Bill Maher: We Need to Stop Saying Most
Cops Are Good Until There´s More Evidence

Newsweek Magazine, by Maria Perez

Bill Maher suggested there should be a movement for people who have been victims of police brutality after a discussion on his show about police brutality. During a segment on HBO’s Real Time With Bill Maher, Maher called out abusive police officers and the people who protect him on Friday. “We need to stop saying most cops are good like we know that to be true,” Maher said. “I hope it’s true, but I need some evidence, unlike cops.” The HBO show host continued and said the violence exposed by the people who post the videos on social media is a problem. He questioned the kindness of police and questioned why there are

Comments:
How incredibly EVIl a statement this is. Next, Maher will mock our Military. If you are still watching his show for any reason, then you are a part of his problem. As a total socialist failure, his glass will always be half-empty, as his ideas.

Interesting how Democrats want big, huge government, but then find all the reasons why they don´t like or trust government workers.

They shut down the mental hospitals (gov´t run), they don´t like police, or the military and treat the VA like they are low-life´s.

Hardly any government office, agency, bureau or department runs effectively or efficiently.

But, they want more of it?

If Maher gets his wish that we have a recession serious enough to greatly damage our economy then many cops will lose their jobs.

I, too, am in agreement with Mr. Maher on this one. Unfortunately, I believe too many police officers have internalized a very unhealthy "Us vs. Them" philosophy. And the officers who protect with their silence are just as much of the problem.

It does a disservice to the law and society and drives a further wedge between law enforcement and the folks they´re sworn to protect and serve.

There are many videos on YouTube which show cops wailing on people. There are also many court cases where citizens agreed with the cops in many if not most of these occurrences.
The reason they acquit is because they get the whole story and have a better understanding of what happened. Ferguson folks. The Rodney King tape was played ad nauseum for over a year before the trial. At the trial the jury saw the entire film not just the part the media showed. The jury made an informed decision based on evidence presented. The media and the public did not.
Most instances of cops fighting citizens would go away if the citizens complied with lawful orders. Just as in the general public there will always be bad apples.

Remember, cops were referred to as "pigs" by the love/lsd/tune out generation?

A bumper sticker from back then said: "If you hate the cops, the next time you need help, call a hippie".

I don´t think its evil at all. He has a point
After all, they are just people and people are fallible. I don´t think that most people in general are "good", to tell you the truth. And I have noticed that they don´t hire people like they used to to become police. They don´t hire, nor do they train them to be civil servants anymore. They have turned policing into a paramilitary position (where everyone is considered a criminal who just hasn´t been caught yet) and the citizens have responded with more violence in return. My grandfather was a police officer, so don´t think I am holding a negative bias. I am not. But I have seen how police have changed immensely over the last 40 years as have their policies (which are sometimes worse than some of the officers). I have also personally seen many abuses of their position, especially over the last 20 years.

I don´t think most anyone is necessarily good. We all have varying levels of goodness, but it has little to do with one´s career and more to do with one´s upbringing. And while one person may take a job because he wants to make a positive contribution to society, there are others who will take the same job for the power and authority it carries.

You are never going to get much evidence of good cops because they don´t make sensational news video. Good cops go along, doing their job. Most bad cops are created by edited video. Yes, there are bad cops but they are in the minority. I prefer to think cops are inherently good people, just like us.

They risk their lives every day to protect us all!!!!!!!

Yet they are under attack constantly by the LIE-berals of this country. How many cops are shot, stabbed, beaten, and/or killed every year??? Yet, if they have to hurt or kill someone for perfectly valid reasons, they are attacked and accused of every evil known to mankind!!!

I don´t blame any cop who decides to quit and do something else. I really don´t. It´s not worth it!!!!!

Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election wasn’t as one-sided as Special Counsel Robert Mueller charges in his latest indictment. The Russian military spy agency that Mueller says hacked the Democratic National Committee also penetrated the computer systems of the Republican National Committee using fake emails in a phishing scheme, U.S. officials say. This evidence challenges the narrative, now reinforced by Mueller’s indictments, that Russia’s scheme was solely aimed at damaging Hillary Clinton. “RNC emails were stolen through the same spearphishing scams used against Democrats,” a senior U.S. intelligence official familiar with the investigation told RealClearInvestigations.

A 63-year-old father of 43 children was found beaten to death Sunday afternoon in his home on Chicago´s West Side. The body of John Hearring -- known as Nicholas -- was discovered with head trauma in his upstairs apartment in the 1000-block of North Leamington Avenue in the South Austin neighborhood. Multiple family members confirmed that he had 43 children. Hearring was a long-time resident there and well-known in the neighborhood. "He was the nicest man you´d ever want to meet. I don´t get it. All this killing is so senseless and now they are targeting the elderly," said Gwen Bridgeforth, his daughter-in-law.
