´I am not a unicorn,´ Michelle

"I am not a unicorn," said Michelle Obama. "There are millions of kids like me out there." Mrs. Obama was discussing her upcoming memoir "Becoming," before a crowd of thousands at the American Library Association conference in New Orleans Friday (June 22). True, she may have been the first African-American first lady, but Obama´s ascent from a working class background to a professional career in Chicago and eventually the White House is a path that any American should be able to aspire to, she said. Unfortunately, "in this country we´ve gotten to a point where we kind of think there are only

It´s getting really tiresome being lectured to by this one-trick affirmative-action creature.
From her tirade: "In this country we´ve gotten to the point where we think that there´s only a handful of legitimate stories that make you a true American." Despite her use of the royal "we," she doesn´t speak for anyone but herself. Also, she really needs to lose that chip on her shoulder.

The ALA’s choice of keynote speakers(Hillary has been one, and remember Laura Bush, though not my favorite these days is a librarian in her own right and was vociferously protested by the membership) is a great reminder for us citizens to keep an eye on our public and school library collections.

Her only claims to fame are getting an affirmative action spot at an Ivy League college and destroying the school lunch program. If she was truthful her book would be a howler.

People flipped when Nancy was using a psychic, but this loon is comparing herself to a fictional animal with qualities of gentleness, outward and inner beauty and hope.

Discussing her ascent...she omitted that she benefited twice with affirmative action. Black and female. That is better than a lottery ticket. Curious? How many librarians attending were black? Those invited are very high on the totem pole and have advanced degrees.

This is the heartwarming moment a cyclist rescued an injured stray dog and brought it with him into a town where it met its new owners. Jarrett Little was cycling on the outskirts of Columbus, Georgia, with a group of friends on Thursday when they stopped by the side of the road for a break. The dog, which has since been affectionately named Columbo after the town where he was found, crept timidly out of the woods to make himself known to them. After noticing his bleeding leg and thin bones, Little hoisted him on to his back to cycle

JOHANNESBURG - Former U.S. President Barack Obama said on Tuesday the world should resist cynicism over the rise of strongmen in an apparent reference to populist leaders who hold power in several countries. “Just as people spoke about the triumph of democracy in the 90s, people now are talking about the triumph of tribalism and the strong man. But we need to resist that cynicism,” Obama said in a speech to mark the 100th anniversary of the birth of Nelson Mandela.
