Trump´s new Federal Reserve head
approves second rate hike this year

NBC News, by Lucy Bayly

The Federal Reserve approved another rate hike on Wednesday, bumping up the nation’s benchmark interest rate by one-quarter of a point. It’s the second time Fed Chairman Jerome Powell has raised rates since he took over the nation’s central bank in February. The increase, announced at the conclusion of the Federal Open Market Committee´s two-day monetary policy meeting, continues the Fed´s cautious approach to steering the economy away from potential inflation while balancing a number of newer geopolitical risks that could threaten America´s nine-year growth streak. The new short-term interest rate now sits at a range of

Comments:
I´m only posting this because it is breaking news. I assume by raising the rate is to keep a check on the new money found with Trump´s tax reform last year? Anyway, the other is that NBC tried to "sneak" in that the economy has been growing for NINE years. ROTFLMAO. "Fake News Alert."

Yep. 9 years of growth. With Global warming they created an artificial "hockey stick" graph showing temperatures suddenly shooting up. With the economy, their job is now to Hide The Hockey Stick graph showing growth rocketing up when Trump took over from the chump.

Chairman Powell is smart as a whip and cool as a cucumber. he seems very impressive. the gradual moving up of rates is due to rising growth, trying to avoid runaway inflation and attendant crushing rate hikes that would become necessary. it also is dealing with the draining of excess cash pumped in after 2008 recession. and it is unclear what our real unemployment rate is as many are still on the sidelines who may wish to re-enter the work force for additional income. they are not being counted as unemployed right now.

Quantitative easing was a trail that never should have been taken - they should have been hands off and let the chips fall where they may. The incentive to save was totally destroyed.

We can thank obama the muslim for destroying our incentive to use savings accounts. People afraid of the stock market used those as a safe means of growth. You had to commit to ten year bonds to make less than 3%. Muslims don´t believe in interest but they usually have no problem with a growing economy. Obama had neither. The credit card companies, of course, had a picnic because we had to pay for the inevitable defaults of the lofos and gimmedats with up to 24% rates.

Officials in Virginia are warning residents to be on the lookout after an invasive plant was found Tuesday in the northern part of the state that can cause third-degree burns and even permanent blindness. The Massey Herbarium at Virginia Tech said in a Facebook post that 30 giant hogweed plants were discovered in Clarke County, located between Winchester and Leesburg. The plant contains a very toxic sap, that when combined with sun exposure, can cause severe health hazards. "In brief, the sap prevents your skin from protecting itself from sunlight, which leads to a very bad sunburn," according to the New York Department

Is Trump gaslighting
the world on North Korea?
Washington Post, by Ishaan Tharoor    Original Article

Critics of President Trump routinely accuse him of "gaslighting" — that is, of deliberately repeating misinformation to the extent that the public starts doubting verifiable facts and believing in Trump's self-serving talking points. On Sunday, a flurry of more than a dozen presidential tweets offered clear reminders of his tactics. In one glaring example, Trump reiterated a lie that his political opponents are responsible for the forcible separation of the children of undocumented migrants arriving at the American border — it was his own administration that chose to pursue these measures, which have sparked a growing backlash.

The Port of Virginia is one of the most significant ports in the United States. It facilitates $242 million worth of commerce a day, and a full 9 percent — or 343,000 — of Virginia’s jobs are port-related. But there’s a problem. It’s not big enough. Not when cargo ships have gotten bigger, which threatens both business and safety. Experts say deepening and widening of the port at its channel is crucial. (Snip) How much is that? Around a billion dollars. Virginia has already secured $695 million in private and state investment, and the state is asking for $300 million more from the federal government.

President Trump has been in office 514 days, give or take an hour or two. He’s rocked both sides of the aisle, added a whole new dimension to politics, bettered the economy, challenged the liberal media narrative and finessed an unprecedented and historic meeting with North Korea. Mr. Trump has honed several new skill sets on the job, while remaining unapologetically true to his inner mettle, entrepreneurial roots and billionaire status. His ability to connect with voters, meanwhile, is sharper than ever. The reassuring combination he developed on the campaign trail three years ago still works like a charm.

Roseanne Barr has become untouchable due to the "Valerie Jarrett/Ambien/Planet of the Apes" controversy, irrevocably contaminated by racism. The apparent solution is to create a new show focused on the daughter character "Darlene," which would exclude Roseanne. Unfortunately, Roseanne Barr owns a chunk of the show, and ABC doesn´t want to be seen letting Barr profit from it, so ABC is in talks to buy the show from Barr so she would not technically profit
