Diversity and Inclusion Harm

In conversations with most college officials, many CEOs, many politicians and race hustlers, it´s not long before the magical words "diversity" and "inclusiveness" drop from their lips. Racial minorities are the intended targets of this sociological largesse, but women are included, as well. This obsession with diversity and inclusion is in the process of leading the nation to decline in a number of areas. We´re told how it´s doing so in science, in an article by Heather Mac Donald, a senior fellow at the Manhattan Institute, titled "How Identity Politics Is Harming the Sciences" . A classic example of the failure is the walkway/bridge that collapsed in Florida recently.

The contract was awarded to a school who met the "diversity" requirement as opposed to schools with higher standards.

Big name, (once) highly academically respectable universities, have created majors (aka "courses of study, or emphasis, or interest, even the descriptors are deliberately? amorphous) that sound very much like STEM but upon inspection of actual course requirements are mostly social "science" fluff. The "diverse" recipients of the degrees in these majors are then hired by other universities and given STEM sounding titles and positions of power and allowed to teach equally watered down courses and grant more essentially worthless degrees.

I think the NBA should be forced to play with at least one short fat white woman on the court at all times until this ends....and she must be paid the same as the others.

Diversity and inclusion programs just make minorities more suspect when they get out into their ´professional´ careers. Are they actually good, or were they just pushed along to satisfy the abstract goals of academia? I would imagine it hurts more people than it helps.

The worst harm being done by "diversity" and "inclusion",which is just Affirmative Action renamed, is that standards for your surgeon, engineer and airline pilot´s education will decline. Ditto every other profession and avocation in the country.

We are becoming a nation of incompetent. That is very dangerous in medical professionals and every other facet of the culture you can think of.

Every so many decades the left has to change the topic with a new clever concocted word to keep the movement alive. Diversity is nothing but Affirmative Action. The left does love it´s clever word games to fool others when they themselves are the fools.

Ireland After the Abortion Vote:

When I interviewed Ireland’s Minister David Stanton, I knew I’d be entering rough waters if I started asking him questions on issues like Islamic immigration, abortion, and transgender children. Ireland, after all, has seen tremendous social and political change in the last fifteen years. It certainly is not the country it was when I was a boy -- when I’d hear Irish aunts and uncles on my mother’s side refer to the homeland while lambasting a relative for leaving the Catholic Church, marrying a non-Catholic (a major heresy in those days), or having the gall to divorce and remarry. Today’s Ireland

Right now, Britain is like the Wild West of Europe, and it’s been said our police have lost control of our streets. I asked serving members of the British Police what it is like to be a police officer in the U.K. today. Their truths will make you weep. This is Dave’s story: “In 1999 I was suspended from the police over an allegation of assault against an Asian male who had beaten his girlfriend in the street. “It was a night shift and I was crewed with a female probationer. Sunday was not just Father´s Day but the 65th anniversary of the June 17th 1953 Volksaufstand - the people´s uprising - in East Germany. Over a million people in hundreds of towns marched against Soviet puppet Walter Ulbricht under banners declaring "We want to be free, not slaves." Russian tanks put down the rebellion, with some difficulty, and that was that - for thirty-six years. Bertolt Brecht, East Germany´s playwright (and lyricist of our Sinatra Song of the Century #95), wrote a mordant and droll poem on the events - "Die Lösung"(The Solution): After the uprising of the 17th of June The Secretary

On September 4, 2001, Robert Mueller took over the FBI. At his confirmation hearings, fraud had overshadowed discussions of terrorism. And as FBI Director, Mueller quickly diverged from the common understanding that the attacks that killed 3,000 people had been an act of war rather than a crime. In 2008, Abdullah Saleh al-Ajmi, who had been unleashed from Guantanamo Bay, carried out a suicide bombing in Iraq. Al-Ajmi had been represented by Thomas Wilner who was being paid by the Kuwaiti government. Wilner was a pal of Robert Mueller. And when the families were having dinner together, Mueller got up and said,

With just two days to go until the World Cup kick-off, it feels like half the world is with me here in St Petersburg, ready to play. Half a million visitors will be welcomed and the Kremlin has gone all out to showcase Vladimir Putin’s new Russia as a vibrant, safe and strong nation. Publishing giant Penguin Random House has announced that its authors are no longer to be chosen on literary merit but according to a politically correct quota system “taking into account ethnicity, gender, sexuality, social mobility and disability”. This is mad, stupid, and insulting. But not nearly as mad, stupid, and insulting as the decision by the Mslexia Short Story Prize, a literary competition for women authors, to sack one of its judges Lionel Shriver as a punishment for daring to criticise the new policy. When Donald Trump withdrew from the so-called Iran deal in early May, almost all conventional wisdom in Washington was aghast. The Left thought nullification would fast-track Iranian proliferation, incite more Iranian terrorism and adventurism, estrange our allies, and alienate a possible new friend. Many on the conservative side (aside from Never Trumpers who are against anything Trump is for, including their own prior policies) thought it would have been wiser to back out slowly, or at least to have waited first for the duplicitous Iranians to get caught in clear violations, or to coordinate a joint withdrawal with the Europeans. We the media have “fact-checked” President Trump like we have fact-checked no other human being on the planet—and he’s certainly given us plenty to write about. That’s probably why it’s so easy to find lists enumerating and examining his mistakes, missteps and “lies.” But as self-appointed arbiters of truth, we’ve largely excused our own unprecedented string of fact-challenged reporting. The truth is, formerly well-respected, top news organizations are making repeat, unforced errors in numbers that were unheard of just a couple of years ago. Our repeat mistakes involve declaring that Trump’s claims are “lies” when they are matters of opinion, or when

Illegal Immigration: The latest outrage by the Trump administration is its policy of "ripping" children away from parents who´ve crossed the border illegally. As with so many other things involving Trump, there´s plenty of emotion but precious little in the way of facts. The furor reached critical mass after the Department of Homeland Security said on Friday that 1,995 children had been separated from their illegal border crossing parents from mid-April through May. That number included, DHS said, cases where the adults were arrested for illegal entry, immigration violations, or possible criminal conduct. The practice has generated a rising storm of protests,

Roseanne Barr has become untouchable due to the "Valerie Jarrett/Ambien/Planet of the Apes" controversy, irrevocably contaminated by racism. This presents a problem for ABC, which canceled her revived show but wants the show to return in some form because it had high ratings. The apparent solution is to create a new show focused on the daughter character "Darlene," which would exclude Roseanne. Unfortunately, Roseanne Barr owns a chunk of the show, and ABC doesn´t want to be seen letting Barr profit from it, so ABC is in talks to buy the show from Barr so she would not technically profit

The Justice Department’s tepid OIG report, with its risible assertion that there was no political bias in the FBI’s Clinton email probe, suggests that it was written by people afraid to tell the unvarnished truth about the conduct of the federal government’s police apparatus, an agency that openly defies congressional oversight and has participated in a vendetta against a sitting president. The FBI’s leadership clearly hopes that the Democrats will win majorities in Congress and put a halt to the investigations into its multifarious abuses of power. The FBI´s cover-ups and stonewalling on Wray´s watch add to his credibility problems. Both in is his press conference after the IG report was released, and in his testimony Monday before the Senate Judiciary Committee, Director Wray demonstrated he was more concerned about protecting the reputation of the institution of the FBI than about the astonishing corruption of top FBI officials detailed in the IG report.
