Why Fox News Is No. 1
Townhall, by Michael Reagan

Original Article

Posted By:JoniTx, 6/16/2018 2:12:25 AM

You wonder why Fox News is Number One in cable? It´s because CNN, MSNBC, NBC and the rest are so relentlessly negative about Donald Trump they force people to watch Fox to find out the truth about the growing economy or the historically low unemployment rates for blacks. Take this week´s Singapore Summit. No matter what President Trump accomplished in Singapore in his face-to-face meeting with North Korea´s Kim Jong Un, for Joe, Mika and their fellow foreign policy experts in the media, it was not enough. Or it was too much. Or Trump was naive or stupid. Or he gave away too much. Or he didn't ask "Little Rocket Man"

I remain a fan of Fox. The others aren´t worth my time. Yes, some of the Fox "contributors" make the hair on the back of my neck stand up, but Fox is still the most "fair and balanced" outlet available to us.

The media have been reduced to spewing their hatred of all things Trump to no one but each other and the like minded ignoramouses who are still grieving over Clinton’s loss. We know what they think of us because they told us. They are pretty sure they know what we think of them and that we have learned to see through their bs. Fox may not be perfect but I never feel like they are talking to me like I’m stupid.

I enjoy having my first cup of coffee of the day with FOX. I usually have my Laptop in my lap while doing that. I have them on until about 100am. Then I move on to other things. Sometimes we watch Outnumbered while having Lunch. Then we don´t tune in until Five when we TRY to watch the FIVE (very difficult with Juan screaming at everyone). Sometimes we just have to turn it off! We always watch Bret Baer at six and then the TV is off for the evening. I have switched to CNN from time to time just to see what they´re saying about something big that just happened. It always turns out to sound they live in a foreign country. Their take is always skewed no matter what the subject. Not worth watching.

We haven´t watched fox in over a year. The barely dressed females, people talking over one another, the circus like presentation. No thanks not a serious source from which to derive one´s news. We watch One America News in our home. Supplemented by Lucianne, Drudge and a few other sites. These news sources are for adults with intelligence and taste. All other sources are for those of a less than serious mind set.

I´m sticking with Fox. While not perfect, I get what I need from them. I must also say that Fox Business News Channel allows me to get Lou Dobb´s clear take on things. Between the two channels, I´m getting what I need to understand the truth.

I would really like for airports and public places to stop using cnn as the default news channel.

If there is any big reason to oppose any and all dim candidates this fall, it´s because the msm covers for them again, again, and yet again.

Good editorial. Thanks for posting, OP.

The "Must Read" tagline seems a bit off to a comic nerd like me. Kryptonite is spelled with a "K". It was used to poison the hero, leaving him powerless and weak. Having it helped the bad guys, and it was a bad thing. Something metaphorically stronger than Kryptonite would generally be a worse thing.

Maybe instead something about sunlight being the best disinfectant for cleaning house?

On Fox, they always have liberals on to give the left´s views, especially in a debate with a conservative. So you hear both sides. Not so much on CNN, MSNBC, etc., where you hear a lot of bitterness and outrage for Trump, especially on every little thing he says. The over-the-top bias is the same as those in the upper echelons of the FBI.

Fox is tops because they actually report the news, not conceal it.

Having said that, they need to create the ´fairness and balance´ with some intelligent voices from the left (if that´s not a contradiction in terms). Juan Williams, e.g., simply states the DNC party line; A. B. Stoddard is an addled babbler, free-associating endlessly. Mara Liasson is a good example of someone who will at least acknowledge reality and hold back from parroting dim talking points. They need to lose the predictable babblers and bring in more intelligent commentators.

When BO complained that all of the news outlets were fair to him excepting FOX, it confirmed to me that FOX is doing its journalist function pretty darn well.

Is FOX perfect? no. Some of the Dem contributers are maddeningly dense and vapid.

FOX gives time for people who have escaped the Left, who speak with a voice of one who knows the "enemy" from within and have a certain wisdom.

So FOX remains the enemy of the Left, the target of all the other "news" outlets. Dems would love to see FOX collapse.

Instead, the audience is growing. THis means more are searching out an alternative view.

We must Search for Truth. ALWAYS.

I like Fox News. With one exception, I even like what I don´t like about Fox News. I don´t watch Fox News to be pleased. I watch it to be informed, to learn what I didn´t know. I discovered several decades ago that I have the ability to make up my own mind when faced with a controversial issue. My one exception? Crosstalk: Two or more people talking (or shouting) simultaneously. Surprisingly, all FNC professional program hosts and hostesses are guilty of committing crosstalk. I´m simply unable to comprehend two people talking at once. I guess I´m funny that way. Fortunately it´s a problem with a simple solution. In word of one syllable, DON´T!

