It has been two weeks since vulgar comedian Samantha Bee’s vile attack against Ivanka Trump on Full Frontal, in which she called the President’s daughter a “feckless c**t” who should seduce her father, and corporate advertisers continued to keep their distance for her June 13 episode with just six non-Turner-owned promos sponsoring the show. On the May 30 episode of Bee’s program, when she first made her comment about Ivanka, the program boasted a sturdy 19 advertising spots. At that time, her advertisers included: Orkin, Taco Bell, Apple, Verizon, Haagen-Dazs, Jim Beam, Windows, Febreze, Discover, Geico,

So do we apparently.

Must be a sort of ghoulish fascination with people who self-immolate to even be reading about this morbid behavior.

The reality is these advertisers have at least 2-3 degrees of separation between them and the content of the broadcast. Not an excuse, just an observation.

At a minimum, the advertiser has Agency A. Agency A works with Agency B, who works with the broadcaster. The advertiser is assured by all parties that a particular show can deliver a demographic. It´s really all they´re interested in. Many times they know nothing about the show´s content because, like us, they don´t watch.

It´s only when things blow up that they are forced to confront reality and make some difficult choices. It doesn´t take an actuarial genius to work out that a particular show costs more business than it generates.

Dumbing down? New study suggests
young people´s IQs are in decline
RT News (Russia), by Staff    Original Article

A new study, conducted by Norwegian scientists, shows that IQ scores of today’s young people are in decline, putting an end to the post-war trend of rising intelligence. After the Second World War young people’s IQs were steadily rising. It was dubbed the Flynn effect after New Zealand intelligence researcher James Flynn. This phenomenon saw average IQ scores rise about three points per decade. But researches from the Ragnar Frisch Centre for Economic Research in Oslo say the Flynn effect is now past its peak. In a paper, published in the PNAS journal, Norwegian scientists Ole Rogeberg and Bernt Bratsberg analyzed the data

If Jeff Sessions and Christopher Wray want to clean house at the FBI, they’ll be well advised to pack a good lunch. Cleaning this house will be an all-day job. The agency under James B. Comey has been more corrupt than we thought. The long-awaited findings of the inspector general at the Justice Department were finally released Thursday, and it reveals clearly that officials high up in the food chain were out to protect Hillary Clinton by any means necessary. The inspector general discovered a smoking gun, and, if we are to believe our eyes, couldn’t see clearly whether there was a bullet in it. Peter Strzok, the FBI official

Norwegian state broadcaster NRK announced this week that President Trump is now officially in the running for the Nobel Peace Prize after his historic summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un Tuesday. Norwegian lawmakers Christian Tybring-Gjedde and Per-Willy Amundsen of the country’s Progress Party – similar to the Republican Party in the U.S. – nominated the president this week for the 2019 prize. The Norwegian politicians pointed to the recent summit as the reason for the nomination, according to a joint statement fed through Google translate. “Through his untraditional style, President Trump has helped

John Oliver used to do these satirical joke segments about your banter with Charlie Rose on his show. Do you look back at that now, after Rose was fired following multiple accusations of sexual harassment, and think about it differently? I don’t know, because it really was in good fun. It was very harmless. I had no idea that we would ever be part of the #MeToo story. I actually thought what John Oliver was doing was pretty funny. It also said she used the prestige of office to advance her personal business interests and failed to be “patient, dignified and courteous” to

All told, 195 offenders who either produced child pornography or committed child sexual abuse and 383 children who suffered sexual abuse were identified, the Justice Department said. “No child should ever have to endure sexual abuse,” Attorney General Jeff Sessions said announcing the arrests. “And yet, in recent years, certain forms of modern technology have facilitated the spread of child pornography and created greater incentives for its production. So she moved several portraits of prominent white doctors in order to be more diverse and inclusive. Problem solved? Clearly at the end of his tether after a shocking run of bogeys in his third round, the much-decorated American embarrassed himself when another putt rolled past the hole. Instead of waiting to see where it finished, he stopped the ball with his putter and knocked it back whence it came. The floats at the Boise Pride Festival have changed drastically over nearly three decades. Dallas Chase knows this well. Chase, 71, attended the first festival in Boise, an informal gathering in 1989. She was part of the team that built the first "float." It consisted of a borrowed wagon from her neighbor decorated with painted cardboard. "It was done in secret in my garage," Chase said. What do you do with an FBI agent, sworn to uphold the law, who flagrantly violates the law in a rogue investigation aimed at making a name for himself by bringing down some high-profile targets? Why . . . you promote him, of course. At least that is the way the Justice Department answered that question in the case of David Chaves, an FBI agent who serially and lawlessly leaked grand-jury information, wiretap evidence, and other sensitive investigative intelligence to the media in his quest to make an insider-trading case against some celebrities.

In late October of 2016 James Comey knew Donald Trump’s candidacy was as dead as a doornail. That must be distinctly understood or nothing wonderful can come from the story I am going to relate. Time soothes the edges of old emotions. We forget the shock of that election night. Almost two years now of articles and TV takes, even books, make Trump’s election seem understandable, even sometimes inevitable. But that’s not how it was then. When FBI director Comey and the FBI dropped their late October Anthony Weiner surprise, they did so fully confident that Hillary Clinton would win. What
