurant because of the customer’s employment is taking a big chance with their future business viability.

There is no excuse or justification for the action taken by Ms. Wilkinson to refuse to serve Sarah Sanders. Business owners refusing to serve patrons who violate God’s laws as revealed in Scripture are justified for that very reason; Sarah Sanders has not violated such laws. The essence of Ms. Wilkinson’s action is political; there is a means of expressing one’s personal beliefs and that is at the ballot box.

To satisfy the dictates of Ms. Wilkinson’s staff and cause embarrassment to Sarah Sanders, her family members, and quite likely instill a sense of fear to her children is unconscionable but, sadly, typical of liberal mentality. If Ms. Wilkinson and/or any of her staff members consider themselves to be people of faith, it would behoove them to seriously consider their biased and actionable behavior toward Sarah Sanders. It is not unusual for well-intentioned people to make mistakes, mistakes they regret; there is only One to judge and forgiveness comes from sincere repentance.

Who really cares about the explanation for the personal decision to be rude and crude to a customer who came there to enjoy a family meal? Now everyone on the planet knows how this family was treated for simply choosing to have a pleasant meal there and now everyone else can choose which restaurants they want to patronize in the future.

At first glance saying: yesterday was a very good day, might sound like spin. However, for those who have been frustrated about the lack of righteous push-back from the executive office; the attacks from the former “spygate” co-conspirators might be just what is needed to trigger President Trump to declassify the underlying material. Consider the tweets from James Comey (former FBI), John Brennan (former CIA), Sally Yates (former DOJ), and statement from Ash Carter (former DoD).(Tweets) Think about the bigger questions: Why would former administration officials feel the need to engage in such discourse? What exactly does their response say about

Politics used to end at the nation´s shores. No more. Globalists slammed the president before, after, and while our duly elected president met with the leader of Russia. The National Guard´s deployment to the southwest border in mid-April has led to 10,805 "deportable alien arrests" of people who illegally entered the United States from Mexico, a U.S. Customs and Border Protection spokeswoman said Monday. Because guardsmen are military personnel and not law enforcement officers, they cannot apprehend illegal immigrants. But CBP officers and Border Patrol agents apprehended thousands of people that guardsmen helped point out.The National Guard´s presence also helped lead to the interception of more than 3,300 others who were turned back before they crossed into the U.S., CBP press secretary Corry Schiermeyer said in an email to

Ron Paul: ‘Trump Won’ in Summit with
Putin, ‘Neocons Aren’t Very Happy’

Former Republican congressman and non-interventionist advocate Ron Paul praised President Trump’s summit in Helsinki, Finland with Russian President Vladimir Putin, saying he believes the president “won.” In comments after Trump and Putin wrapped up a press conference together, Paul said he was “delighted” to see the two power players speaking while noting that the interventionist wings of the Democratic and Republican parties — commonly referred to as “neoconservatives” — are outraged by the meeting. Paul said: I would say that this was significant diplomacy. It has to be that the neocons aren’t very happy because Trump sounded pretty reasonable. And

President Donald Trump scored a diplomatic win on Monday at his summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Helsinki, Finland. The media, the Democrats, and the Never Trump contingent declared immediately that Trump had failed. But they were bitterly prejudiced against the meeting from the start, to the point where many insisted that Trump cancel it. To them, looking at the summit through the lens of “collusion,” the summit could only be the ultimate payoff for Putin’s election meddling in 2016. But viewed through the lens of diplomacy, the summit was a milestone in U.S.-Russia relations. Judging from their remarks at the press conference

New York Times best-selling author and populist conservative columnist Ann Coulter says the establishment media, Republican Party, and Democrat reaction to President Donald Trump’s historic summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin is “exactly like” the hysteria that followed the president’s call for a travel ban from a handful of Muslim-majority countries. (Snip)Coulter told Howie Carr: This is exactly like the proposed Muslim ban day with just hysteria so far outpacing rationality. The old aristocracy was born of battle, a warrior aristocracy. Then the reins were handed off to the bourgeois, the wealthy capitalist class. Today we have an aristocracy of opinion made up of the managerial elite. Their chief credential is their credentials, as well as their having professed the right opinions. Among this class, much of what passes for deep thinking—whether on economics, foreign policy, or anything else—is in fact a repetition of stale conventional wisdom. The managerial elite’s thoughtlessness is never more apparent than in the case of foreign policy. This week Donald Trump, yet again, has angered and

The nut wing of the Democratic Party instantly denounced Kavanaugh by claiming that his elevation to the high court would threaten all sorts of “rights.” Sen. Cory Booker, D-N.J.,
