Starbucks shares fell as much as 3% in after-hours trading Tuesday after the coffeehouse chain provided a weak sales forecast for its upcoming quarter and said it would shutter 150 stores in fiscal 2019. The Seattle-based company said it would close underperforming stores in “densely penetrated markets” and slow its rate of store growth. Starbucks said it traditionally closes about 50 underperforming locations annually. Starbucks said it expects same-store sales to grow 1% in its third fiscal quarter of 2017. Analysts had expected same-store sales to grow 3% in that period. “While certain demand headwinds are transitory, and some of

Well golly, I wonder how many of the closures are in areas where their new free public restroom service and needle disposal has become popular?

$3.50 coffee that tastes like tar and foo foo sugar concoctions that run $6.50 will catch up to your insane political blathering..Now you turn your stores into homeless hangouts..Not rocket science to understand there will be another 150 closures in 6 months.

Good news. A way to make it better is to hand out fliers in areas where vagrants gather telling them that they can get cool in summer and warm in winter and use the bathrooms at Starbucks. They probably don´t read the newspapers and don´t know. We need to educate them.

The chief attraction of Starbucks is comfortable chairs and free wifi. Millenials loved to hang out there for hours with their friends. All it cost was one over-priced coffee. It was definitely a healthier alternative to hanging out in bars. Now it is less attractive with inner-city homeless hanging out inside.

Confession. I like Starbucks´ Coffee. But I don´t like Starbucks and haven´t been in one in years. I get Starbucks Coffee at my local supermarket and make it myself. I hope I never get so short on funds I have to use Maxwell House. But the best coffee I have ever had is McDonalds. Even after grannie got burned. That stuff will wake you up. But you have to go McD to get the stuff. Politics is important to me. But food is more important.

Chicago may soon become the largest municipality in the U.S. to test a universal basic income program. Chicago alderman Ameya Pawar recently proposed legislation that would provide 1,000 families with a $500 monthly stipend -- no questions asked. The bill already has the backing of the majority of city lawmakers, and Pawar hopes to soon work with Mayor Rahm Emanuel to implement the pilot program, The Intercept reported. “Nearly 70 percent of Americans don’t have $1,000 in the bank for an emergency,” Pawar told the outlet. “UBI could be an incredible benefit for people who are working and are having

Former CIA director John Brennan said Trump´s remarks were ´treasonous´ while Newt Gingrich, usually a supporter of Trump, accused him of making ´the most serious mistake of his presidency´.