Besides having some Trump supporting Republicans state their positions, FOX with their fair and balanced mantra, allows a lot of liberal Democrats on there to spout their ant-Trump political agenda.

Usually when they have both Democrat and Republican spokespersons on to debate issues, you can bet that of the two, the Democrat will usually be aggressive and will continuously cut the Republican off, with the Republican most times coming over as a wimp who will not effectively rebut the Democrat spokesperson, as the FOX moderator sits there like a bump on a log.

Some of the DC based media reporters who FOX invites on as being authoritative on complex political polices and topics really don´t know their butt from their elbow and usually end up spinning a very liberal position. On the evening FOX shows where they do really have some experts on to talk about complex subjects, unfortunately those people, as they attempt to make their points are cut off and are frequently interrupted by the FOX personalities who run the shows, so that at times the audience never gets the full picture of what the expert is trying to say.

Sometime we dip the toe into the water on CNN, MSNBC, etc - and it is so angry, so full of vitriol - unwatchable. No filters on "news" - it is ALL OPINION all the time, on everything.

College students marched against the Vietnam War. The effort is an example of public-relations ´astroturfing,´ a technique meant to simulate genuine grassroots support for an idea or cause. The man who co-wrote “The Art of the Deal” said Sunday he believes President Trump’s faculties are diminishing — and that he feels obligated to sound the alarm. “We are in a true emergency,” Tony Schwartz said on CNN Sunday. “And the accelerated rate at which his breakdown or decompensation is occurring is cause for us, and certainly for me, to come on to TV more often, to tweet more often.” Schwartz told CNN’s Brian Stelter that he felt comfortable making that assessment because he had “spent an enormous time with [Trump] over a period of 18 months.”(snip)Stelter pointed out that Schwartz

Meghan Markle‘s smile is hiding fear, stress and the pressure of adjusting to her new royal duties, her father said in an interview published Sunday. “I think she is terrified,” Thomas Markle told The Sun. “I see it in her eyes, I see it in her face and I see it in her smile.” “I’ve seen her smile for years. I know her smile. I don’t like the one I’m seeing now,” he added. “This is a pained smile.”The newly-minted Duchess of Sussex, 36, is struggling to cope with the transition from TV actress to a member of the royal

San Francisco Mayor London Breed said the streets of her city are flooded with the excrement of the homeless in an interview Friday. Breed, a Democrat who was inaugurated as San Francisco’s mayor Wednesday, urged homeless advocacy groups that receive money from the city to teach homeless people to “clean up after themselves.” “There is more feces on the sidewalks than I’ve ever seen growing up here,” Breed told KNTV. “That is a huge problem and we are not just talking about from dogs — we’re talking about from humans.” The streets of San Francisco are littered with a “dangerous

Whether Democrats realize it or not, the names being tossed as potential 2020 challengers to President Trump are weak. It’s milquetoast. All far too left for the American voter, and all with rigid regional appeal. Who knows who Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) is outside of New Jersey? The same could be said for Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY). Sen. Elizabeth Warren’s (D-MA) doesn’t resonate outside of the Boston suburbs. And Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA), well, she’s working hard to boost her profile, but she’s running aground with the Bernie crowd. Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) could run again, but his age—and the

President Donald Trump’s comments during a joint press conference with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday were “treasonous,” former CIA Director John Brennan asserted. “Donald Trump’s press conference performance in Helsinki rises to & exceeds the threshold of ‘high crimes & misdemeanors,’” Brennan, a vocal Trump critic, wrote on Twitter. “It was nothing short of treasonous. Not only were Trump’s comments imbecilic, he is wholly in the pocket of Putin. Republican Patriots: Where are you???” Trump and Putin fielded questions from reporters at a joint summit in Helsinki following a one-on-one meeting earlier in the day. Trump praised Putin during

Democratic Tennessee Rep. Steve Cohen on Monday called for the “military folks” to save America from President Donald Trump after Trump’s much-criticized press conference with Russian President Vladimir Putin. “Where are our military folks? The Commander in Chief is in the hands of our enemy!” Cohen wrote on Twitter, using language suggestive of a military coup. (Tweet) Cohen later said that he was in no way calling for a coup. “No coup called for,” he wrote, claiming it unlikely that someone would call for a coup on Twitter. Cohen’s bizarre tweet was similar to one from former Obama CIA Director

A 63-year-old father of 43 children was found beaten to death Sunday afternoon in his home on Chicago´s West Side. The body of John Hearring -- known as Nicholas -- was discovered with head trauma in his upstairs apartment in the 1000-block of North Leamington Avenue in the South Austin neighborhood. Multiple family members confirmed that he had 43 children. Hearring was a long-time resident there and well-known in the neighborhood. "He was the nicest man you´d ever want to meet. I don´t get it. All this killing is so senseless and now they are targeting the elderly," said Gwen Bridgeforth, his daughter-in-law.
